I'm 5'7, and 167 pounds I got a little chub and somewhat soft hips (kinda lovehandles).
I heard my friends saying that she can just get something like this by just doing cardio, yoga, and some ab workouts, I've been doing that for a bit and was wondering if it'll really turn out like this.

The amount of time it takes will vary based upon how hard you push, and how determined you are. Of course you won't look exactly like this, maybe better, maybe worse, again, depending upon how much effort you put in. Read the god damn sticky.
Just eat a caloric deficit, lift, and do cardio on off days.

some real advice from a 5'7 guy, went from 137 to 130 in 20 days or so. Simplest thing ever is go to the gym and do the bike, read the calories you're burning after an hour. Get a food scale and measure exactly how much calories you eat a day and calculate how much you burn a day, try going -500 calories a day and you'll lose a pound a week.

If you wanna lose weight, diet > exercise. Stick to your macros. Don't exceed your daily calorie budget. ESTIMATE CALORIES HIGH, it's really easy to underestimate and end up going over your goal.
Lose some fat first. Do cardio 5X a week. Eat 300 calories under your daily requirement. (Not 500 because you should also lift and you probably don't want to lose those tits or get sagging skin.) Lift 3x a week. Squats/deadlifts/bench.
