I'm a trip part of the /fat/ weigh in thing....

I'm losing my mind right now, have been losing weight pretty well for months and have been dedicated to working out and eating right. Have made progress but this week has been the worst one in years. I'm at the point of needing comfort food and cannabis this Friday and Saturday

One more weigh in, and I'm going all out for the weekend, will be stuffing my face full and probably won't leave the house for days after...

5 slices of bacon

Dinner tends to be whatever I feel like. Last night it was shredded chicken, chorizo and ground beef with taco mix. Threw in like 2 oz of queso, ate pretty damn good.

Totally changed up my diet, never snack anymore and I do a hour of lap swimming three times a week.

Okay that gives me some hope. I started at 6'0" 290ish lbs, and while I was obviously obese I don't feel like I looked like a blimp like some other fat people, I think I wore the weight well. I am about halfway to a normal BMI and I am not seeing too drastic skin sag, just a little in the arms but I hope by doing what you say it will help eliminate it.

I was just terrified I was gonna look like some people like the obese to beast guy who looks terrible, but I think his height and starting weight were pretty different from mine and he looked way fatter.

I'm 280 and I need to cut down. I stopped drinking sugary shit and went only to water and 2% milk, occasionally going for Muscle Milk because my job's mildly physical.

I'm also eating omelettes and chicken now because A, cheap, and B, I hear both are healthy. Took me a few days to get used to, but my cravings are killing me.

Eating avocado and almonds helps quite a bit with suppressing appetite, and I know for me that painful hunger and access to junk foods was my downfall so getting rid of the bad foods and eating stuff that is very filling will help with your cravings I think. I'm sure there are other foods but these two work very well for me, totally suppress my appetite, just find something you like and can realistically eat every day.

There is no guide to pick a gym because it's very obvious what you should primarily look for (price, location, hours, and of course if they have a lot of equipment).

Also keto isn't for everyone. Some people can do really well on it, others hate it. I'd give it at least 2-3 weeks before you make your mind up though because the first week is hell. While on keto the majority of your kcal should come from fat. Hope this clears things up.

How do you guys quickly regain your motivation if you get off track? I am getting fairly close to a decent weight (6', 185lbs now, trying to get to 170-175) and I keep getting derailed. After being extremely disciplined for a few months and losing 30 lbs, I keep slipping up. It usually starts with having a few beers to unwind, which then leads to bad food choices. I'm not piling on pounds, but I feel like I keep gaining and losing the same 3-5 lbs now for a few weeks. I think because my gut is mostly gone, it isn't as motivating to just look at myself in the mirror anymore.

Alright so I think I have hit a plateau.
My weight has stayed pretty much the same the last two weeks. I have stayed under my daily calorie limit these two weeks, but before that I had cheat meals practically once a week, but then I still lost weight.

In theory I disagree with it but in practice I've seen it at least appear to work. Probably correlation and not causation. I would think you would be best to wait it out, make sure you're not doing something wrong, and make sure you're not just backed up with five pounds of shit or something. Which can happen.

There are a million starter routines out there. If you're a complete noob just do the big four and you'll make huge gains. Maybe even just start with bodyweight stuff, because if you're a complete noob fifty pushups and fifty bodyweight squats will prob give you doms for days. Weigh day today, managed to drop another 2lbs from last week, but I feel like my progress is really slow.
Anyone else worry they aren't losing weight fast enough?
I went from 214.5lbs to 212.5lbs but I still don't feel like I'm making progress, over all I've lost 18lbs since I started but it feels like I've stalled and I'm only dropping a lb or two now.

I've made a lifestyle change, I go on long walks, I don't drink soda anymore. I haven't had fast food in a long time.
Maybe I need to step it up and instead of just hitting my calorie intake for the day, I should exercise more on top of that.
(currently I'm below the breadline too so that's pretty fun. I wind up cooking fried onion in stock with some extra fat added in, 3 times a day to try and make up my calories.)

2lb a week is still good and constant progress, I know myself how annoying it is to find time or willpower to exercise more but when you're already losing weight steadily that exercise is going to make the different between 2lb week and possibly 4lb or more (depending on how intense you train)

I just did the normal recommended compound exercises mwf with isolation or cardio on the other days. Also avoided most carbs beyond rice, fruits, vegetables , etc
Calorie counting helped as well. About 500 below maintenance
