Not to be a dink but I'd seriously consider Starting Strength if you're beginning (read the book though, the exercise lists floating around the net masquerading as SS are not what SS actually is).

My friend and I both took our deadlifts from 185# to 405# in 21-23 weeks on it and we're not great athletes at all.

My tendonitis was just above the knee. It came gradually over some weeks of being extra tight, then one day it was just excrutiating and I couldn't squat for several months.
Back off before it develops any further imho.

Breh it's nice. Semester ended well, working normal hours is soooooo nice. My job is pretty chill, and having a gf finally is very cool (((so far))).

Lifting is going pretty well too. I have 90% singles this week and squat and bench were both ezpz, doing deadlift today and hopefully that'll follow. Technique in all 3 lifts feels good too. Really getting my hopes waaayyyyyy too high for the August competition.

Imo 5/3/1 should be reserved for people who are focusing on other sports or have a really tough manual labor job. However, if you're a fairly advanced lifter it isn't the worst option. Lifts shouldn't be considered through numbers since different people hit different numbers at different speeds. It should be based on ability to progress.

BBB has higher volume, but the meaningful volume from them doesn't kick in until you work your way up to variant 2 imo. However, it's still better than doing the jack shit variant.
