I don't know if Navy works the same as the army in regards to commissions but you would have been better off finishing your degree first then seeing the recruiter about (I'll just use army terms here) going to basic as a specialist then OCS right after. Because now you will have to finish your degree while active AND THEN if you get your kneepads handy you can get your chain of command to approve you going to OCS for your commission.
Yeah well, I'm kind of in a bind right now so I understand if it seems stupid in a vacuum. If I don't get advanced I'll gladly have the Navy finance my post-grad schooling as well.
Yeah no doubt. Like I said before I am in a bind and realize that's a much easier officer track, but that's not my main reason for signing on.
I never said I'd become an officer with any certainty as well. I know the odds. I may have made some dumbass decisions when I was younger but I'd pit my mental acuity against just about anyone.
