I have a repaired aortic coarctation (google if interested)

Anyways I can't do weightlifting because the process of weightlifting requires us to somethings do the Valsalva maneuver (when you breathe against a closed throat), which raises blood pressure and increases potential damage to my blood vessels

It's not a end all be all kind of thing, but its a general consensus among doctors that it should be avoided, even though my repair procedure went OK when I was 5 (24 now)

Well you won't ever pull heavy ass deadlifts or squat the moon, but lighter weights (while breathing normally) shouldn't be a problem, right?
And there's also static exercises (like wall sits) where progressive overload doesn't come from more weight, but longer holding times or different angles.
Then there's all kinds of cardio, which won't make you big, but you can still get impressively fit and healthy.

Yeah cardio can help me lose weight, but to pack muscle it's not that really helpful, unless I trail run like a motherfucker

You could hop on the gear, do some jumping jacks and get better results than someone who busts his ass natty.

Not sure if that's such a good idea with a pre-existing heart condition, though.
