Yeah I'm feeling the same way. Also the length of the pullover basically forces you to tuck your shirt in or have it get pinched weirdly via the elastic waistband. The model with the raincoat has his tucked in, but you could easily keep it untucked. I'm going to wait and see how much it ends up costing before deciding.

Thinking about making an offer on these used Postmans for $75. I think I can get most of the toe creases out with a good polish and shoes trees. Those form pretty quick anyway. They were just worn for a few months. I'm going to get fitted at my local RW store tomorrow and if they're the proper size I'll proceed from there. Advisable? There are some posters buying Stans as an alternate to CPs, but i don' think that's the majority--their only similarity is their colour and simplicity. Stans have a much more bulky silhouette, a more bulbous toe-box, lots a visible stitching, the heel tab, and are a more off-white colour than pure white.

Of course their popularity plays a part, but that's the case for everything. If all of /fa/ was taking the piss of of CPs and calling them overpriced hospital shoes rather than a minority of people doing this there wouldn't be much people buying them, but Stans are nice shoes on their own.

Price totally depends on the cobbler though, if you got big boutique on busy downtown prepare to pay more. If you have friends who are into fashion or some online forum where you can discuss with people on your area about fashion you could ask for recommendations.
Also don't just get some basic commando sole would totally ruin the aesthetic imo, something similar as it is but better material/quality
