here let me make a less often made case for the .40, first off the 229 was designed to handle it from the ground up compared to the older sig models. It's over engineered to handle even the hottest 40 loads. Second 40 isn't much more than a 9mm now in cost. And third... in non shtf panic modes like when Obama was elected each time and panic buys drained all the ammunition supply... 40 was one of the few calibers you could reliably get ammunition for. It's fairly scare proof. Also the 229 handles it's 'snappy' nature very well. No matter how you feel on stopping power or any silly thoughts of that there's plenty of reasons why the 40 should be considered. Plus when you can get a deal like 450 for a good gun it might be worth considering regardless of your bias expecially if budget is a concern.

The whole argument hinges on the validity of the BRÅ data. Not only are such surveys notoriously unreliable - they are opt-in and ask questions relating to very sensitive topics - but they can easily be manipulated to produce desired results. Such numbers manipulation has happened by both U.S. political parties on a regular basis for years. Where there's increasing public evidence of a sexual assault issue growing in a country yet the numbers don't budge, it reasonably raises a huge question mark over the validity of the data. It is also particularly questionable given that numerous other studies show a marked correlation between foreigners and rape in Sweden - a rise in foreigners would predictably result in a rise in rape (absent research explaining the contrary).

It's also hilarious that he accounts a small bump in crime in the survey - a non-governmental collection of data - with expanding registration efforts and definitions of rape. Neither of those things should have an affect on poll responses: "Oh, I guess I was raped now that the definition includes..." is almost certainly not an actual thought in any Swedish woman's head. They will believe they were or were not raped. Whether or not it was counted individually or as a single charge has absolutely no bearing on survey responses unless proven otherwise (what do they do, ask for the number of men to be written into a little box for them to multiply against, like a tax form?)

The writer basically finds data he likes, finds a few reasons to justify it, and jumps to the pulpit without any form of deep thought on the subject. Like a goddamn college student in a political science course.

(Don't get me wrong - I'm not saying that it doesn't have a lot to do with socioeconomic status, etc. I'm saying it's willfully blind to pretend that the foreign population of Sweden isn't committing a disproportionately huge percentage of the crime)
