Are high top converses cool? I'm really having a hard time

I'm personally not a fan of the high tops, and the lows are overplayed anyway

The all white or all black ones are cool.

Logo subdued ones. The classic white ones are an honorable mention (as opposed to the all white ones)

Prefer simple colorways (white, black, tan) other than loser/hypebeast colors (like green and red)

I've owned a few pairs of high tops and what I've found is they look better when they're not on your feet. When you actually have to wear them and lace them up they look goofy to me. Idk.

OP here. This is exactly how I feel. But could that just be because when they're not on your feet you're looking at them from a different angle? So they'd look good to everyone else except you?

They are great for rainy days and days when you would get your white ones dirty.

As for the normal white ones (the ones with the red stripe) I've had a pair since early 2014 and I just wash them in the wash on cold (alone) and they hold up just fine and are not yellow.

I think they look good because it's the sort of shoe you actually wear.

I don't buy for a second any dude walking around in stiff leather sole shoes that isn't for work. shit's uncomfortable, annoying, and only looks good when you over dress.

converse is as close as we'll ever have to a school uniform. looks good because you're not begging for attention.

It isn't just the angle IMO. I considered that too but I began looking at how they look laced up on other people and have concluded they still look a bit goofy. I'm sure there are some lucky people out there who can pull the look off but I haven't seen one of them yet.
If anyone knows a way to attain the "loose fitting" look with converse or hightops in general please chime in.

they're iconic. everyone has a pair, like adidas. so they're not "fashionable" or "unfashionable" by themselves, because theyre so ubiquitous, it depends entirely on what you wear them with.

Fit is more tight, it has a real sole like a real shoe so its comfy.

Just checked the sizes, they are the same between originals and IIs. Fit is definately different.

I've never tried any athletic activity in them. People who run in them say its possible but not preferable. I regularly lift in my original chucks but never really run in them.

Just ordered these. I really like the minimalist design with the black stitching and the lack of stripe on the sole. I've also really warmed up to the CDG Play logo and prefer it over the Converse logo of the Chucks/Chucks II.

Is there any difference between these and the cheapo Chucks (my last pair from a department store). Are they better built, more comfortable, etc or is the only difference their appearance?
