I work + go to school, so I'll stay within the 100-250 range for breakfast, skip lunch, and eat when I get home. I tide myself over with coffee, energy drinks/vitamin water and pills, and if I eat the remainder of my calories when I get home it makes it easier to feel full and less likely to binge/purge.
It gets easier as you progress. It sucked to not eat lunch for the first four weeks, and then it got better to handle- I believe you anon :00

one important thing to remember is that most of the time when you "feel hungry", you're just bored and default to eating something to get rid of that feeling. replace that by doing something you like doing, drinking water etc

i'm a student, i skip breakfast because i like waking up late and i fill a travel mug with coffee that i drink during the first class. i don't eat at school, i eat some fruit after coming back home and drink tea until it's around 5pm when i have a dinner of ~600 calories. might not work for everyone but i like it

Should I continue to lose weight or maintain instead?

Initial goal was 50 kg. Currently about 53-54 kg. At times it feels fine like this, but at others I really want to reach that particular number. Other people tell me I look too skinny already however, even though at a BMI of about 18 I do not think I am alarmingly underweight or anything. Female by the way, apparently confuses some people.

I know. It is not just the photo, I think. I never had the most female body features, but after losing some weight they are even less prominent. I barely have any ass left and lost quite some fat at my waist area as well, making it look even smaller now.

Will getting thinner make my waist to hip ratio better? Right now my waist circumference is 35in and my hips are 41in.

I'm looking to lose 30-40lbs, will they both shrink accordingly or should the difference between them get wider. I don't feel much fat on my hips.

You'll still burn calories walking, but significantly more if you run instead. How much will vary on how fast you can actually run. If you're not used to running, I wouldn't jump straight into an 8k run. Consider running 5k, walking for 1k running, running 1 at a faster pace than your 5k, and using the last 1 for a cool down. If your schedual is tight like mine, running also saves a lot more time compared to walking.

Yeah, definetly grab some running shoes and just some basic gym shorts. Shirt won't matter as much unless it's like a graphic shirt that might rub your nipples raw. I personally run on a treadmill nowdays so I can better keep track on how fast/far i'm running, however for people just starting to run, I reccomend running outside. I've been running 3-6 miles a day 5 times a week, and it still sucks every time, and the hardest part is just forcing yourself to keep doing it on a regular basis. By running outside you can kinda force yourself to keep going by setting up a course that ends up back to your home or car, that way you don't really have a choice. Even if you end up walking some of it, there's still caloric burn it that. Just make sure you make it part of your lifestyle, most people that say they want to run, end up quitting on themselves.

Yeah, making the effort is rough. I already walk about 8km a day, so even if running fucks me up it will save me time. For walking I already do what you said, I walk away from my house for 4km. Then I have no choice but to walk another 4km back.

A treadmill would be nice but that requires a lot of money and floorspace that I don't have. One day.

I'll start slow and probably do more walking than running at first, work my way up to just only running. I have a Fitbit which makes keeping track of distance and speed nice and easy.

Anyone got experience with the 8 hour diet? Where you eat only during an 8 hour period then fast for the rest of the day.

during flare-ups i can leave bed, but not for very long. mostly just to go to the bathroom.

usually though i can walk around a bit. not sure about jogging because my knees are bad. i like walking laps at the park when i can.

I'm quite thin, 6'0" and about 125 lbs. Body fat <15%. Visible ribs and very pronounced collarbones.

Intermittent fasting is I think what you're looking for. I do 16:8 everyday for a few months now. It works pretty well it's helped me lose 25 pounds so far. I eat from 10 am to 6 pm. You should try it out and see if it's right for you

Having a larger breakfast in the morning speeds up your metabolism for the rest of the day plus you will be able to function at work/school without much hunger. I always skip breakfast and usually lunch, only eat dinner. I try to keep my calories under 500 a day. And as for excercise; I work out 3 times a week for 1.5 hours and walk at least 4km a day.

Dropped down from 85,2kg. I still feel really fucking fat. I don't know if it's my weight distribution. But my upper abs are pretty thin fat-wise. Not visible. But a small layer.

On the other hand the biggest thing I hate about my body is the fat buldge I have on my lower abs right at my bellybutton. I guess my body fat percentage is too high still. Will ~900 calories a day. The same I have been doing for 2 months now. Get rid of it in some time. Or do you actually need excercise to lower your fat percentage?

I hope you feel better. For a while, when my depression was really bad, I lived in a high floor condo and my shower looked out the balcony. Every morning I'd think about jumping. Depression comes in waves though, and eventually I felt a bit better. Now I don't think about killing myself every day, it's more a numb and despondent feeling.

Reaching your goal weight does help, but, the joy wanes quickly and then the reality of having to maintain sets in.

I guess I don't have anything to make you feel better, only that I struggled the most in my 20s, but my 30s are easier. Numbness is better than the turmoil.

I also struggle with this. Having some carbs before drinking helps to not get hammered too quickly and I am less likely to binge then. Also sticking to beer helps me. It's a lot of calories, but I can sip it slowly and it fills me up, so again I'm less likely to binge. Good luck anon

Yeah I noticed that too. Although for me it's less emotional eating and more about eating to just feel something. Like sometimes I just feel super empty and dead, and food is one of the only things that'll alleviate that a bit. If that happens to you at all, and normal things (in my case TV and video games) lose their luster and don't work to distract you, I'd suggest just going to bed early since I haven't found anything else so far that works.


And what the other anon said about not beating yourself up for slipping up is really huge. I used to beat myself up for eating even 100cal over my limit, which would spiral to eating 3000 cal over. Now I can stop myself at an amount I can easily make up the next day by just sort of accepting that these things happen.
