No general inspo thread ? New general inspo thread.
If we only look at this one outfit, it'd be hard to pick out the trendhopping without nitpicking. However, you should take a look at this outfit, and then all of his other outfits, and you'll see that he just does whatever is most popular on /fa/, usually. In this outfit he's trying to layer like he saw in all those jap streetwear inspo threads, and then in his next fit he'll try to do techwear.
Also, look at that fucking post he made in that shoe collection thread. He posts a bunch of shoes, all of them exclusively things /fa/ talks about, and is like "yeah I'm gonna buy some qasas and rafdidas soon..." Fucking disgusting. Those two shoes have nothing to do with each other, they're completely different shoes made for completely different aesthetics.
And I understand when people have a hard time nailing down what most inspires them or resonates with them, but Birthday is fucking ridiculous. One thing that really sums up his personality well is a post he made in the sufu "post what you're listening to" thread. He posts a standard /mu/-meme animal collective song (Alvin Row, the most /mu/ hyped track on their most /mu/ hyped album) and says "this is the song I'd listen to if I was murdering someone" or something really cringey like that. I used to talk like that when I was in middle school whenever I was trying to impress people with my stupid self-identity crisis. Oh won't you please look at me and my cool, underground, and wEiRd music tastes!
And that fit just sucks entirely on its own, it's painfully obvious that his attempt at layering is not an organic thing and that he's forcing it so fucking hard. He's wearing a too-big shirt under a smaller shirt under a button up. Simply amazing layering. It's obvious that his base layer tee is just a walmart tee that he sized up on to get "that drape," because when he layers it, it flairs out like a skirt. His pinrolling sucks, his shoes suck, everything sucks.
Fuck you, Birthday, you stupid faggot.
Holy fuck thanks for that. I needed a good laugh today, you have proved yourself to be not only a know nothing goon but also a fucking stalker. Rethink your life dude.
Unless I'm wrong i only got kicked out because snails doesn't like me. I was just sitting there reading the chat and then snails gets on for the first time that day sees my name and kicks me off. Would you like me to explain all the other things I got #rekt over and how they are almost all lies.
Lol fuck, I just imagine you sitting at your computer and reading my post, thinking "ah fuck shit I gotta respond to this in such a way that makes me look cool and calm or I won't be effay anymore ah shit I shoulda sized down on my qasas maybe this wouldnt be happening then"
Shut the fuck up, retard. You dress like shit, you're not funny, you're just unpleasant in every way. It doesn't matter how much you spent on your hype clothes, you'll always be the annoying reject nobody wants to sit with at lunch.
i don't know about you guys but i don't find people bitching each other out on /fa/ very inspiring to my aesthetic
who is this poster? did he ever trip? post more of his fits if you have them
Damn your probably right. I definitely didn't wake up from a nice little nap to see that some autist had belted out 4 fucking paragraphs onto why I'm such a piece of shit and start laughing uncontrollablly. I'll take this time now to talk about your earlier points on me.
>Rafdidas and Qasas fit into two completely different aesthetics
Not at all. I find them both to fit into a techy aesthetic, but of course they can both be worn in many different looks. Weren't you the one who said he hated putting designers into pigeon hole styles becuase your doing exactly that right now.
>changes style with every fit
Yeah I used to do that a lot, I still even do it today but not as much. Why would I limit myself to one style or aesthetic. My dream wardrobe would be full of highend Techwear but that doesn't mean that's all I'm going to have. I would get bored wearing the same three shells and shoes every day. You also called me a trend hopper if you said that 4 months ago yeah your probably right but again I don't see anything inherently wrong with that.
>the song on Sufu
It wasn't "what are you listening to right now" it was " post a song you would commit a crime to". So I posted Alvin Row that whole album just makes me feel out of control and crazy so I thought it would be perfect for such a chaotic thing as murder. Yeah I guess it's h typed on /mu/ but I had liked it(and you'll have to take my word for this) long before it started getting really hyped on /mu/.
>the OP fit
Yeah it's messy and frumpy but that's something o kind of go for I don't want everything to be perfect and clean looking when Im using pieces like this. The tees fit together very well I though and didn't stick out at all.
really into the bell sleeve openings here
Dude some guy just spent his time pissing on you for 4 paragraphs, ignore him and keep contributing to positive board culture with constructive content and nobody will care about nolifers such as this one.
It aint that hard
i should probably start giving sources
my first post: kenji hikino, s/s 2014
second post: mm6, resort 2015
this post: the row, s/s 2015
building block s/s 2014 lookbook
i feel bad because there are probably more dudes here but i only have womenswear inspo
got this off tumblr, no clue where it's from, sorry
baixchen on instagram, bai on sufu, never posted here to the best of my knowledge
on insta he mostly just posts general photography now
someone might post the terrible edgy post he made on sufu
thx :* i'll keep on posting then
i see this look as a more "normal" everyday implementation of the ideas i posted above: volume, focusing on how fabric folds & falls off a body
it's from vanessa jackman's blog, not sure season
yeah, i really love it
this is from that collection, kind of reminds me of a vietnamese ao dai
>Weren't you the one who said he hated putting designers into pigeon hole styles becuase your doing exactly that right now.
I have no idea what you're referencing here.
>I find them both to fit into a techy aesthetic
If you look at a pair of ozweegos and think "yeah they're basically asics" then sure, but that's not what they are. Not even considering the designer's intention with the shoes, it's still just really wrong to imagine them in the context of techwear. The "intentionally ugly" aesthetic wouldn't be there, it'd just be an ugly sneaker.
>sticking to one style, etc
I personally don't like it when people pick a style from the tuxbell sticky and think "yep, that's what I'm gonna do," or really just sticking to labels like that in general. But there's a difference between having a style and going between different style presets outlined on tuxbell or whatever. That's what you do. And oh, you're not a trendhopper anymore? That was the 4 months ago Birthday, not the present Birthday? That's funny, because in the last 3, 4, 5 months or so, /fa/ has really been hopping on the dick of japanese streetwear, or what they're calling "comfy-core." Now, 4 months later, you've suddenly developed your own cohesive style and aesthetic, which just so happens to be jumping all over the most popular style presets on /fa/ right now.
>I had liked it long before it started getting really hyped on /mu/.
Ok, if we assume you started liking it literally one day before /mu/ started hyping it, not even "long before" as you say, that'd still be a ridiculous claim. I remember being a freshman in high school hyping that album on /mu/, and that was 4 years ago. You weren't into animal collective in middle school, and you certainly weren't into it "long before" then either.
Yes, I know what you were going for, but your execution only demonstrates that the only inspiration you have is to just try your hardest to look like the gooks in the inspo pics you've saved.
Basically, to sum all that shit up, you come on /fa/ and sufu posting your really uninspired bullshit, coming off only as some approval seeking teenager.
And don't get hard for yourself now, no one really cares about you that much, me typing this up is no indication of your importance in any context. You're just really fucking annoying. And I'd be fine if you were just some dumb kid that can't figure out how to dress cool (or at least appreciate the clothing he owns), but you're really really really fucking annoying about it.
styling by the boutique one of a few for a samuji skirt, with a creatures of comfort sweater and bag, arielle de pinto sandals, the row sunglasses
You should be checking out what Kaarem is doing with Vietnamese inspirations.
one of a few again styling an edith a. miller top with hope pants. i love subversive suiting-inspired styling
i'm on it. i love kaarem. i need a job for $
thx! haven't heard of either
i haven't seen any of public school's womenswear besides their j. crew collab but i loved it deep inside my #basicbitch heart
I prefer PS's menswear tbh, but... I am a man. Jacquemus is perhaps worth a look too. I don't really have any womenswear to contribute either, oops.
this is the picture that made me fall in love with turtlenecks (philo shot by david sims for vogue paris)
i briefly lost my identity
kowtow f/w 2014
m. patmos resort 2014
i've never seen their stuff in person (typical internet fashion kid). sad to hear that. is it the quality? or are they pretty mediocre without good styling? do they hang weirdly?
phillip lim, not sure when or where
sometimes i feel guilty for ignoring most of the color spectrum when getting dressed
Qualities fine, but EVERYTHING is either cotton shirting or jersey. A touch of terrycloth now and then, but it's all just very flat, uninteresting textures in person. Styles great, but that's about it. It seems to me that brands like Black Crane and Hope and Assembly NY and whatnot do it better.
what the fuck is wrong with you dude. you started a thread a few days ago with a picture of yourself asking "w2c these boots" and then not two minutes later you responded with your trip on id'ing the boots and asking "w2c annd or helmut boots for cheap". you seriously couldnt have just asked /fa/ where to cop those boots? and then you start an inspo thread with your own picture and respond right after someone calls you out on it. you are seriously fucked up in the head and i sugggest you get help. hell it wouldnt surprise me if you created a bunch of fake sufu profiles just to give yourself positive rep. oh and dont bother samefagging anymore cause everyone knows that anything positive said about you is you, especially the "gay guy with a crush on you" who mysteriously shows up in every thread calling you cute. get fucked you annoying psychotic child
You are really weird and scary man wtf is wrong with you?
At some point you forgot that this kid (let me emphasise kid, he can't be older than 18) Birthday is still a person with emotions and you're sitting there being a fucking arsehole for no good reason other than you don't like what he posts on a cambodian cartoon website
Because he's fucking annoying, I've already explained this. This takes no effort on my part to complain about a kid on the internet.
Of course it's obvious that you're just Birthday samefagging, as you constantly do. Even if it isn't, Birthday's credibility on the matter of samefagging is completely compromised now by now.
contributing to thread with birthgay-tier inspo
i dont give a fuck about all y'alls quarrel with birthday and whatever other faggots. just post some fucking general inspo that aint shit, stop making a big deal out of a user on an intersteller columbian oil painting magazine company
>interstellar columbian oil painting magazine company
Did you make this post just to put this joke out?
If so I do the exact same thing.
Meanwhile, in the parallel universe where this is still an inspo thread...
that was a part of it. the other part was everyone getting a hardon for a tripfag that no one should care about
Here, I'll post some shit I have saved (that I don't recall seeing posted on /fa/ in every inspo thread) to hopefully make up for spending so much time making fun of birthday ;)
I thought ssense's marketing garbage on the left was really dumb, but I really like how the ozweegos are styled here
He always looks like he just wanted to drop what ever they were doing and walk off to the sunset and never talk to them again.
he seems like the kind of guy who on his death bed would tell the others to fuck off so he can die alone in silence.
Also the most, and one of the only 2 talented members.
I still have yet to sister m shake off all of the goodness that Bailey is putting out from Burberry. Pic is from his fall showing in Jan. My sights are set on chunky footwear and roomier bottoms.
itd actually take some time for me to get some money together, since I have just purchased some things lol
I know your sufu account, ill msg you when I got my shit together, thanks bby
hey birthday those ips are blowing up like hot air balloons
hey birthday are those lips indicative of your baboon heritage
hey birthday is the "butch dyke esque medium length hair poof trendy closeted tumblr kid"
hey birthday i cant tell the difference between the lower half of your face and my dogs ass
You're getting desperate, Birthday. If you leave the conversation now, you won't reach your full potential of retardation.
Also, no, those weren't things that I have some direct and meaningful connection to. Notice that I posted 3 Japanese streetwear inspired outfits, while one of them was all Raf. I just posted things I thought people around here would like, as /fa/ has been going more toward Japanese streetwear lately. I do like ssense's raf styling, though.
Of course, even if I did find those really inspiring, they'd still be infinitely better than anything you could ever hope to pull off.
You're a pathetic little white nerd and underage b& that really needs to learn some humility. You've lost, you fucking loser.
My inspo folder is pretty much just pictures of Buddhist monks now.
Or I just read through an old thread, liked the picture and replied with one.
this level of reaching sure is inspiring
that scarf & pant pleat <3
Birthday, how much of your income do you spend on clothes? Blowing all your money just to impress people on the internet isn't really something to be proud of. Do you ever plan to save any of your income from the movie theater?
I was just trying to help. I thought this was a bully free zone.
this trend of kids thrifting late 80's to 90's clothes to wear and hang out at cool spots after school all over town used to annoy me.
I saw this moron post this, he said something like 'don't worry about my hairline, I'm working on getting it fixed' like you just go to the hairline repair shop and pay a few bucks. deluded fool
