What are you using for calorie counting? If you gained weight at a 1k deficit, then you must be fucking up your numbers, bad. Be extremely strict, overestimate food calories if you're not sure. Do more exercise. Eat more veggies and less calorie dense stuff.

I was a 2 meal per day guy and got fat from it because my second meal was always way too big since I was starving by the time I ate it. It unscientifically and anecdotally feels like my metabolism is working now with more meals a day too.

I eat 5 meals a day now, all small consisting of 1/3 protein, 1/3 carbs, and 1/3 veg. Since I don't count the calories at all I use the exercise bike 2x a day to make up for it, once in the AM and once at night and pounds have been falling off. I also gave up gatorade/any liquid sugar drinks except beer on the weekend but nothing Mon-Fri.

So far this lazy strategy has worked to drop from 255 to 225lbs (I'm 6'2") but I basically plateaued here, which I don't care the beer and pizza gut is gone, and I don't wake up feeling like a bag of shit anymore.

Crossfit is something you would do after you're already fit to get uber fit. You never want to be overweight and jumping on to boxes or shit blowing out your knees.

Plus they do stupid things like Burpees. Burpees were just used as a test for fitness, you're not supposed to do them every single day into the hundreds of reps you'll fuck up things. There's other more proven/safer ways to work the core than blasting out Burpees

I weigh/track everything now tho so having a meal too big isnt really a problem.

im currently on 7000 kcal def / week (+ one night a week where im drinking, so realisticaly im at 4-5k def a week, but going out with the guys is the only thing that keeps me from blowing my brains out atm so i find its worth it), and aiming to come home to my family for xmas at around 225/220. I can understand where the both of you are coming from. I will probably get hurt going there. I went to a few gyms for the last year and while I dropped 60 pounds I just wasn't enjoying going to the gym. Gaining 15 pounds back and getting discouraged I just said "fuck it" and showed up for a free day at the local "box" and actually had fun. Now that I've officially joined my head pops off the pillow in the morning and I'm fuckin' ready to go. Not every day is great but I've been enjoying a lot of it so far. Dropped those 15 pounds already too. But yeah I joined as a last resort, basically give myself a kick in my own ass.

the only environments i frequent is the library, class, and my apartment. can't flirt in the library, just me and my friends in the apt, so maybe class?

thing is i like to only focus on studies during class. i'm talking come early, sit right at the front, no laptop, put my phone away, pen and paper for the vast majority. guess maybe i should try coming extra early and sit next to someone i think is cute? man if only this was easier

How do I breathe better and stuff? I'm just biking, but I passed from a chill average of 24~27km/h to 27~30km/h, and HIIT hurts when I try to keep at 110 RPM, not just 100 anymore. I can't seem to just do it all a bit slower like I did before.

You're probably eating too much. Most online calculators overestimate your TDEE.
The more accurate ones are those that use bodyfat levels. And even then it's probably not 100% exact, and more like 90-95%.

You need to adjust based on the real changes in your body.

To give an example, I'm 165cm (>inb4 london), and my TDEE is around 1744 kcal at 61kg 18.x% bf.

I don't own a scale, I weigh at the gym. I know in the morning after a shit is the most accurate, but you spend more time doing stuff with food /water in you than not.

Personally I eat around 250/300 for lunch so I can have a snack, and I walk for two hours minimum 7 days a week and lift for 6 days a week to give myself some leeway.

Its not strict enough for some, but I've been consistent at eating 1300 calories most days, and I've only gone over 1500 for about a week total in my 3 months of doing this.

The big difference is : I'm not miserable with it. I'll be happy when I can end my cut, but I feel confident I can sustain this happily at long at necessary.

I'm not an expert, I just know I'm eating 1300cals a day and lifting weights is becoming easier.

Maybe I'm not building muscle for real and just becoming accustomed to the weight. But even if that's the case, I'm in a good position for when my cut finally stops because I can build up to higher weights immediately.

When I started, just the barbell felt extremely heavy and hard to balance properly. Now I barely feel it, and only after doubling the weight does it feel heavy like it used to. If that isn't progress, by some measure, then I don't know what is.

I just don't see the logic in waiting to lift. You know you're gonna have to lift to look decent. Chances are you haven't lifted before. So get the beginner period over when your area cutting, and you're ready to just do it when you can bulk and really gain.

Late posting because I was a bit lazy to edit, also turns out I was a month ahead of my actual weight loss. In my previous pics I counted my day 1 picture as month 1 where it was actually month 0. Eating has gotten a bit better, though I still thing I look like a fat shit and nothing really has changed. I'm 22 and living with my mother. I have/had my own share of problems but this one is not about me.
My mother is 46 and getting fatter by the year. Four days ago she bought a 300g jar of nutella,
and today I saw it almost completely emptied. She keeps doing this all the time, indulging in extreme
amounts of sugar. When I consult her about it she tells me she's not even eating that much. What she means
is that her breakfast and dinner are super thinned out so that she can eat more sugary products. She also goes on
about "work making her stressed out" and "It's my nerves, I just get this urge and I can't help it". The work

so what's the deal with diet sodas?

i pretty much cut out all sugary drinks from my diet, but sometimes i still have that craving for something sweet and i pick up one of these guys. what's the catch though? how can something be 0 calories and 0 sugar but still taste good? is it destroying my gains?

I don't know if this is the right thread but here I go. A while back I started my diet at 1,200 calories a day and now poop somewhat infrequently. When I ate more I'd poop more, obviously. Now it is like every three days or so which I think is fine. I'm making sure to eat plenty of fiber and veggies every day so it's not like I have some bad discoloration or anything going on with the stool.

What I am seeing now though is MASSIVE FUCKING LOGS. When I used to poo it would be some chunks here or there. Now I feel like it's time for a "normal" poo and when I look at it the fucker is reaching clear back in from the bottom to who knows how long down there all the way to the top of the water. And I'm not sitting here grunting and groaning or in pain, it's just a normal shit.

The longer poop goes unpassed, the denser it gets (if the volume were the same, your body would start to rupture)

To compact it, it will not only push it together tightly but also start to absorb whatever water it can. Obviously you won't have separate turds anymore. It's just the way it is. Drink a LOT more water to help offset this compaction.

I'm 6'5" and started out at 320 im down to 267 now after 7 months and now that I'm back in college it's really weird how the girls that I was friends with when I was at my heaviest want to touch me more and hug me more. I guess we'll see how vein they are when I'm actually at my goal weight of 190.

Daily reminder TDEE calculators are lying to you, all except the Katch-McArdle formula which calculates TDEE based on your body fat percentage which is extremely relevant to us fat fucks. If you're a 20%+ bf skinnyfat subhuman or a fat fuck, you need to use the Katch-Mcardle with the "sedentary" multiplier and calculate calories from working out on your own.

If you go below 35-40% tdee deficit, you risk binge eating and losing muscle mass.
Losing muscle means higher body fat percentage and binge eating means eating all the calories back in a day or two.

If you're a beginner, chances are you'll gain some muscle while cutting all that fat. I'm serious, don't starve yourself. Lift, do 30 minutes of cardio on non-lift days and eat a reasonable amount of calories. Don't try to rush the process, it's a lifestyle change, not something you do for a month or two. Aim for a maximum calorie deficit of 800kcal, lower it down to 500-600kcal when you drop to 15-20%.

Welp, I posted today was either going to be a great or shitty day, and chose it for my cheat day.

I went out and had a flapjack and a brownie, then drove 20 miles to the nearest McDonalds and ate pic related. Or most of it. Made it through two and a half burgers, one and a bit fries, and the apple pie.

Thing is... I didn't enjoy it. It didn't taste good after two months on diets and interm fasting.

Anyone else experianced this? On one hand, it's great that I'm just not going to miss the shitty foods anymore like I was, and I doubt i'll bother with a cheat day again. At least not one made of fast food. On the other, I always kind of hopes I'd still enjoy the food I used to, but my tastes seem to have completely altered.

Not a clue bro. That used to be a standard (if rare due to distance) McD for me. It's likely going to be years before I bother to eat there again. I'm genuinely happy on my diet, and was craving memories tinted by grass-greener mentality, so there we go.
