So I'm ditching soda as of recently, but occasionally I'll be eating shit food with friends and I can't imagine getting water.
Is there any downside to diet soft drinks? The 5 calorie and 0 calorie shit?

Diet coke is loaded with sodium. Try drinking water for the most part. Nothing hurts have 1 or 2 diet cokes on the weekends with friends, but if you wanna be the image of fitness and see massive gainz, your diet needs to be strict as fuck.. basically meaning meats that only provide B12 (taste like crap) such as skinless chick breast and fish, and lots of vegetables, fruits, rice and egg whites -- plus water and the occasional glass of natural 100% apple juice.
