LET THE PALEWAVE WASH OVER YOU
FEEL THE PALE WASH AWAY THE DARKNESS
ENJOY THE FEELING OF PEACE AS ANXIETY, NEGATIVITY, AND ANGER LEAVE YOU

>that hue of red + red shoes
>dope jumper , perf colours , design etc
>jeans that aren't 100% pale blue like ervell
>no pale shirt to add layering points plus complete the palette
sort it out OP m8
It's weird, a few weeks before people started talking about "palewave" I started getting these weird urges to replace everything in my wardrobe with white/light-blue/tan colors. Maybe im tuned into to some sort of fashion brain radio.
Daily reminder that "palewave" is just a washed out color scheme and if you're going to make a special name for it you might as well make one for earth tones and monochrome.
niggas dont know how to set timers to put clicker in pocket
>I started getting these weird urges to replace everything in my wardrobe with white/light-blue/tan colors
or maybe because its summer and you can't wear black every day...fuck pale wave, its not nxtlvl, its just a color palette
>get tired of being so serious
>decide to be a bit more positive
>decide to stop being angry at shitfit pleb scum
>hmm I need some color in my wardrobe, color is good
>see this thread
It's like I've tuned in to the /fa/ radio and now I joined the hivemind and there's no getting off. I think I'm being myself but I am just following their agenda like some fucked up robot who thinks he has free will. I used to play a game where i'd see a fit in the WAYWT and decide if it was good or shit and after I decided, I would look at the replies and see what was the general /fa/ consensus on the fit
>I got it most of them wrong
>"this fit is shit they gon hate it"
>"this fits okay! I think they'll like it"
>browse a whole lot more
>see rad as fuck fit
>see awful fit
>/fa/-"DISGRACEFUR COMMIT SUDOKU"
Where did my parents go wrong
i get that feeling too, but i usually take it as me being pretty on-the-ball fashion wise. It's sort of that we all see plebs getting into hype beast and it gets ruined for us, so we look for something new, we see old pictures of dudes looking chill and try and copy that, then it comes into style. it's mainly because most of the inspo you get is from the interenet, where people are sharing images of stuff they like. its not very often that you dig and find somethign really special.
>get bucket hat for summer glacier snowboarding
fuccbois steal buckethats
>get straight faded jeans for 5$ to skate in
norm core comes in a month later
>see reservoire dogs, get wayfarers
year later EVERYBODY has wayfarers
Fuck u bitch nigga we feeling right now no need for negativity
turn this into a white sneaker thread already thats what its all about
find me cheap sneakrs tldr
dressing like you dont care because you care
slim jeans that are close to skinny but not
proper light blue stonewash jeans
playing around with pale and washed out colours
white > black
looser fits in general
2 diff things u twats
obviously is a trend if loads of designers atm have used it in their s/s15 collections dickhead
This isn't a new thing you stupid twat, stop pretending like this is some new subculture you're apart of.
Do you think there are real designers out there using this fucking phrase "palewave?" Jesus christ.
o ur telling me pale palettes weren't invented in 2015??????????????????????????//
damn bro do u have a PHD in fashion?
look u fucking spastic
this shit is trending right now
designers obvs arent calling it palewave but they're using slimmer fits and pale/washed out/pastels in their new collections
/fa/ is actually on point trend wise atm which is surprising
its obvs nothing new
but its in season atm
how is this hard to understand?
have u even seen 1 s/s15 show
It's not fucking trending? Jesus christ this has to be a troll post or something, like there's no god damn way someone can be this fucking clueless
/fa/ - Fashion
Forgot where I was for a second hehe! Well woops, hehe, better get out of here because I accidentally read more stupid bullshit!
In case you're actually being serious: nearly every fucking designer every fucking year does pastel colors in their spring collections
It's not fucking palewave, it's not a god damn trend, it's just being seasonally appropriate with your fucking colors and fabrics
Don't fucking give it a new name like it's some new shit
Nigga even Rick is using pastels this season
u cant ignore the fact its trending atm
and i dont know y ur so vehemently opposed to it in the first place
palewave is just a nick name for it on /fa/ , nothing 2 cry about
black and white monochrome as been around for ages but it was trending hard a while ago
it wasnt anything new but it was used a lot more by designers
-AS A FOCAL POINT- (this being the main thing here)
and thats the same things thats happening with palewave
this is so easy to understand
nothing is new in the fashion world , stuff just gets recycled
stop acting like we just found out about bread and milk u spastic
Rick has been doing pastels every fucking season, even his god damn f/w season you stupid shit, have you ever actually seen one of his god damn collections or do you just view one image on tumblr for fucks sake?
I'm not acting like you "just found out about bread and milk" you stupid shitwit, you fucks are actually trying to rename shit like its some special little subculture you have in /fa/ like wow wahow we're so ahead of the curve over here
And it doesn't matter what your shitwit response to this will be because that doesn't change the fact that every god damn palewave thread is filled with people defending it by saying "oh yeah if you ain't on this pale shit than you're probably just some monochrome faggot lol!!!"
And jesus fuck you don't know shit about fashion, seriously not a god damn thing, it's like you just discovered the most popular tumblr-favorite designers (Raf, Rick, et al) a fucking month ago
>y-your just from tumblr
>y-your just trying to create a new subculture and dick ride it
palewave = nickname for the current trend
its not a subculture
i can understand y u think it is because u obvs only lurk /fa/ and think the mindless bandwagoning on here represents every fashion community in the world
and if u dont then i have no idea y u think palewave is a subculture
yea ppl r gonna defend it and scream
palewave > monochrome
for a good year
the colour scheme is trending
yes it is used fairly often
honestly do u even know what a trend is?
Guys, where can I get White T Shirts with the following characteristics:
>relatively thick, not sheer or see through
>slightly scoopy neck but not super low
>maybe a bit longer than regular
>~50$ price range
Yeah ok like it's pretty obvious you don't have a solid argument anymore and you're just being a timid little faggot now
>y-you only browse /fa/!
Haha yeah ok, I'm actually from sufu, that's where I started and I come on /fa/ to help people with find clothes sometimes but I'm mostly here for the humor but god damn this summer has been really bad for /fa/, probably the worst I've ever seen this place cause of posters like you
>i-it's a trend!!
Yeah ok faggot, using light fabrics and light colors in the spring and heavy fabrics and dark colors in the winter is a trend.
It has nothing to do with being seasonally appropriate, it has nothing to do with what fashion's been doing literally since its existence.
Oh, and you shot yourself in the foot there
>B-but, it's the popular thing!
Ha! No, its only popular on /fa/. Every other fashion community doesn't recognize this "trend" you're so excited about, because it's what happens every year in spring.
I'm not even going to continue responding to you dude, cause you obviously #ethered and you obviously too new to fashion to hold any worthwhile discussion bb ;-)
Your point is invalid because when the #menswear crowd got pushed out monochrome got called nxtlvl daily. /fa/ is changing. Get with it, or go to reddit. /mfa/ has been getting into monochrome lately
Go back to reddit with the negativity. The /streetwear and /malefashion reddit's are full of teens in all black calling eachother fuccboi.
We're being chill and pale, angst and angryposting aren't very fa or pale, they're very reddit and neckbeard, just like all black clothing.
Teach me your chill, confident, relaxed, aloof wabi sabi pale ways, my palebros and palesis's
Reddits r/streetwear and r/malefashion are all over all black lately, your unchill unpale angst and insecurities are welcome there. You seem like a perfect fit for reddit with all your lack of confidence and angst
This is what /fa/ has become.
>w2c that sweater w2c that sweater w2c that sweater where do I cop stonewash denim w2c those socks w2c I need that for my 'palewave' fit w2c
>is theo palewave
>wait a second is this normcore
>will birthday fuck my ass one day /fa/?
Fuccbois the lot of you.
Also peep this guy's dope monochrome fit
Rick Owens Raf Simmons usually what she's dressed in so goth so edgy so monochrome
what is it with the attitude in these threads
>lol if you dont like it go back to reddit
>lol autistic monochrome
>haha so ahead of the curve
you bandwagoning fuckers act like you werent decked out in monochrome last month
in a year this will be replaced by another trend
>lmao autisic bedsheet mom jeans pale ghosts get out, earth tones or nothing
saying this i do love the colour scheme
w2c palewave gf to be washed away with
>return to this board to see what's happening
>see that sandninja still hasn't been picked up
>something called palewave is popular
>log off immediately
Maybe next year ya'll will get some fashion sense
>like sweater design
>omh ur such a wannabe
Does anyone else not understand /fa/ in general but comes here to find cool cloths? I don't try to look stylish or hipster, I just like sweaters and that design in particular. :(
I've already shat up this thread but here's one pic for you bbz
wow now /fa/ is on "palewave"
i guess I've been on this for the last year except i just called it fucking pastel like a sane person
heres a free hint if you do not have pale skin you are not going to look fucking good in "palewave"
chill man chill
When will palewave hit the mainstream? I don't want it to be picked up like normcore was.
Like I love palewave but the whole 'le normcore seinfield' thing killed it for me.
How long do we have lads?
Look at Brazilian favelas, this is sick.
how pale is this guys. unfortunately to hot for sweaters or pants where i live.
Your just wearing stuff from UO summer stuff like 2 years ago, and calling it fashionable. Mixing patterns like that is fucking awful coupled with your shit face, and poverty filled life makes for a very grotesque picture.
Are you actually trying to explain fashion to people on /fa/. All these kids think they are super special because they discovered light colors look good together but only seem to be made in the summer and spring time. I won't doubt that I like the washed out look, but to call it a new trend or the new monochrome is fucking retarded.
Colors like jade, royal blue, bright red and canary yellow will always be in. They can look futuristic or classic if done a certain way. I'd try and toss some into your wardrobe if you could, and just know that half of fa will always disagree with your opinion.
>tfw you dress this way specifically to suit your pale skin colour
>tfw a bunch of faggots are going to turn this into a recognisable trend
>tfw you're going to be associated with this trend
>tfw you'll have to get a tan and some new, darker clothes
Thanks guys, all y'all are thirsty as fuck for a trend hop.
I don't really have a problem with palewave, if you enjoy it that's fine, but you have to admit this is what makes other boards laugh at us.
I visit other boards and they always take the piss out of us, either thinking we're all gothninjas, /fit/ are the biggest ones.
Literally no one else except for 'palewave' people (very small vocal minority) on a Chinese anonymous anime imageboard are going to compliment your style.
this is the gayest shit I've ever seen
even goofninja was better than this lmao
I did too actually.
I think like one person must have seen some of >>8518003 fits posted and just kind of made up the term palewave to get more of that kind of inspo posted and tons of people were instantly onboard finding similar stuff. Over a few days the word got used more and more bringing to light the fact that it's kind of a dumb name for something that doesn't really need a name but it has too much momentum now to be changed meaning some love it and some seriously hate it.
But like me everyone kind of likes the look regardless because it's a weird mix of every type of look and even though the colors and most of the silhouettes are not new, some of the looks are a bit more relaxed and refreshing.
I've been on /fa/ for years now too so im not really sure whats going on right now but I definitely feel the same vibe even though I'm a little wary of it based on how fast it's accelerating and the weird subculture name association it has.
I was at a party yestnerday and saw a dude and a grill (mayb his gf) and they were drecked in FULL palewave garments and I shit u not, they looked patrician as fuck.
Was mirin hard as fuckk I should ad.
Any more palewave close encoumters irl tho?
>just kind of made up the term palewave to get more of that kind of inspo posted and tons of people were instantly onboard finding similar stuff
I think that's pretty much right, but
>the weird subculture name association it has.
this is kind of killing the board. When poet did it with "lunarcore," he didn't even call it that it that at first* - it was experiment and research into the sort of look and vibe he was interested in. It was very much not an attempt at trend forecasting, but a personal thing. Dude was just trying to get dressed, in a way.
Even as it blew up, it stayed like that, just others were like, "yeah, this is what I've been waiting for." Sure, you got some people asking "iz dis lunoorcurr," trying to emulate it because they wanted to be like Big Daddy P or whatever, but that was rare.
It was real, vital, even authentic. Then a certain NY Mag story introduced /fa/ casuals to a bizarro version of the world of trend forecasting with a trend largely about accessibility**, and this explosive reaction happened: guy getting getting big reps on /fa/ for coming up with his own style + the previously (and wrongly) mocked world of Tumblr subcultures + the idea of trend forecasting + the real broad trend in play here, desaturated colors, loose silhouettes, and more pragmatic clothing = people on /fa/ all trying to be hypebeasts for people trying to be the next poet, trying to come up with the next big, reified style when there really is no such thing, and none of the big fashion trends have arisen so inorganically. And despite the fact that trend-hopping is fucking stupid and inhuman.
Ditch all that discourse. Just talk about the clothes, feelings, and concepts that you have or that interest you. Remember the point of conceptualizing and naming things is to understand what is, not to make fetch happen, and that the point of clothes is the total experience of wearing them.
Those were the first two Lunarcore threads. That's how you do it right.
Zero of this is targeted at the poster I was replying to, who seems like he gets it - his post just gave me a good jumping off point for my rant.
PSA over, go back to talking about the clothes you (and FTR, I) like.
*I don't remember him calling it that, actually, until it became sort of a necessary shorthand.
** Another poison in the mix: Stunted Internet elitists trying to engage with the essentially incompatible idea of accessibility. Also, I might as well throw in here that I don't think K-HOLE's concepts are useful in talking about the clothes in question, although accessibility is definitely a thing going on with them.
Profound write-up. Palewave started as a parody of all the things you listed, but it's just kind of growing (organic or not) and someone attributed a positive, relaxed powerful attitude with it, so I've been sitting back and watching it play out. I just intended on some kind of vague anti-gothninja that took a life of it's own with the "chill" and "dece" and palletes. If me owning up to this kills what "palewave" that sucks, because it's become an interesting rally for people sick of the rampant arguing and negativity and insecurity around here
Oh, it was a parody? That goes to show how closely I've been following the text posts in these threads, or maybe how far it got away from that and I missed the first one or something.
Good job, anyway. I don't think it'll kill it, though, or at least I hope not - people seem genuinely into these clothes and hopefully it'll *save* it from people thinking it's like buying into some Internet club or whatever.
>the rampant arguing and negativity and insecurity around here
Oh, yeah. Message to these people: everyone feels combative, negative, or insecure sometimes. Collaborative, positive, welcoming environments are one of the best ways to get out of that self-destructive space. You can help us build one on here - no matter what nominal style you like. Lunarcore was never my style, but I loved the threads anyway, because it was amazing to watch people work on the clothes they liked, that I liked to look at, and to think it through with them. And IRL, styles are never rigid or codified - you could construct a "palewave" outfit entirely out of the supreme Internet "gothninja" label Rick if you wanted to. In fact, Rick's even got a palewave-ish womens' diffusion brand, Lilies. How's that for "gothninja?"
The general style is called "Fair Isle," after a tiny ass Scottish island that became famous for doing stuff like that. They're generally more saturated, but stuff is out there. Try a search for like "pastel fair isle" or something.
Ooh, just saw this, ace post.
also this, pls.
i see so many dope light wash fits but no one ever posts w2c. OL/APC are okay but too expensive, and levis only has 1-2 half decent light washes.
where is the middle ground, /fa/
