What's the point in lifting if you don't have the V taper?

I mean I was able to have a v-taper at a high body fat percentage. I'm currently 12% and still obviously have the taper, but I was trying to say I can keep the taper even when I bulk.
Guess it came out wrong. Now I feel/look stupid...

No point at all. If you do not currently have a "V taper" just stop all forms of exercise right not forever because there is not point.
