I see a lot of people using Arch, is it lightweight?

For reference, Xubuntu out of the box isn't lightweight enough. Would using the i3 WM help with that, or is it purely aesthetic?

arch is great for shitbooks. i installed it and used i3 on my eepc w/ only 1gb of ram. achieved similar results as >>45217686
i3 isn't ideal, but the difference between it and dwm is negligible. try to use mostly terminal based applications, like ranger for your file manager, nano or vim as your text editor. surf, dwb, and uzbl (and a few other lesser known browsers you might discover if you bother to search for alternatives) are your best bets for browsers. firefox and chrome are just too much. good luck watching videos, but if you do, use mpv.
