Oats with soy milk and a little honey.

Chicken and spinach salad (no dressing).

For dinner either a baked chicken breast with a lot of broccoli, extra lean beef mince + wholemeal pasta and sauce or salmon with brown rice.

Snacks are usually an apple or a slice of wholemeal grain bread with some natural peanut butter.

Usually works out to around 1500 calories.

BTW, why do we call what are, technically speaking, kilocalories, simply "calories"? Seems unnecessarily confusing. Like simply calling kilometers "meters" just because it's quicker or something.

In fact, think think of how many more calories we could be burning a day if we actually said "kilocalories" instead of "calories." Like, maybe four or something. Four actual calories, not kilocalories. Shit still builds up, tho.

A normal size hamburger is around 750-1000 kcal. the fries are another 500 and the coke 400. I'm male and do physical labour so I need aroun 3000 for the day, hence I need 1000 more calories.

I've always been bouncing around trying different diets, because I was seriously overweight. Tried the 5-6 small meals a day, tried keto, tried paleo, etc.

Then I tried intermittent fasting, which usually advocates a 4-8 hour eating window.
I liked it a lot for it's hunger reducing effects, and just took it one step further than what you'd normally see recommended. I could see someone doing low-carb intermittent fasting, but frankly, low-carb makes every physical activity twice as exhausting, and I hated feeling low-energy. Right now I make sure to eat 85g of protein, and around 135g of carbs, rest of calories from fat.

I almost always skip lunch and try to never snack during the day. It's not a perfect diet but it keeps my weight constant.

I'm leaving ottermode and working on becoming ripped, so my diet is very precise and health oriented.

Typically eggs with mushrooms for breakfast.

Either a sandwich with some meats/cheeses/tomatoes/etc, half a bagel with salmon and creamcheese, or some oatmeal with ground flaxseed and honey for lunch.

Random things for dinner, but usually some protein and vegetables, or some sort of soup and salad, depending on my activity levels for the day.

I also snack on banana or a citrus fruit, almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, deli meats, cottage cheese, peanut butter, and stuff like that throughout the day.

I typically drink only water, green tea, and milk. I will occasionally have a beer or wine with dinner as appropriate.

You can do that, it's a little bit worse for your metabolism, since your stomach isn't active most of the day, but it's not as big a deal as most people think.
