When does /fit/ drink their protein shakes? Pre-, during- or post-workout?
Exactly this, protein powder is there to supplement the lack of protein in your own diet, if it lacks, you take a scoop and you're good, if you're not lackigng protein then you don't take it at all.

I liks to mix mine with soda water and drink it as quickly as possible JUST before squats, i find this gives me a serious energy boost.
Also seems to work well when stacked with roast beef.
