That's common knowledge and lots of studies confirm it. Real life also agrees because only skinny people eta a lot and only fat people diet. In fact, I would be hard-pressed to even name someone fat irl that eats a lot. All fatties I know don't eat nearly as much as the skinny people.

So - eat more, train more. Be active. Do it like the skinny runts.

Fruit isn't satiating, this is meme mom science shit if you were to actually look into proper scientific journals, or look at people who actually are fit (and not trying to sell you something) you would know this.
Fruit is sugar with neglible fiber, it tastes good and there are good properties to it (particularly antioxidants and different phytochemicals) but for satiety they are shit.
Add some veggies anon and don't eat breakfast, it only makes some more hungry (I get hungrier after eating for the first time in the day, so I wait till 4 pm everyday at least).

Satiety doesn't have to do with nutrients but macros, some people have cravings for specific things if they are SEVERELY lacking (would otherwise write off as fatty cravings usually).
Eat more fat and protein, eat high volume things such as vegetables (starches aren't high volume to calorie), drink water and take caffeine.
And eat later. Don't listen to a fatass on here that is trying to justify wanting sugar, no one says you need to eat all 5 groups to be full has actually made it.

Healthy (if you don't cover it with shit) but there are far better vegetables out there for losing weight, root vegetables are usually eaten in a bulk, not when losing weight.
Of course if you can lose weight on a food item and remain satiated you should do it, especially since the food item is healthy.
Just wanted to warn that if someone is having trouble staying full that root vegetables can be replaced by other vegetables pretty easily.
Keep losing weight brothers, and lift lest you become skinnyfat (where I'm at now).
You're going to have to overcome gym anxiety at some point so might as well do it when the burned calories will be a boon instead of a curse.
By the time you are done losing weight you could be at month 4 or 5 of lifting progression instead of starting at the bottom.

Anything that's non essential that's calorie dense and low volume. Eating meat is fine. Volume only lasts for a shorter period but is still essential to feel satisfied for less calories, fat and protein are filling and last a long time so eat up.
Fiber allows you to feel full longer.
Carbs aren't the devil but they hardly do shit for fullness, if you eat bread and get full it's more likely the fiber and volume than the actual calories you consumed.
I would recommend eating your carbs before working out for energy, you'll be able to workout harder and will burn off that easy energy.
Fruit is very healthy with many benefits, but it doesn't benefit weight loss really.
Personally an apple is quite satiating if I chase it down with a liter of water so it's what I eat when I'm peckish.

Meat can be had for very cheap in America, I can get lean chicken breast for 2 dollars a pound and if you get beef cuts that are on their way out you can get them for cheap too.
I wouldn't say beans are more filling (as long as you have fiber in the dish), instead of the extra carbs associated with beans I rather have more fat since it's more filling.
Beans are more healthy though and I eat them on bulk and cut if I'm otherwise not hungry, but I rather get my fiber from greens and get my fat from a fatty piece of steak/fish.
Not keto or afraid of carbs but if those 30 g of sugar isn't going to do anything to my appetite, but 10 g of fat is.

If we are talking about pure health I would add that more beans should be eaten along with fatty fish twice or so a week.
Tests on cholesterol are inconclusive in recent papers "debunking" it so be careful and limit your meat and egg intake.

It's best to increase slowly when you are a newbie, at maintenance you're going to be building muscle since you are used to just lifting at a deficit.
After that stalls eat 300 above maintenance for a while, if that stalls go to 500.
Shouldn't have to go above that very much but you might have to depending on your building/amount of cardio.

Don't be terrified of gaining weight but be aware of the fat you accumulate when bulking, don't bulk for a month and call it quits, bulk for at least 4 to 6 months and then a little fat if desired.

Guy you were replying to, I was half memeing but am curious if you are right.
There are a lot of soy products in veganism (not completely convinced phytoestrogen does much, especially compared to real estrogen in dairy).
My personal experience with vegans have had them all be very low test, but that might just be low-test people being drawn to veganism.

For anyone interested in exercise but having trouble finding motivation, or uninterested in working yourself to exhaustion:

Consider getting a fitness band or watch like the Garmin Vivofit, Fitbit Charge HR, or even just using your phone's pedometer or a fitness app.

When I was starting out, having achievable goals like walking 10 flights of stairs every day, 10k steps, 5 miles, was very helpful to me.

I kept those goals as a daily minimum while consciously trying to push my limits, often doubling them.

Also, start slow the first week, give your body time to adjust (and I dont mean go slow, get that heart pumping as fast as you can but stop when you reach your limit and walk until you can go again). It only takes a week or two for your body to adjust and become a running machine. After a month or two you'll be running further and faster than you thought you ever could, it's kind of fun. God I hate running.

But : yes they are necessary, beginner or advanced. Your body needs time to recover. Alternate lifting and cardio days, or switch to a program where you work different muscle groups on different days so you are lifting more often.

The entire point of the diet is to stay full, without blood sugar spikes throughout the day you don't get that hungry.
Also for people who are eating few calories and have trouble going to sleep without a full stomach (you can't eat all the day's food right before bed).
Not a fad diet at all because there are plenty of actual scientific research behind it, like your body producing HGH while fasted after waking (only for a few hours though).
IF isn't a fad, people have been doing forever, now it just has a name.
Fasting in and of itself isn't a fad diet either, wouldn't recommend extremely long fasting but some people seem to have good results after fasting for a couple days, less cravings for sugar.

Personally I do it because when I eat carbs it only makes me hungrier, so eating at night makes me eat less and allows me to be more "constant" as my body isn't undergoing 5 different sugar roller coasters throughout the day.

Assuming you are about 220lbs, that will be a 20lbs drop. Realistic only if you are strict with your diet. If you lose 1lb a week you can easily hit that goal.
