Growing up in mk when road man was the only acceptable fashion style at school was a dark time.

Here in Newcastle theres been almost tribal warfare between three groups of teenage lads; radgies, spicers, and roadmen.

Radgies are what most people would call chavs, but slightly different. Their shoes are usually nike tns or 95s, thought 90s are not uncommon. Trousers are tracksuit bottoms, either fleece or polyester. Berghaus jackets and especially fleeces are a must. This might sound like typical chavcore but they also mix in football hooligan elements (especially when going "to toon" or going to see the match. Casually, this is shown by the fact that they often wear brands like paul and shark, sergio taccini, and that kind of thing. They listen to nothing but new monkey makina tunes.

Spicers are those people with "meet me at mcdonalds" haircuts and those adidas condivo training pants. They often wear either huaraches or zx fluxs on their feet, with adidas training pants, and puffer jackets. They're much more likely to be middle class than radgies and realisticly are a larger but less pro-active and defensive group than radgies. They listen to grime.

Roadmen are just any nonwhite youth and dress like typical roadmen, speak with a strange mixture of geordie and london youth slang, and are often seen hanging around outside eat 4 less. They listen to grime.


Radgies and roadmen can get along reasonably well, though radgies see the other group as "fake", while roadmen see radgies as being "stupid white bois". Spicers look up to roadmen and clearly want to be them, though recognising that they're white middle class boys, accept that that isn't going to happen. They're know to be scared of roadmen, so get no respect from them. Radgies and spicers are absolute sworn enemies; radgies think spicers are a bunch of "melts" who "don't even sniff bubble" and spicers hate radgies for the same reason everyone else hates chavs.
