I have a few goals I would like to accomplish but have been having a really tough time! I'm looking for critiques on my routine and goals, and how to get there.

My short term goals are to get my deadlift and squat pr to 500, and to be able to do 15 weighted pull ups with a 45lbs belt.

Mid length goal is to get to sub 14% body fat and increase the size of my arms and shoulders

Long term goal is to be able to muscle up, and get to 1400lbs 3 lift max.(deadlift, squat, bench)

here's my routine. no diet really, i just try to keep sugar to a minimum.

Mon: Bench 4x5, incline db press 3x8, flat Db fly4x12, standing barbell curl 4x5, preacher curl 3x5, weighted push up 3x30, weighted dips 3x8, weighted pull ups 3x8.

TUE: wide grip pull up 4xtofail, rows 4x8, cable row 3x8, lat pull down 3x12, hang leg lift 4xtofail, 10 min run, ladder of 7 stairs.

WED: run at home for 1.5 miles

THUR: Mil press 4x5, upright row 4x8, db lat raises 3x12, bent reverse fly 4x8, skull crusher 4x8, close grip bench 3x8, rope push down 3x12, hanging knee raises 4xtofail, 10 min run, ladder of 7 stairs.

Friday:Back squat 4x6, leg press 4x8, deadlift 4x8, leg curl 4x12. calf raise 4x12, pull ups, 3xtofail, weighted push ups 3x25.

I just had to force myself to drink water all the time. Drinking water, even when I didn't care for it, kept me from being thirsty thus keeps me from wanted sugar water as much.

I just order unsweet tea at restaurants and I've developed enough of a taste for that. If I really want soda I'll drink a coke zero. Sometimes I'll buy one of those overpriced mexican bottle cokes. Mainly because it is overpriced so I won't bulk spurge that shit, plus it feels like more because it's a long bottle when it's really just as much as a can usually.

When I work out I just have my water bottle, no gatorade. You don't need anything else to work out.

Just force yourself and honest to god after half a year you're doing it.

I've actually gone from plateauing on my lifts to increasing them.

I think occam's razor is actually right on weight loss, which is if you stop eating completely for a week or two, restart your metabolism for a few days, and repeat you will slim down ASAP and there's no real serious consequences associate with it.

Browse /fit/ as a whole and not just /fat/, /fat/ is good for motivation but isn't as knowledgeable on weight lifting.
Yes you should lift weights.
Bodyweight doesn't really affect how you should lift, at least not as much as cardio does (don't run if you're obese, swim, cycle, or walk).
Just do the normal beginner routines, SS with a few accessories (things like pullups might be impossible for quite a while though).
You will get stronger and eventually will get weaker as you lose a lot of weight.
Lifting preserves muscle and increase your TDEE, it also makes your body not shit.

Remember skinny shouldn't be your goal, a good looking and healthy body should do it, and that won't happen without muscle.
Don't be demotivated that you aren't getting big lifts when losing weight, you'll be thankful you did it once you lose the fat since you won't be entirely skinnyfat.

Protip for everyone ITT: Losing weight from fat status isn't cutting, cutting is something someone with muscle does to expose muscle definition.

I was 280, been lifting since 09. Built like a fridge as well. I started slimming down recently and I've gone down to 198lbs. My greatest tip to you is to keep grinding,eat,sleep,piss,and shit this fit life. Make it your life anon. Pretend you're about to compete for something like the nfl or a fighting tournament to save the world.

Most importantly Make sure you think off food as a extension of your training. we're gonna make it, persevere. And if you fuck up and binge, get back to calorie counting and continue on the right path.

For me I had too many rationalizations to not start drinking water. I cut out all excessive sugars except a cup of juice or soda a day usually at lunch or after a workout. Not even a week into drinking water, I didn't mind it anymore.
One thing is being around sugar addicts. Like you quit smoking but you see others smoking around you. But at the same time I could see how their behavior patterns were... immature in a way. A lot of it is dependent on the foods and drinks we consume, and when we consume them. People who drink coffees, sodas, etc throughout the day are overall less energetic, and more prone to being hyperactive vs being low.

Read up on how cardio might increase metabolism for the rest of the day, might interest you.
At this point just build muscle and keep losing weight, you are at the most frustrating level where you have tits and a stomach but your BMI is healthy.
Make sure not to fall for the lean bulk meme, if you gain anymore you will be out of the BMI range so just get to a nice crispy 170 or so with lifting and go from there.

it's not about not cutting or bulking that people are warning you about, it's about the endless cut/bulk cycle which usually consists of small cuts and mini-bulks. Essentially people are telling you to either cut hard now so you can bulk for long, or to bulk long now and have to cut hard later, but don't have small increments of each along the way that will stall your progress and fuck you up mentally.
There's no point cutting again after starting your first bulk (if you're doing it right) until you can safely expect to see a good twenty pounds of muscle underneath. It's just my opinion.

I'd like to get some source on why a lean bulk is bad too...The way I see it, I'd rather take a clean controlled approach to my weight gain than to just dirty bulk and put on three fourth of it in fat.
In the end though, you decide what to do with your body, what memes are worth falling for or not.

ah I see. I track that too but without knowing the actual proper mathematical names for such statistics. Best i did was a couple of quantitative analysis courses in undergraduate. I can read data just fine, but the math behind it, I leave it to those stats softwares.

Anyway for my almost two months and a half of weight loss, I have an average of 0.152g daily. It's not bad, though I was racking up some 0.2/0.3 at the beginning. And you have to take into account plateaus, regressions and such.

This is a tricky question because the license can be ridiculously easy to get and there are PTs out there injuring people for a living. An experienced friend can often be a better option. Having said that, the main lifts are usually not too hard to learn on one's own (barring oly stuff). If you start easy, you will learn much by yourself along the way.

One good method is filming yourself lift and asking others. But the reviewer has to know how close to your max you are, as good form is easy to fake with light weights.

Of course you can play it safe and pay somebody who comes with good recommendations. You won't grieve for the costs in the long run.

You're in a weight loss thread when you point out several times your problem is depression.

Losing weight is a good idea and it sounds like you want to ,so just start counting calories and walking every day if your foot allows it (if not do a different activity if you can)

But more importantly, get help for your depression. Get actual help from a professional, because if you don't take care of it it'll fuck everything up for you long term.

First of all, I'm gonna warn you right here anon, you're going to need to lift and do cardio (preferably HIIT 3 times a week) unless you want to look like a sack of skin, fat and bones by the time you're done cutting.
Second of all, you're not going to get very far with a PPL routine if it's your first time lifting.
Why? Because you don't have the strenght to make the gains you think you'll make now.
Start a beginner strenght program (SS, SL, GSLP amongst many others) and build your strenght up for a good six months, then switch to an aesthetics focused program.

I kinda started... late april, I think. But I didn't think I'd do too well just going down right away so I slowly worked my way down. I lost weight slowly until about 4 weeks ago when I got to eat as little as now. Don't feel hungry or anything most days, though.

imo it's better than not lifting at all. you're literally at entry level beginner programs, there's not much you can do. An intermediate or advanced lifter may do an aesthetic based routine while cutting and lose some strenght gains he can afford to lose. You're at the point in the journey where you need every bit of strenght you can get, but still, if you're in dangerously overweight to obese territory, bulking might be counter-productive (which I assume is the case as you're in this thread). So keep cutting and try out all the common techniques to break through a plateau for a while, in the meantime, and increase other lifts. When you'll be at a low enough bf% you can start bulking and your lifts will increase again (I'd recommend then moving to an intermediate strenght program like the Texas Method until you build back strenght, then you can do an aesthetic program straight after).

Never. Everyone has a daily weight range. Weigh yourself throughout the day and learn how your body reacts to water and food. I generally gain about 6-5 lb throughout the day. The trend is what matters.

I'll have oil based condiments, such as vegan mayonnaise, ceasar, vinegraitte and as many others as you can think of, oil based nut butters such as almond butter, peanut butter, cashew butter, oil rich nuts (see list above and more), directly using oil as a cooking method for frying, stir frying vegetables and grains.

What is more retard, a teaspoon of oil is like 50 calories, you most certainly don't neeed a gallon of it in your down syndrome induced fantasy to meet your fat macro in your "diet".

Realistically, couple teaspoons of oil for cooking, couple teaspoons of condiments for seasoning, couple teaspoons of nut butters for desserts/shakes, couple palms of nuts should help you meet 1/2 of your caloric intake and most of those have some protein to them like nut based products. So you're really making it look more difficult than it really is to get your calories in on a vegan diet.

I don't know my exact kcal intake but I can tell you what I eat:
breakfast - about 250g of yoghurt
lunch - 3 eggs and a tomato or two or chicken breasts about 300g (maybe more maybe less)
dinner - a bowl of broccoli

in between - sometimes nuts (about 100g) or carrots (2 or 3)

Also, what's your goal weight? You're only slightly overweight on the BMI scale, but I'm guessing your body fat % is high.

Pretty much objective, the cheapest diet would be a plant based diet that allows any food since eggs are very cheap and meat can be found at extremely low prices when you get the shit cuts they are about to throw out.

This is coming from someone who mostly eats plants and substitutes meat with gluten, yes someone can make veganism affordable but objectively it is harder for someone who limits themselves to what they can eat to get nutrients and to get the best deals.
Calories are easy to get though and protein too, just need to make sure to fit in dat dere amino acid profile.
