I posted this in the DIY general but that seems to be all about dying flecktarn jackets so I'll put it here too:

I'm trying to sew on a patch to a jacket. Is there some basic how to wiki/video out there that tells you how to do it? The few I looked at were blurry as fuck youtube monstrosities featuring girl scouts and Texas mothers.

I don't have a sewing machine so it'll be by hand. Also I was hoping to sew it as a single line of stitches as opposed to a zig-zag pattern, hopefully you get what I'm talking about. Thanks.

In my opinion, comfy shoes are shoes that you can put on easily and are also comfy to wear. I wouldn't consider Converses comfy because you have to tie them every time. I have NB 574s and they are great out and about/beater shoe. Pic related is what I have.

Navy and black is not a traditional color combination at all. It's almost as hard to make look good as black and brown. Black doesn't go well with darker shades of colors. This is like one of the first things you learn about matching colors.

Black and navy is a very serious, formal color combo. Something like navy suit and black shoes for office work -- sure (though brown shoes will still look better). Or if you're an admiral or a police officer.
