Last thread died.
i am going to get bigger screens next and a lamp, the chair is not my normal desk chair, that is just in the picture because the week i took that picture my back was hurting and that chair helped.
Messy edition, because I had to take everything off my desk to prepare for a quote to be made on the new one we are having installed. It's going to be a while yet before that desk is done though, will be a lot nicer than this shit tier Ikea desk though.
I used to, I've just been very lazy due to moving stuff on and off my desk, when I get my new desk installed I'll have all of the cables managed.
Pic related is a photo from back in April when my desk was in another room.
It's usually on the centre monitor, I moved it to the right because I was playing a game on the centre and using Skype video on the right with a friend.
dude learn how to use your aperture settings appropriately..also
>saving a non graphic image as *.png
Just a quick shot from my Sony A7 with a 50mm f/1.5 attached.
I usually would, had to reformat my MacBook and don't have Photoshop installed, just took a screenshot of the photo I took because it was 8.8MB out of the camera, and the screenshots automatically save to .PNG
Threw the shelf I got like 4 months ago onto the wall today.
Alright, exam week over. Now waiting on the result that'll be there on the 4th July.
Depending if I have it or not, I may upgrade my battlestation greatly this summer.
Exit the ugly ass kiddy blue white stained walls, exit the poorfag display shelf, exit the ghetto monitor stand, exit the AMDbluescreens rig... I sure hope I didn't fail this fucking exam.
And of course I forgot the picture, Damnit Vito!
I have that same stand.
I'm considering getting a monitor~
looks pretty damn clean, always think its odd when people only have a small ssd and no other storage.
noice, do you guys use cameras to get decent photos? I can't do it with my phone...
do you live alone?
thats a lot of desk space, isn't used very well though
what steering wheel is that? I'm interested in getting into racing sims, I especially like the idea of one with manual shifting.
damn, that looks so clean.
do you live ina fallout shelter? also nice album
>lack of TV
Just because it has not yet been purchased. Will hang on the wall.
>Your home looks lovely
thx, another room, badroom
Waiting for the wall stand to be delivered so i can hang my bass guitar on the wall.
Also not sure if i should put a shelve on the wall for my figures or just a movie poster.
>It is a City Hunter Predator.
I always find it very strange how decorating tastes vary so greatly by country. You can generally tell where somebody is from just by looking at their room.

>mac garbage can with the connectors facing you...
>shit keyboard WITH STICKERS ON IT!!!
>swaggy di swag sunglasses
>kidney annihilator garbage drink
the table is nice though
I swear it wasn't me, I picked this up on Craigslist. If you find another, definitely pick it up. It's really nice and gives that "warm" feeling audiophiles gawk about. It also looks cool.
This is my station. There's alot i wanna change...
The desk and chassi is the main problems!
>using a laptop style keyboard on a desktop
>plastering said keyboard with stickers
please... make it stop!
>posted pictures of the entire room but not the only thing we care about in this thread
not only are you missing the entire point of this thread by not posting your battlestation, you also don't value your privacy because you went the extra mile to post your privat space in a thread where we do not care about it.
>Do i spot a drone?
What exactly do you consider a drone to be? Genuine question.
>>If so, what's your use for it?
None because they were all saved by the maple syrup I gave them.
I've got a build log but exceeded the bandwidth limit on Photobucket, I'm uploading all the images to Imgur right now though, I'll link the redone build log in a bit.
Variable, about 5-6 minutes for my setup and flying style.
Around $500 for the quad itself. Much more in the other equipment involved.
>Where did u get?
Built it myself. I'll link to a build log shortly.
Variable depending on equipment. In it's current state I could probably make it out to about a kilometer if I wanted.
>Do you have a video feed?
Yes. It's flown through a set of video goggles or a monitor using a live video feed that comes from the quad itself. It's like I'm sitting in the cockpit of it, controlling it in a first person view.
Battery, camera/sensor, lens focal length, stabilization for video, antenna, recording software, RC controller, antennas, is that CF, is the video written to flash or are you controlling it like vidya via streaming.
See below for battery. The camera recording video is a Mobius action cam with a wide angle lens. No stabilization or fancy recording software. FrSky Taranis. Video antenna is an ImmersionRC 5.8 Spironet. Yes, it's a carbon fiber frame. I'm doing both, take a look at >>42657806 I use one camera for recording video, and the lower camera is used for a live video stream that I see and control the quad, yes, like a video game.
I fly with 1300mAh 3S lipo packs. Lithium Polymer packs can handle high discharge rates and maintain a linear discharge curve to prevent massive voltage sag. 3S packs supply 12.6v fully charged, and about 10.8v fully discharged. The power system can easily pull 30-40+ amps at full throttle, hence the seemingly low flight time. That is however supplemented by more batteries of course.
You're killing me with jelly. I've never seen one of those on /g/ before.
Quite the opposite actually. You reach a point where the added capacity of a battery is diminished by the added weight of the pack. More weight = more thrust required = higher constant amp draw. I'm just gonna throw out some numbers to make sense, these are by no means a representation of anything specifically and are meant as an example.
If the quad is 500 grams with the current battery, and each motor/prop combo can put out 250 grams of thrust at full throttle drawing 10amps, then the quad should be able to hover at 50% throttle, and you can assume that each motor is pulling 5amps to hover. Now if you use a battery of a higher capacity but it adds another 100 grams, then you'll actually require 60% throttle with each motor now drawing 6amps to hover. By increasing the size of the pack you've now increased the amp draw as well as reduced the amount of total power the machine can use for flying around, making it more sluggish.
This is moreso a simplified answer as there's far more to consider, but does that make sense, for the most part? You _can_ improve flight times by adding higher capacity packs without changing the setup, but there reaches a point where you no longer have the capability to either lift the pack, the flight experience isn't worth the added capacity, or flight times actually shorten because of the increased amp draw.
Not really a battle station but whatever.
Just happened to have the lights out for another project..
Not him, but my guess is that it reduces the area needed to be clear for the door to open while simultaneously preserving the ability to fit larger things in there and have a larger doorway in general.
Laptop station ho~
Pretty boring though.
Get some next time and we'll talk.
Actually looks kinda cozy. Clean, too.
I see you value headphones over computer speakers. Good.
Good lights? How much were they? I need to invest in a light or two for future Youtube endeavors.
No, it really isn't.
Good on you.
I was thinking the same thing but I didn't want to nerd out over it. Thank you.
Suggestions would be appreciated. Working on getting a painting up where all that white is and maybe some better wire organization. Anything else anyone would suggest?
It has a nice vibe. It only looks shit compared to others since it doesn't have a lot going on and the picture quality is horrible. But, in general, it's clean and fully functional, which is all a battlestation really needs to have.
what's with the weird trend of everyone complimenting a battlestation with "clean"? clean as opposed to "your station is literally smeared with faeces"? every battlestation is "clean" because, with the exception of shed guy, people who live in their own filth don't generally share it with the internet
Dude, we got the same speakers
>Not elevating them to ears level
>H-here you go anon, this is m-my battlestation
>do y-you think it looks good?
we can't see anything
>baka baka! i didn't post it because i l-like y-you
>i value m-my privacy more than y-your approval
no you don't you posted your privat stuff!
>you should just die you virgin onii-chan
>i secretly still l-love onii-chan
i guess "he" might be able to pull it off. i think that is a girl. look at the heart shaped post its, the purpe post its and glass, also the size of the clothing. might as well just be a girl, and in that case she would get away with it.
Look up 'headphone cable braiding', heaps of guides, got my girlfriend to do it for me. I've undone it since then though, got anoying having the cable that short.
Thanks mate, will be doing both of these once the new desk is installed. All in good time!
Got a new desk recently but I have yet to fill it with shit
That actually looks really awful functionality-wise..
It looks uncomfortable as hell, and it seems almost TOO minimal, like, to the point of being depressing...
It's pretty as a photograph, though.
Dude, the speakers are shit, don't be proud of it.
However, I fucking love your mini-helecopter, what are you gonna upgrade on it soon? I heard you have spent 4-5k in total, right?
Well I didn't get them brand new so I didn't spend a fortune on them, fortunately. I like them and the fact that they've got the amp built in. By no means the best, but enjoyable none the less.
>However, I fucking love your mini-helecopter, what are you gonna upgrade on it soon? I heard you have spent 4-5k in total, right?
Not gonna upgrade anything on it yet. I've just built it, and this thing itself is an upgrade from the previous one I've been flying, which I'll still fly but if I lose it in a river or something I won't feel bad about it. As for total spent, yeah somewhere around there for everything, from radio and receivers to chargers and batteries and all sorts of other fun goodies. I have quite a few different parts and such for some scratch built airplanes that I've yet to even touch as I move from one multirotor project to another.
I've got this little guy to work on next. Actually just preparing to flash the ESCs with a different firmware. She'll be a rocket when all's said and done.
Also, I dig your setup.
This desk was a bitch to get in my room but worth it.
Just arrived - I love the smell of a new motherboard
Don't get Audioengine ever really. Get some like mine for an example, they're really bang for the buck, they're called Dali Lektor 2. Or you can take a look at Dali Zensor 2. Both of the models are purchasable in black and white
Suggestions? Got a new keyboard and desk on the way
What monitor size do you people prefer? I have a 23" now, considering about buying a second screen but can't decide on the size. Is 27" 1920x1080 just plain stupid? Or should I just get a 24"?
My 20" 1600x1200 monitor still seems huge to me. I might appreciate a step up to 24" 1920x1200, but I think anything larger would just seem silly to me and require too much head movement.
1920x1080 is too low for a 27", and last I checked all panels with that size/resolution were junky TN panels, though there may be exceptions nowadays.
maybe try to make it more cozy and comfy? Like curtains or some shit, some flowers? a poster? an animu girl figurine? maybe move the left speaker so it's more symmetrical to the right one?
Thisn new desk of yours might spice things up
Fuck my life is easy. A bit messy maybe, but fucking easy.
Please don't make fun of my Razer products. I don't know why everyone talks shit about them, they're actually really nice keyboards/headsets/mice
noice, is there anything to the right outside of the picture to make it more closed down? for cozyness? and i've seen that white drawer a lot, is it from IKEA and is it standalone? Because i've seen other tables with that stuff
Why is everyone on /g/ obsessed with the word cozy, did Chloe really influence you all that much? I know he's a qt3.14, but still.
Yeah, it's from Ikea, the Linnmon/Alex modular desk system, they have the drawers, the legs and a bunch of table tops all interchangable. What I have is actually 2 full desks, they're fucking huge
hey i don't know if you're still here, but I'm stuck between getting an ergonomic keyboard or a razer blackwidow
is blackwidow comfortable?
is typing on it loud/obnoxious, or nice and quiet
The experience of typing on a mechanical keyboard is so much better than shitty membrane keyboards, and they're kind of loud, but not so loud that you're gonna distract yourself. get a keyboard with mx browns, and you'll be fine.
The one pictured in this thread was around $500-$600.
This little guy didn't cost me much as I had used some bits that I had acquired with other things, so I've never really delved into the cost of it. Probably around $300-$400.
Left is current makeshift station, right is new station arra being built.
Posted it earlier, but I've got a build log for the more expensive one if you wanna take a look at how I built it.
It's not really a kit, they're more so pieced together with bits acquired from all over.
Mooloolaba, Queensland, Australia
Fuck yeah it's warm, it's always warm. Never too hot and never too cold.
Here's a really bad photo I took because for some reason I can't work my camera phone
I wish. The cd is broken and I'm yet to know a OS that is compatible with booting USB in that EFI shell. I've tried FreeBSD and it didn't worked.
Right now its running Plex plus the features of home sharing iTunes. The black dude at the left is a motherfucking 7.5TB FreeBSD home server.
what monitors are those?
here have a Thinkstation
By the way Lion is a-ok with Xcode and Brew. I specially like the fact that I can connect SSH to the back to my mac address that iCloud offers. It saves the hassle with dynamic DNS and NAT rules.
