Use crew fiber and style it outwards, then hairspray, then five minutes later style it the way you want and hairspray it again.

You should use the crew fiber as you would use shampoo, in order to get good control on your hair. Also strong hairspray.

So I have wavy hair, my problem when I try to grow my hair out is that it just gets super thick and starts to look bad. Especially as, because my grows in locks, different parts grow at different rates. Not a unique problem my any means - but every time I ask the hair dresser to just thin it out and tidy it up a little, they cut it right down to the top again. This has happened like 5 times at different places.

Is this just a case of shitty hairdresser, my shitty instructions, or is there no real way to reduce thickness while also keeping length.

Folded ponytail gets weird with longer hair. I've taken to a more standard bun of pulling it back like a ponytail, but then twisting the hair into a kind of rope, and wrapping it around itself in a donut shape.

At a certain point yeah you should. If your goal is purely the bun then don't get it trimmed until way later, otherwise you'll get set back. If it's the long hair down that you're after then once it's touching your shoulders get it trimmed correctly.

Not him, but the philips norelco has two heads, one trimmer, one shaver. I trim my sides with the trimmer and shave my junk with the shaver. Best 40 bucks I've spent. Saves so much ball shaving time and no razor bumps.

it's basically the body of a gillette razor someone bought me a while back, I'm fairly certain it's actually meant for beards but the guards are kind of shit-tier so I've only really used it without them for sharp cuts as in the case with my side burns and to some extent a couple of the shitty hairs beneath my neck hairline when my hair was still short enough to warrant it

for an actual trimmer i'm afraid that i have no useful advice since i've never gone with a haircut that has warranted one
