I cook and bake a lot, making high quality, healthy food is good for weight loss and looking/feeling wholesome. I usually give most of my baking away. I enjoy it
I also sow and knit, making mostly my own patterns, it takes time, patience and practice but is very calming and if you find the right fabrics you can make decent replicas
Both are quite cheap and fashion related

I also ride a pretty simple motorbike (Enfield) so I spend some time fixing it, learning how it works etc.
and snowboard in winter which is just fun

If you don't know anything about art it's probably more interesting than you think. Especially if you start poking your head into different countries (superstars tend to drown out the best) or you start looking for art where it intersects with various agendas and disciplines.

Photorealist doodling is a party trick. It caters to people who think that repetitive tasks+a ton of time=hard work=good.

If you want to whip out your phone and show it to people then just copying photos in pen and pencil will get you some compliments. However anyone in the know will wonder why you're pouring time into a hobby with such a low skill ceiling where your work looks the same everyone else's. Maybe it's a zen thing, because it certainly isn't a creative hobby.

Learning to actually draw will look like shit for a while, but down the line you can DO stuff with it.
