What really fucks me off is faggots and bitches who join the gym just to turn up to try and fucking look good. They're not working hard, not putting effort in - they're there to try and attract attention when in reality they can't lift shit and are about as aesthetic as a toe nail.

Luckily, I've never actually even been inside a commercial gym. I started lifting in college, so I had the uni gym. And then I decided to put together my own home gym, since it would cost me less than 2 years of gym membership anyway and I could be super lazy and work at home, alone, and naked.
College gym didn't have NYR fags, but it had new semester fags, which are basically the same thing I guess.

It was my first day in the gym today. I took a training program from the sticky post here on /fit/. I was confident as i had prepared papers and i also had been watching a lot of videos on how to perform shit. I started with the bench press and it was all good because i had been doing this one before and i wasn't able to notice people looking at me because my eyes were up in the roof anyway.
I then saw that the place for Squat were available, so i rushed over there with my towel, notes and pen. I did one dip first and i fucked it up not having my foots flat. I got ashamed but tried it out once more. I still fucked up in the same way. There were people on both sides. Some were looking and some were not. Who would not honestly? A fatty trying to perform godlike methods. I got kinda ashamed of myself and went home.

I go a powerlifting gym which is just basically a converted warehouse full of bars and free weights with a few rarely used cardio machines upstairs.
Everyday I've been there since Jan 1st I've seen 5-10 people walk in and talk to the guy behind reception. Around 80% of them just turn around and leave, the remaining 20% stand around awkwardly doing curls and pushups.

my relative is getting fat as well now. And his wife is severely pregnant but you literally can't tell because she's so fat. 100% not exagerating that point at all. So I have another fatass baby relative to look forward to.
That entire family causes me to despair. He used to go for long walks every night and hit the gym regular, now he's twice as heavy as when he started dating her.

I had a routine and everything and was going hard for 9 months. Went from 340 to 260lbs in that time. Was aiming for 175lbs. I just lost sight of my goals, got lazy and too comfortabl and ended up back where i started because i couldn't control my eating.
I could tell everyone was proud of me and i feel ashamed that i failed. I bet everyone knew it was going to happen and it was nothing but a fluke.

I'm a very self-consensus guy. When i was 260lbs i was told my stomach looked like a deflated tire and my confidence that i worked so hard for disappeared in an instant. I proceeded to binge eat shortly after.
Uni gym. It doesn't really seem to get any busier around New Years. I guess it's mostly attended by people too young to have "get healthy" as a first priority for resolutions. It does get busier around the beginning of new terms, just new beginnings, or people that want to get back to it after they slacked off for mid terms and never came back.

Came home and posted about it here in an NYR thread and with a push from some anons I threw him together a care package of sorts, some whey, vitamins, supps, weighted chains, handwraps, just a ton of shit I either didnt use or had more of than I needed and tossed it in my trunk figuring I'd give it to him if/when I saw him again. He was there the next evening, it was like Christmas bruhs, I came in and chatted to him, got the stuff outta my car and watched him just light up, I felt like father fucking Christmas and spent 2 solid hours just going over shit and making notes for him. Spent some time on glorious diddlylift OHP bench and squat teaching proper form and covering basics, he managed surprisingly well, really well mannered kid, brokefag family like mine, used his first check from his first job to get the membership. I've seen him every time I go in, I'm there 5 days a week and worried he's gonna fuck himself up though... he's like my gym son, asking me questions, mirin' my lifts, just shooting shit in general. Even played a game of chess and took him for some post workout BBQ. It feels so fucking good /fit/ I need this kid to make it.

I used to when i was smaller. I used to do an hour of cardio every time i went to the gym. One time i managed to "burn" 1450cal on a treadmill but to be honest i don't really trust those treadmill cal tickers. lol
Starting out i would power walk for so long then jog and then run when 5 minutes were left. When i got to my last minute i would sprint as fast i as i could. Seeing a 260lb guy sprint is funny i would assume but i did it. Felt alive every time i did it. I dunno how well those treadmills track speed but the highest i got was 11mph but as i said i don't really trust those things.
You piece of shit, you wasted all that time for nothing. You better go back out there and lose all that weight again, and if you don't do it this time you're never gonna do it. You'll die a lone and a loser. Don't stop until you hit 180. It's gonna take you a year or two but if you don't do it NOW you NEVER WILL.

It depends what time you go. I used to go to my old base's gym at around 8pm and leave at closing. Most of the base would get off work around 4pm or 430 and the gym would be filled with every meme that you can think of. After that, it was just the regulars.

It's already game over, aesthetics wise, if someone goes past a certain weight. The fatest I've been was 200lbs at 5'9 a few years ago and now my back is full of stretch marks. Luckily that was my wake-up call. So yeah, good for them on wanting to make a change but it's only going to benefit them health wise.
