i really want to get better at running, atm i can barely last 20 minutes on the treadmill
the only thing stopping me is my right ankle that starts hurting after 10 minutes
i dont want to risk injury by just ignoring the pain
anybody has an idea what might cause it?
im not fat 5'10 152 lbs
I actually have 2 more of these
Rotate your ankle and massage it for 5 mins before/after going to the gym. Get blood flowing in it. After, use an elliptical machine/stationary bike if impact from running on treadmill is too uncomfortable.
red area is what keeps me from going on
achilles tendond also feels weird somehow but its not restricting me in anyway
im running because i want to become a better runner, build endurance and because i have a treadmill at my homegym
Be safe anon
Could look for a torrent of this. Try the stretches in this pic 15-30 seconds each see if they help at all with a quick fix.
Hello guys, I'm looking for a pic that I found around here a long time ago. It was a running program and mixed it up with sprints/walks and runs. I think it was supposed to make you run 5k in a month? (or 3 months?). If anyone has it it would be great.
1. Get some proper shoes, (Puma Narita v2s are decent and not too pricey).
2. Tech check. look at your form (suggested already), your injury suggests you're heel striking which is a big no no (I learned this the hard way).
Bonus: When you change up your technique, it will feel great for a bit, then your calves will tire, and your arches will begin to ache, push yourself, but not too hard. You'll need to build up calf strength (the arch pain will go too). Rinse and repeat and running will become the easiest, most comfortable thing in the world.
