Kapital and Visvim are phenomenal, I visited both in Tokyo a few months ago and really have a greater appreciation for heritage / workwear type stuff now. The indigo stood out among both brands' work.

I also saw this indigo camping trailer pop up on the top floor of GYRE omotesando, beautiful stuff. Those shoes in slide 11 (pic related) were some of the most beautiful footwear I've ever seen and weren't that expensive either, around 550?

Also visited this store in Daikanyama called Okura, specializing in Indigo dyed textiles / clothing / housewares.

There was a white dude working there to my surprise, didn't seem like he spoke alot of Japanese. Such a chill environment and they even had a pet cricket in the store, felt like I'd traveled back in time a few decades

This one is GOAT for me, reminds me alot of my childhood, dad used to work in IT and I lived near many 80s-90s style office buildings. Dad also took lots of business trips to the states and brought back lots of things, I was exposed to alot of 90s / early 2000s western film / culture, so the atmosphere captured in this photo resonates with me alot.

For real dawg, I want to cop relaxed cut, natural fabrics, natural-indigo/mud-dyed clothes that are distinctly japanese. I feel like I'd get well-constructed clothes with a lot of thought and care put into them that age interestingly. I'd also enjoy the relaxed earthy vibe I'd give off and the attaining inner-peace and being in tune with my environment vibe I'd probably feel if I wore this jawnz. I'd also have the pleasure of not looking like a try-hard.

Anyone know where to cop a cheap sample of this kinda stuff to test and see what it's all about? Maybe like a hat or something?

Cmon man, that's just a cop out. If you like something alot then why not go for it? Save up a bit. I see way too many people who take this stance towards things they like, and it really looks like nothing but a cop out to me. People trying to justify things they know aren't good enough for them, and that they deserve better.

I worked with Maria Blaisse on one of her exhibitions. She's pretty chill and has a kinetic approach to her work which I like; she also did paula abdul's costumes for some tour as well as collaborated with Issey Miyake and camper.
