Been seeing alot more skinny beta boys in the gym recently and I don't think they are January resolutioners because this started happening before November. Some of them look like your average basement dweller physique with absolutely horrible genetics and skinnyfat bodies. Anybody else notice skinny dude infux in your gyms?
You may think that's me, but I actually was 5'7" 160 pretty lean before hit with severe depression and manic episodes. I stopped gymming for about a year and a half and became fattish 170. Been back since early December, down to 149, bulking up muscles I want to focus on, and almost see my abs again.
Took a serious caloric deficit and 3-4 hours a day 5 days a week of pretty intense cardio, though. Working on bulking my hip abductors to get dem wide hips and same for glutes, since I have almost none thanks to quad dominance.
Goal is basically trap mode of your pic related with smaller arms.

Not really trapping. Going for full-time passing. My arms are too big, though, and the fact that bodybuilding made my upper lats larger means my arms look bigger by my sides, because the lats press on them, especially with narrow shoulders. They were almost 16" flexed, but now they are down to 13". Trying to get them toned, but sub 12".

I'm one of them and it's honestly because the One Punch Man anime came out in October and it got me motivated as shit to get my life together.
Given how popular it got I wouldn't be surprised if more people started going to the gym because of it, or at least started running.

The hours that I go to my gym always see the same people, whether It's mid Summer of New Years Day. So the January clusterfuck was never an issue for me, although I do appreciate the joke observing it it through collateral gossip. Last time I renewed my membership I asked the gym owner if it was the busy time of year, and she said she was surprised that it started early this time. Just like OP said she noticed a big influx of new members in the late fall of last year. I wonder if there was a worldwide calling, maybe Scooby rang a bell they all heard and came running.
