Bump for a potentially great thread.
I'm almost as in love with this Totokaelo editorial, "Kinetic" (ofc), as I am with the clothes in it.

well op matters in the regard that the thread was started with the aim of compiling more of a specific look or style of inspo
and I wasn't looking for a fight with my posts that guy just got mad for no good reason, sry if it sours the thread for ya.
>>8850313
think the actual style in the pics posted itt are a tad subjective with regards to everyone's individual appreciation for them, I didn't post them hoping you would randomly find them in this thread from out there in the world and change your life forever.
I just don't get the anger man.
I was only attempting to post pics that ppl looking for wat op asked for might be interested in seeing i.e movement, texture, emotion

Nah, it doesn't sour anything, and that guy's definitely to blame.
I interpreted OP as looking for just "unconventional inspo," inspo that actually makes you feel something and inspires you, versus specifically movement.
Which can, like texture or emotion in a shot, versus sterile and puerile fitpics.
General everything protip: learn how to use photo archives. My favorite is the one from Magnum Photos, which is a collective of most of the world's best photojournalists.
https://www.magnumphotos.com/C.aspx?VP3=SearchResult&ALID=29YL530HCLTV
Little PR overview of their fashion work.
Pic related is from Alex Majoli, backstage at Yohji S/S '13.
>>8850520
>>8850536
The thing about Magnum's archive, besides that they're a select group of extremely talented people, is that they're all photojournalists or documentary photographers, which means you get this:
>There can be no better way to spend one's three-score-years-and-10 than as a photojournalist. The little box worn around the neck is the ultimate passport that affords every possible experience, from the "morning with paupers, evening with princes" scenario to a month in an Aids ward. If you want to be able to check out the world for yourself, get a camera.
As told by their now-deceased member Phillip Jones Griffiths.
The perspective that comes with that kind of thing helps. Majoli made his name reporting from Kosovo and still actively does conflict photography.
Pic is from Kosovo, a KLA soldier and text journalist Janine di Giovanni, presumably working on this:

Kapital and Visvim are phenomenal, I visited both in Tokyo a few months ago and really have a greater appreciation for heritage / workwear type stuff now. The indigo stood out among both brands' work.
I also saw this indigo camping trailer pop up on the top floor of GYRE omotesando, beautiful stuff. Those shoes in slide 11 (pic related) were some of the most beautiful footwear I've ever seen and weren't that expensive either, around 550?

Also visited this store in Daikanyama called Okura, specializing in Indigo dyed textiles / clothing / housewares.
There was a white dude working there to my surprise, didn't seem like he spoke alot of Japanese. Such a chill environment and they even had a pet cricket in the store, felt like I'd traveled back in time a few decades

also i feel like converse or vans collaborated with one of the US denim/workwear/indigo brands sometime in the last couple of years and made indigo dyed plimsolls pretty similar to those

This one is GOAT for me, reminds me alot of my childhood, dad used to work in IT and I lived near many 80s-90s style office buildings. Dad also took lots of business trips to the states and brought back lots of things, I was exposed to alot of 90s / early 2000s western film / culture, so the atmosphere captured in this photo resonates with me alot.
>>8850858
FUUUUUUCK
For real dawg, I want to cop relaxed cut, natural fabrics, natural-indigo/mud-dyed clothes that are distinctly japanese. I feel like I'd get well-constructed clothes with a lot of thought and care put into them that age interestingly. I'd also enjoy the relaxed earthy vibe I'd give off and the attaining inner-peace and being in tune with my environment vibe I'd probably feel if I wore this jawnz. I'd also have the pleasure of not looking like a try-hard.
Too bad these fuckers charge an arm and leg and this shit won't fit me fat western frame
Anyone know where to cop a cheap sample of this kinda stuff to test and see what it's all about? Maybe like a hat or something?
>>8850904
>>8850775
>test and see what it's all about?
Cmon man, that's just a cop out. If you like something alot then why not go for it? Save up a bit. I see way too many people who take this stance towards things they like, and it really looks like nothing but a cop out to me. People trying to justify things they know aren't good enough for them, and that they deserve better.
