A culture of pressure to be excellent and produce excellence breeds competition different from that of America's wherein people just want to stack grands and flash brands, while in Tokyo people want to know what they're wearing beyond the tag. I'd bet AliExpress ships exponentially more to Russia and the US than anywhere on the island of Japan.
