Time once again fuccbois! Keep all Uniqlo posts in one thread
What are you
- NO SHILLING. Uniqlo has some good stuff, but equally bad stuff. Just because you like Uniqlo doesn't mean everyone should buy Uniqlo
-Pics are generally encouraged. There are some actually cool pieces on Uniqlo, but a lot of people don't have one and rely on other anons. So if you get something, feel free to post a pic or your experience.
-Be constructive. Explain why something is shit.
+J drops tomorrow. Who hype?
I'd like to point out that the Uniqlo x Plokhov thing has dropped in the UK. http://www.uniqlo.com/uk/store/feature/uq/urban-sweats/men-women-kids/
Probably not copping, but might be worth a look.
They aren't really THAT good but the supima cottons feel nicer than my shirts from say American Apparel
Does anybody own the slubby cotton sweater? I'm not sure how to size it (or even if the size works for me) I Just got a Japan Blue Sweatshirt from them in small and it was too small and too short, so I might try sizing up to a medium. (I wear a small in their t shirts)
Measurements list this slubby cotton sweater as shorter than the JP sweatshirt though so I'm a bit hesitant. Anybody own it and wanna comment? (5'11 reporting in)
The Pure Blue Japan one?
Nah, it was actually p. good for the price. (I've never owned a lot of sweatshirts from more expensive brands though)
It was actually a pretty thick and heavy sweatshirt. I'd recommend it if the sizing is right for you. For 40 bucks, a lot better than the other sweatshirts from Uniqlo I bet.
Here's my situation. I live in Canada so there's no Uniqlo. I'm going on a trip to the United States of America this weekend. I need everything to start a new wardrobe except shoes and boots.
What are the must buys when starting over? I desperatly need tops of all kind and pants specifically jeans. I intend to buy everything I need in this trip.
What are your suggestions of the best things to cop at Uniqlo? I intend on buying a shitload of stuff so send a lot of suggestions/pics.
I have a question on flannels and oxfords, related because i bought them there,
With the flannel, does it look equally fine tucked in and tucked out, or is leaving it untucked a no no
And with both oxfords and flannels, how many buttons should i leave undone? just the top or first 2?
I got a pair of raw selvedge for $35 the other day. They're fucking awesome. I tried on like 10 pairs though and they all fit differently so it's a miss/hit. The pair I got is dope though, don't even have to tailor them
Can anyone post a fit with their Oxford shirts please friends?
Here was mine in small. (5'11, 130 lbs)
I think they are alright for 30 bucks, but I'm in between sizes on them because I tried an XS in grey a while back and it felt pretty constricting.
It got better after I washed in hot and dryer, but it just wasn't for me.
If you have a little more meat on your body, they are probably good for the price.
I prefer my J.Crew slim oxfords over these though. Hope this helps!
Also, here is the deal with flannels and oxfords.
Oxfords - tucked in? Fine, but it isn't very casual. I think chinos, tucked in oxford and a pair of sneaks is p. chill but I don't think it is something you'd wanna wear really often.Tucking is just more for bizcaz.
don't tuck in jeans.
Flannels are a little different. If you are a fit type of guy, and have a work wear aesthetic, then fuck yeah it'll look great. If you are unsure if you can pull it off, you probably can't.
Yeah I know. This is an old picture, and it just came that way to me and it didn't really matter. (Just asking if I should size down and what not)
Hey I don't think they are anything special for 30 bucks they feel like shit and wrinkle easily.
I only advise to grab them if you NEED one and don't wanna save the money up for something a little thicker.
AUSbro here, bought some stuff from the new Uniqlo online store.
Pretty pleased, for $15 AUD each the Supima %100 cotton tees are pretty much the best value for money, much better and cheaper than most shit at Cotton On, Factorie, General Pants, Zara, etc.
Nice cuts, I really like how they fit, grabbed a bunch of them to replace my old plain colour tees. The waffles and henleys are pretty nice too.
Quick shipping, easy returns (tried a few sizes and stuff) and free shipping over a certain amount, I think over $50 or $100?
Would recommend by a mile over every other mall-tier chain in Aus, especially at the price.
This. Their sizing is p. inconsistent from piece to piece. I wear a small in tees, almost an xs in their oxfords, but I'm sending my PBJ sweatshirt back because it is tight as shit in small. Trying a medium in it + the slub sweater. Will report back later in a week when it gets here.
Can anyone give me their opinion on what size to take for the down coat/vest?
I am not sure whether i should take a xs or s in the coat and s or medium in the vest. For reference my measurements are 36" chest, 5'5"ish height, around 130-135lbs weight and for most tops in uniqlo I take medium(t-shirt, sweatshirt, shirts) because I don't like tight fighting clothes. but with the coat I know the sleeves would be way too long with a medium.
>New Boxer Briefs arrived yesterday
>Comfiest boxer briefs I have ever won
I'LL NEVER DOUBT YOU AGAIN, /FA/
if im a good size s in uniqlo's supima tees, should i cop a size s bomber? also, how's the fit and is it worth the 60 bucks?
A zip-up hoodie I ordered off Uniqlo just showed up today, and I noticed the zipper was on the left, which is typical mostly for women's clothing.
My question is are all the zippers on their clothing like this, or did they send me a woman's hoodie? There isn't much other evidence towards whether it is or not, but a zipper on the left just bugs me a bit.
should be here tomorrow
this is my first purchase from uniqlo, did i do good?
>shorts only because it bumped me up to 50$ and made the shipping free, saved a few bucks and it's like 90-100 degrees in CA right now
I posted it before, but these fuckers didn't ship my Black Cargo sweats. Called them up and they said it was out of stock and all i get is a $15 coupon. Get email with the coupon and its only $10.
I also have another order with plokhov stuff in it that I suspect wont ship either.
holy god you are so hungry right now arent you mr skelington
i literally have 40 lbs on you and i also wear smalls. meaning our frames are similar (im 6'0) meaning you are literally not getting enough food to support your frame because i barely do
Oh, okay well at least that's something.
Yeah, that's pretty ridiculous. BUT the silver lining of the whole thing is at least you got more than the people who couldn't even order it got, yeah?
Go on a sock shopping spree, or just hold onto it for +J
Cop the black wool pants and the dress shirts, and the chesterfield or toggle jacket if you need outerwear
Notes on the fit of the chester - I was glad I copped a large since I'm 6'1" and between medium and large in most Uniqlo shit: http://dappered.com/2014/10/sneak-peak-uniqlo-j-flannel-chester-single-coat/
When I first came to /fa/ I used to think Uniqlo was the shit because it was way better than what I was used to, but I'm starting to get disillusioned with it. Almost anything at Uniqlo can be found for 2x the quality at J Crew or Gap. I'll rate everything I've bought from there
Sort of thin and not very soft, as a result they wrinkle easily and cant absorb any sweat without looking like shit. I've since replaced them with Gap oxfords which are way nicer.
> Patterned Chambray Shirts
Again very thin, but I think it's actually for the better. I wear one of my Uniqlo chambrays two or three times a week when it's hot out because it's very light but doesnt wrinkle. However the second shirt has a weird problem where the edge of the placket folds over itself, and as a result I never really wear it. I have another chambray shirt from J Crew thats a lot thicker, and very nice for about the same price
These were a big disappointment for me. Like their other shirts, they're very thin, which is annoying because you want flannels to be thick and cozy. Also fit weirdly compared to my other Uniqlo shirts
Another disappointment. They're baggy in the midriff and ride up on your waist. Makes you look really dumpy and out of shape.
Pretty good, and for the price there's no reason not to cop
> Linen Blazer
Seems like nice quality, very lightweight and good for Summer. Unfortunately it fits slimmer than their shirts, and I had to size up and get it tailored. The stupid fucking immigrant tailor basically mutilated it and now I never wear it. If there were any good fucking tailors in my city it would probably be a great jacket.
Overall pretty mediocre, but a good place to get basics if you don't have much money.
Any idea how to get the linen shirts to be as soft as they were off the shelf? I find if I just cold wash with detergent+ hang dry them, they get really stiff and hard (huehue). Do I have to tumble dry them? Use fabric softener?
Here are my experiences/overall guesses
good. Great even. I have a soft touch coming, and if it is anything like the supima, then it will be goat. If they were SLIGHTLY longer, I'd never buy another t shirt anywhere else. But I'm overall p, happy with mine
I hated mine. It is think, wrinkles easily, and feels cheap. I wear J.Crew now. They do wrinkle as well. (The bottom rolls itself up) I have to iron them, but they fit so well and whenever I wear one people comment on how much they like the fabric so one point for j.crew
Are there better flannels? Yeah. But I don't feel ripped off for the price. They fit p. well, and they are PERFECT autumn weather shirts. A case of "I paid 30 dollars and got a decent value."
I've only tried PBJ. The material is great. Nice and heavy, but the small was too small on me (weird as shit) I am sending it back and trying a medium. My fear is the torso is too boxy like it was on the small but might just be ribbing
fits weird as shit. Cop H&M's wool blazer prob.
Have a slubby cotton on the way. I hear most of their sweaters are thin, but cop the cotton ones because they are good layering pieces for the price. Don't spend anymore than 30ish tho
meh. They weren't all that special and not that slim. J.Crew 484 is better for me + I don't have to hem them
Never tried them, but some people swear by them and think they are p. good (Cont)
for the price. I would say it wouldn't hurt to cop selvedge but don't bother with the rest
Jury is still out on the wool dress pants. In general, if I'm following the trend of a lot of other dressier clothing from Uniqlo, J.Crew probably has ones that are a little better put together. But maybe this +J collection will prove me wrong. I dunno. I just don't find it worth it to tailor UNIQLO quality clothing if you feel me.
And that's really all I can formulate an opinion on from my collective time here on /fa/.
>going to airport to pick someone up
>decide to stop off at Uniqlo store that's 40min from the usual one I visit
>See red and mint green Airism shirts on clearance for $4/ea
the fuck? I had no idea these colors for airism even existed. copped a few mint green since the reds were all XL.
Same exact shirt except lg
cop or nah?
i need a sweater for layering this season
Sweat shirt right?
Pay a little more for the Japan Blue ones. I would assume the cuts are the same, so if it fits you then let me tell you it is worth the same price. I just sent my small back because it fits p. tight but it is nice and heavy. It isn't like a hoodie or something, but it is a nice thick and heavy cloth. I've never seen anything like it.
>tfw budding uniqlo problem
Will cop cropped cargos on my next visit
Having the zipper on the right for mens stuff is an american thing I think. Here in europe all zips are on the left hand side, I guess it makes it easier when purchasing zips.
I think canana uses zips on the left as well.
Also interested in this. I think that navy parka looks beautiful but 230? If I've learned one thing about Uniqlo outerwear from browsing effay, it is that it is shit. (ULD sheds apparently)
Because "dadcore" stopped being some horrible insult a long time ago when everyone realized how stupid they were as they dressed in thin drapey girl clothes. :^
have you actually tried to shop at a target lately?
i know that japanese people consider uniqlo to be super-basic, but their clothing market is well-known to comprise higher-quality items than US counterparts.
if Target sold decent clothes, I'd be glad to wear them. But they don't. Uniqlo is closer to a Japanese American Apparel or Gap. Except better price-value than either.
you should absolutely get jeans and tees at uniqlo. one of the best quality/price ratios around for sure.
oxford/casual button downs are generally pretty good too. hoodies and sweaters are often good but not as guarenteed. i think their outerwear is kind of wack but some folks rock it well...
other stuff is not quite as fail-safe. don't get too trigger-happy or you'll end up with stuff you don't need.
Has Uniqlo completely converted to using more American sizing yet?
I'm usually an XS but last time I bought from them I got a plain tee and a linen-blend tee both in size S. The linen-blend tee fit me really well but the cotton one was way looser fitting.
Was thinking of ordering a l/s tee and maybe one of the lambswool sweaters or something and I have no idea whether I should get an XS or S...
much nicer than levis. im 5'11 150 lbs and theyre probably the best fitting pants ive ever had. sizing is normal. they'll be a little more relaxed before you wash them (unsanfordized) then shrink down to a nice slim fit (not too skinny). mine stretched right back to their original fit tho after 1 day of wear 8). only complaint is that the leg opening is slightly too big but the denim is nice and rigid so you can pinroll nicely
I bought my first 3 Uniqlo items, and here is my report.
Background: I am a 174cm manlet babby who wears XS.
• Dry Packed Tee (The purple one that's on sale for $1.90)
• Suprima Cotton Tee
• 'Soft Touch' Longsleeve Tee
The Suprima Cotton Tee is LITERALLY perfect. I have trouble finding T-shirts that fit me well because I have short torso. I'm a big fan of this shirt.
The Dry Packed Tee fits like a box. I wasn't expecting a miracle, it was a throw-in with my order.
The 'Soft Touch' Longsleeve is a big disappointment for me. It just doesn't have a good fit at all and looks terrible on me. It's very drape-like and despite being the same length as the Suprima Cotton Tee, it looks remarkably longer when worn because the cut doesn't fit my body well. It is definitely soft but the material does have a bit of a 'cheap' vibe to it.
I'm curious to try the Suprima Cotton longsleeve since I like the Tee so much. If anyone has had both the Suprima long and t-shirt, are they comparable fits? If anyone has tried the Suprima and Soft Touch longsleeve, are there significant differences in the fit for you?
Anybody tried these yet?
I'll be wearing low-top sneakers with them but I want them to show and not fall over them.
Also are these sort of pants warm in f/w?
Can anyone vouch for the quality of their wind-proof hoodie?
What the fuck you say to me, m8?
>depressed because I only copped 3 supimas at local uniqlo and should've got more before they sold out.
>go to uniqlo to return stupid crew swater
>supimas everywhere, on sale
I've never had a better fitting shirt for my body type. They hold up in the wash beautifully.
I don't remember, I'm pretty sure I did a search for "zip up hoodie" or something and that was one of the results.
It has to be on the US site though as that's the one that I'm using.
If you look at that pic and you don't think the shoes are by far the worst part of the fit, you're probably beyond hope.
/fa/: where children consider "i saw a negro do it" as a valid reason to do the dumbest shit imaginable.
Alright, ordered some more things. Wasn't planning on it, but I had some spare funds since I'm gonna try something else with my 510s rather than buying a new pair. Bought a waffle tee + 3 of the cable knit socks. Will report back on the quality probably by the end of the week if I'm lucky.
Dear god I buy a lot of basics and shit from Uniqlo. But thankfully fall is JUST hitting in Colorado, so I can cop some new outerwear probably in November.
Wasn't gonna grab the waffle shirt actually, but I figure I have something coming on Wednesday I'll probably end up returning, so it really isn't any money off my back if I don't.
I have a grey slubby sweater like pic indicates, I'm 5'10 and an xs fits pretyy well, albeit a little short in the torso, defs go with a small or medium because one, I have a short torso so it may be even shorter, and two, I'm rather thin at 130 lbs, so I don't fill it out like crazy. I'd say get a small.
I'm actually 5'11 and about as thin as you and went with a medium because of the sweatshirt heh, I suppose if it doesn't fit me well enough sizing down won't be a big deal. It comes on Wednesday so I guess I'll find out then.
guys, how slim are the slim straights? And will the raw slims shrink up? Should I size up on them?
I have regular fits right now, and I like the thigh a lot, but not the leg opening
i bought one of the red checkered flannels a week ago, just got it a few days ago. it's fantastic, not super warm but the material is soft as fuck and it fits perfect. the forearms are very slightly slim, but it's really nbd at all.
possibly copping another soon, i love this one
I wear S in Supima and got a M bomber. I didn't even realize until it came that it has a faux sherpa lining. That combined with the fact that its cut pretty slim made me size up and I'm happy with the fit, but like most bombers, it looks really bad closed
>I've been waiting about six weeks now for the UK site to restock this stupid shirt
Wow, you have proven your superiority my good sir.
copped, haring is boss
size up tho the crimp on the bottom is shit if its too small
I like the Supima's personally. The fabric still feels excellent after a couple washes, at least since I had them.
Might try dry packaged eventually but t-shirt weather is coming to a close and time for long sleeves so I don't really care.
Cop or not? It can add some much needed color to my wardrobe. I'm black if that makes a difference.
What the shit does that even mean?
I say the quality is prob shit because all of the stuff with Uniqlo down in it seems to be shit, so I don't really wanna drop the money on something like that
>tfw order was delayed to Thursday
From what I understand, they are like 511s, but since the tapered are in between 510s and 511s, they might be a bit bigger. I Don't think they are a BAD cop if that's the size you are, since it is p. cheap selvedge.
But if nobody responds, take a risk and then share your results because I'd like to know as well.
511 is classic and 510 is skinny, right? So tapered is supposed to be skinnier than the slim straight?
All I know is I have some 513's that fit like straight up skinny jeans. Idk, I guess from shrinkage cause I have chicken legs.
511s are like slim straights.
Not familiar with 513s
I dunno bruh it won't hurt, just cop a pair + some socks for dat free shipping and see if you like em honestly. 7.50 return deduction, so if they don't work out it really isn't a lot off your back.
Some people say the quality is better than Levi's
Should I buy or no? Anyone have any experience with how their 3/4 sleeve fits?
