So with keto you lose your glycogen and the water that is associated with it. That is about 5lb of weight. You didn't actually lose that weight though, because it is not like losing fat. Instead when you get off of keto you are going to gain that back as a healthy person will always have that 5lb of glycogen and water.

So really you lost like 20lb instead of 25lb which means the stall isn't as bad as you think. Keep at it and you will continue to lose.

Go easy your first week or two, I don't know if you suffer from anxiety, but I did/do, and it took a while to feel comfortable at the gym but the reality is noone will even notice you (unless you are really fat in which case 99% of people will think good on you or if you're really good looking or something).

Machines are often talked about negatively because /fit/ is a bunch of dyel SS noobfaggots. With machines, you greatly limit the risk of injuries from bad form, you get to push as hard you can without worrying about a 200lbs barbell falling on your ass, and since you're a noobie, I assume you're somewhat limited in the amount of exercises you know.
I recommend you do every single upper-body machine your gym has. Lower body is less relevant considering lunges and squats hit them plentiful.

I generally do. I have switched my meals to much smaller with more focus on healthier choices and smaller portions. I've attempted this before in the past but I find it doesn't work always since she will either snack on food soon after or want a large dessert.

I lost 40 lbs of baby weight in about a month. Obviously a lot of it was fluid, but I was simply too exhausted to eat as well.


It was fucking hell after that though, couldn't seem to lose more than 10 lbs all year. Things are just starting to pick up though, albeit I yo-yo a whole lot. Post-pregnancy weight loss is no joke. It took a mess of fasting/IF regimes to get things kick-started for me. I had the heaviest period of my life this week so I hope that's a sign of my pre-pregnancy homornal balance returning.
She might benefit from IF, but whatever time she dedicates to fitness, that anon has to pick up the slack.

Hey /fat/, been losing weight for about a month and a bit now. Don't know how much I'm down but definitely lost a bit. It's not been too hard cutting out the amount of sugar and fast food I was eating, and instead exercising whenever I start to crave.

Today was the day I felt most like breaking. I went to try on some new pants but none of them fit correctly, and it's not that their too big or small its that I have pockets of fat and flab that just haven't gone and this made the pants tight around the crotch area mainly (I want straight fits), desu I tried on so many and couldn't get a good fit that it made me angry, but that anger turned to sadness when I thought of how only 2 years ago I was relatively slim weight of 12 stone (6'1 height). I never had confidence at that weight and always hated myself but at least I didn't have a fucked up body shape and fat under my chin as I do now. I don't think I've ever been as close to killing myself but I can't give up. I'm just depressed that I'll probably never be like I was again. Everything about me (posture) etc is fucked.

Sorry for the diary type post but you guys are the only people I can talk to about this.

okay it's time to clam down. There's two ways to go about this, hear me out now : one you can go the healthy sane route and not give in to the self hatred that you feel after failure because it is not productive, not helping you advance in any way into your betterment and actually start loving yourself no matter what and seeing the bigger picture. Hey bro, it's 100% possible to get back to where you were.

2 years ago I was at 110kg (240lb iirc, at 6'2) and my posture was fucked - hunched over, one shoulder pulled forward, in constant pain.

Saw a dietitian, made some easy changes to my diet. That alone lost me 15kg over 18 months, just from swapping out pasta/microwave food for easy shit like rice, oats, fish, fruit smoothies. Literally no extra effort, no counting calories or worrying about keto or any of that shit, just eating one set of easily prepared food instead of another. I still snacked when I was out (tried to keep it to 80/20).

Then I started exercising. Put a treadmill in front of the TV, and spent 15 minutes on a day while watching TV. Slowly ramped up to 30/40 minutes a day, just jogging while watching TV or listening to podcasts. Within a few months I'd dropped another 12kg.

Now I'm down to 76kg (167lb). Shifted my BMI from 29.5 (with 30 being medical obesity) to 22.

I also started stretching, again just 10 - 30 minutes a day while watching TV/movies/podcasts, straightened my spine out, loosened my shoulders, aligned my hips properly. It's so much more comfortable now, and people would actually comment on how I seemed taller.

Start slow, don't try to go balls deep with calory counting and broscience, all that does is stress people out.

Just focus on basic lifestyle changes, calories out > calories in, see a dietician to figure out what you need to fix in terms of food (seriously, this helps a ton, don't rely on the internet). Do a bit of stretching, and work to increase your exercise from month to month. It'll be slow, but the changes will be easy and permanent.

think of it as a containment protocol. in case of intrusive binging thoughts, try to propose alternative emergency "exits" to going through with the urge, and implement enough of those diversions up to the point where the craving will subside, or you will lose interest.
One thing you can do is the bait and switch reward system : basically when you feel like binging, go to the place of binging (physically and emotionally) and just buy a water, or a salad. That way you will have bypassed a habitual cognitive route into becoming a healthy response (and basically don't have to do all the mental weight lifting in your decision center because thoughts have mass depending on their depth, and you can feel like you're being overloaded easily starting to combat binging.) What's more you can reap the benefits of the reward as in endorphins and serotonin from the "good boy" part of the brain that rewards good behavior. Keep doing it until you're high on the good life. Chase the feeling of doing what you really want to do in terms of health, and you'll be there in no time.
other ideas might come from googling reward switch, decision center in the brain, cognitive systems to fix unhealthy habits in psychocognitive therapies. they have really good tools, I am not a scholar, but remember most of this from a class and since then it has established deep rooted systems in my brain that I wouldn't know how they function, but they do work about making "good" decisions. I did a 2 miles at no resistance as a warm up before doing 10 sets up 60/30s at 4 resistance for the rest and 7 for the Sprint.
And then I did about 45 min of wieghts.

What helped me out a lot was just starting to lift and not focusing a whole lot about diet. Once you learn that one bad meal or day doesn't mess up your life, you'll be able to commit to losing weight. I stopped drinking dairy and drink all of my water in stainless steel bottles. Would carbs be a problem? I eat a shit ton of them.

I've been doing the "Simple and Sinister" routine of 10 sets of 10 swings and 5 get ups per arm as my morning workout.

Seemed reasonably ideal for /fat/ since you can do the routine in your living room and the only equipment is a big iron ball with a handle.

I did keto twice, First time I lost weight and hardly ate because it killed my appetite

Second I had to restrict calories because I ate so much

I currently float between 1300-1500 calories intake a day. I do full body work out 3 days a week and heavy cardio + light lifting the other 2 days. These work outs are in the morning at gym 1 (LA Fitness). I work an active job 9-10 hours a day. I was thinking of signing up for a 2nd gym (planet fitness) so I can work out a 2nd time in the same day as planet fitness is open 24/7 and only 20 minutes from home.

Is this viable as a long term solution? I'm also hoping the 2nd work out would help me sleep. I have a tendency to stare at the ceiling fan for 3+ hours usually. And before anyone mentions the downside of paying for 2 gyms, don't waste your time. $45 a month for gym memberships pales to the $400+ I used to spend on fast food. I'm 6'4" and 25 yo if that matters.

Nah it's cool. And it's easy when your an anxiety eater. Shit wasn't always as good as it is now in my house/within my family. When people get depressed, nervous, or anxious, they usually have some way of calming down. Some smoke, so do drugs, some drink. I would eat. I would eat enough to make my stomach hurt every time. I would look forward to the pain.

I arrived at an ultimatum one day after another binge. I would either lose all the weight, or kill myself. I hadn't offed myself until this point because deep down I know someone would have to deal with my quarter ton corpse somehow. And with my luck, my little sister would be the one to find me. My lowest recently was 275lbs but I ballooned back up because my binge eating still wasn't entirely under control. It's why I'm at 350lbs again. I'm better at not binge eating now. So the weight has to go.
