Can do 9 without much issue (haven't tried to see how many till failure)

Like 73kg/180cm

Lifting for like 8 months
>>
>>35723279

16 without weight added, working on getting to reps w/ 75lbs added (hit 57.5 for 4 this morning)

After I hit 75lbsx5 or 100x5 I might hit up high reps and get to doing like 30in a row or something. over 15 reps is hell tho and not really fun imo.
>>
Wow guys grow some balls and go all out on pullups its more important than squats

40 daily, 67 max
75kg, 6 ft
Been physically fit for entire life, lifting for 2 years
>>
>>35723709

Is increasing (each week) 1 rep/per 1 set too slow of progress in pullups?
>>
>>35723724
Honest to god if you have a huge fire inside of you and do them daily I could see 5 rep per week increase as likely
>>
>>35723279
I can do about 3 with the narrow grips
6'2
88kg
It gets easier the more weight I lose right?
>>
>>35723732

I see, thanks, but I only do them when I train my back aka 1 day per week.

I will start working back 2 days a week tho, I heard that 2:1 exercise ratio (back to chest) is ideal to improve posture (thoughts on this)?
>>
>>35723709

I don't train for endurance. So while you're struggling away trying to get those endurance reps I just added weight and got stronger and increased my endurance at the same time.

Get on my level bitch boy.
>>
>>35723756

Yeah you dont have to do them daily but pullups is an workout that you cannot go wrong with. More = better no matter what, so you can do them daily, fuck do them 10 times a day

Wide grip pullups are a shit ton different to close grip pullups.

>>
Most based way to do pull ups is this.

Do then slowly and wide grip, pull chin to right hand, then to middle, then to left hand. Then left, middle, right. Consider that one rep. Go for 12 of these. You wont make it but damn is it effective.
>>
>>35724024
I do something similar, pull up to left hand hold slide to right then back down, then reverse it right to left.
>>
Depends on the pullup.
to failure: 15 narrow grip, 8 wide grip, and around 20 chin ups i guess? i don't do them much they seem too easy compared to the others.

65 kg
3 months working on them gainz

I'm close to 3x5, what's the best way to add weight to the pullup? So far the only reliable way that doesn't cost anything seems to be a backpack.
>>
I switch between chinups and pullups every other day, is this alright?
>>

None. Im a grill, started lifting 1month ago, a male friend of mine says i will never do it bcause its extremely hard forma girls. The real thing is that at least i want to do 5 just to see if i can improve. 59kg 170cm, what do you recommend me? I have back problem because of my posture when studying (computer science, all the fucking day with pc) i should train my back, that is what my medic said.

I'm struggling like hell with pullups because something's wrong with my right arm. When I try to pull up, I get this soft pain in my tricep-area on my right arm, and my right shoulder(I think) makes this weird clicking noise when I do the pull-up movement in general. What do?
>>
>>35728073
Girls can do pullups, a chick I used to climb with could do 10+

Should i use the pull up machine with low weight? Im with 25kg now... Reaching my real weight seems like hell.
>>
>>35728073
Losing weight in general helps a ton, do curls and db bent over rows. If you can curl a decent amount of weight, you will be able to do chins and then you can move on to pullups. Don't do assisted shit, neither bands nor leg pushing or machine because they teach you the wrong form. Everything jerky like jumping on the bar and kipping has a high risk of injury and is just plain retarded. Proper form on negatives is hard early on and they never did much for me. I was stuck on 3 for a long time until I just chose to progress on different lifts and came back to it later.
>>
>>35728142
Thanks!
>>
>>35728160
Ok, Thanks, i have skinny arms and they hurt me a lot when trying to do a pull up. Maybe i should solve that before

Push ups helped me to gain the strenght to do pull ups before i started going to the gym.

Besides pull ups, we have the lat pull down which will help (but not as much as push ups)

>>35723279

lifting for a year and a half, but been doing push ups and pull ups since being a wee lad
>>
>>35728025
Yes. Just make sure to do pull ups with a wide grip and chin ups with arms squared to your inner shoulders.
>>
>>35728214
Nice, thanks!
>>
>>35728159
That and controlled negatives, chin ups are easier to achieve, so might be worth working on them first
>>
>>35728073
Girls can do pull ups just fine, it's just a tad harder made somewhat harder by lack of usage of those particular muscles in the average female day.

I have female friends who refuse to try it because 'it's impossible'.

Meanwhile I also see girls doing them at the gym with no problem. Your friend is a moron.

Start with lat pulldowns, if you've got the time add some rowing. You'll be pulling up in no time.
