ITT: ask about and show tattoos
babbys 1st tattoo
bitches can bitch but i love it and i love my mama too!
My dad is covered in tattoos so tattoos have always been a normie thing for me. I've never seen the big deal of it.
My friend got a tiny foot tattoo and her mother didn't talk to her for a month
the current shit tier tattoos I notice these days more than barbed wire:
>anything america related
So far geometric tattoos are still very well pulled off. The only people who get them are eccentric hipster kids, which is basically what everyone who isn't a neckbeard on this board is.
I'm planning on getting my first tattoos in the near future. I'm getting a cobra that comes up my right side, from the right side of my waist up to my ribcage. I also want to get a wolfsangel and a leviathan cross. Being how they've been adopted by the Nazis and the church of satan respectively, do you guys think they'll offend people or scare them off?
When I was 18 I got a dumbass pentagram on one forearm and a dumbass cross on the other. I'm 25 now and regret the retardedness everyday. Why do we make such stupid decisions with our bodies. What should I get to cover each?I used to be a edgelord idiot now I'm just a regular guy.
Most tattoos aren't /fa/, and a thread full of people saying "Hey will this look good?" won't work. "Does this look good" threads in general don't work, be a bit more specific. Most tattoos aren't fa, and if you're getting one I really hope you don't take /fa/s advice on what to get.
>get "faggot" tattooed on your forehead
Most tattoos look fucking stupid, and the story / bullshit justification people have for having them is also stupid.
Inb4 butthurt "hey anon x died and this is dedicated to" - whatever
>if you're getting one I really hope you don't take /fa/s advice on what to get.
Tattoos are permanent, unlike clothing. Asking for /fa/s advice on something you're going to have on your skin for the rest of your life is just dumb. Tattoos shouldn't be about fashion imo.
>then again I'm one of those fags who has self-designed tats for personal reasons or dedicated to my dead parents
tattoos are trashy but sometimes trashy is a good aesthetic
>Not getting your true love's name for maximum blue-collar/gruff oldtimer swag
Even if she dies or leaves me it's still perfect for looking like a cool old dude with a dramatic backstory when I'm ancient.
No, it'll look like you and the artist were drunk at the time.
Get something with fewer scribbley lines. I'm sure there's a fox drawing somewhere that's both good and not autistic.
Dope. Never gotten a tattoo before and I want this on my rib cage. Opinions?
>getting a random picture you found on the internet with no particular meaning to you permanently marked on your body
you guys have poor long-term decision making skills
I was thinking of something similar - ink or sink?
asspizza's hand tattoo doesn't look bad
My first tattoo, at the age of 16. Pic related
this is exactly why I don't get tattoos.
People automatically assume you're stupid as fuck, and even if you achieve success it makes you look dumb.
Starting to save up for something along these lines. Always wanted to have a drawing of mine tattooed.
I have a tiny tattoo I got to remind me of Albert Camus' Myth of Sisyphus. I wanted to kill myself and the essay came to me when I was in a really dark place and I started feeling better about my life. Not that aesthetic but it's nice to look down and see and think, "the struggle itself towards the heights is enough to fill a man's heart. One must imagine Sisyphus happy."
Mmmm classic laocoon. Snakes are always a fun motif. Artistically an icon of frustration and constriction though.
"though though they do remind me of my struggles, ups and downs, throughout life - the execution and presentation is uninspired."
there you go.
Thanks! I don't claim to be any sort of enlightened buddhist but I really like the concept of the golden fish. Getting along with peeps is a seriously big deal I've found out.
Hey I'm sorry if I offended you, it was meant to be a critique more than an attack.
I don't think people can really diss anything about a tattoo other than the craftsmanship or lack there-of.
your tattoo has a reasonable meaning behind it, it doesn't have to have be aesthetically pleasing. It also not that ugly but you could have been able to place it somewhere nicer desu
yeah the placement is kinda awkward but I wanted it to be very easy to hide and I wanted to be able to look at it. I would have liked it on my chest but I'm hairy as fuck. Outside the bicep looks better for showing to people and stuff but you have to awkwardly move your arm to look at it
Nice, this looks great
I got this tattoo at the start of the year, its actually a bit more detailed than the picture shows.
i was fucking this single mom a few weeks ago who had a tattoo with her children's names on a tramp stamp. i have no idea why she got it there but she was a bit socially retarded, so maybe she didn't understand the connotation.
it was the first night we had gone out and she told me not to use a condom because she was on the pill.
it made it extra weird when i pulled out and came on her children's names but i did it anyway.
they aren't, it's a subculture that is only barely noticed by """the mainstream""", and even then only in an extremely watered down state
unrelated is a minimal black/skin "moon phases" thing a chick tat
You realise that's Roald dahl Fantastic Mr Fox?
I want something similar to this on my calf
You know it would really help if I included the pic
They're pretty cool man. Saved.
Reminds me of this for some reason:
Watercolored tattoos will be the tribal/barbed wire of the 10's, calling it now. Geometric will likely stand the test of time.
its hard to take a picture of, but i like mine
Got this a little over a week ago on my left shoulder
Picture is upside down tho. Inner forearm.
cringey as fuck m8
all you want is someone to ask "what's the meaning" and then you tell your emo story where you thought about suicide once but weer too pussy to go through with it and 15 year old scene girls find you more attractive 6 years ago but those days are over and now you just got a shitty line and a circle on you
i got this a couple weeks ago on my thigh, should i get the eyes/brows filled in black and get a border of some kind to enclose it? like an oval or circle?
Thinking of getting this maybe uncoloured on my inner forearm thoughts?
Getting the skull on my inner forearm
Anyone know what this means? Russian prison tattoo, with a keylock on the forehead... Does it mean they were trapped physically but only they - the prisoners - could lock themselves i.e. their minds, away.
Never, ever explain your tattoos
It will always sound cringey as fuck, no matter how deep/meaningful/badass it really is to you
When people ask, just say that you have got your reasons
I have never even spoken to a Russian, let alone would I walk into a bar that hosts them in their numbers and specifically those with criminal associations that recognise prison imagery.
Its for them to know..all them are subjective to their meaning. Not since the mid to late 80s did they have a certain meaning because newer younger inmates where getting w.e they want and when ever they want. Its bettet to just stay away from them.
I do appreciate you trying to hard to deter me though, you're welcome to the last laugh if I get killed.
>"If" will not deter my actions
What if there's a short explanation?
I'm kind of wanting to get a tattoo of a heptagon or heptagram (7-pointe.d shape or star). Or some combination of the two. And really, that's just because there are 7 people in my family.
Idc what a person does, it just silly to get a tattoo criminals would get. Your kinda puttinf yourself in a bad situation also if people know better they might not associate with you/be denied a job. Happens all the time in eastern europe.. my tattoo guy wont do any poltical or criminal tats, so you might have that problem...but to each his own...
Don't know why I'd do that.
I looked a little more and it turns out there's a lot of neat imagery with heptagons.
This for one.
Here's the other. I don't know if having a tattoo of this would make people think I'm a Satanist, though.
my friend went to vegas and got a girl's name tattoo'd on his neck
then he went back a year or so later and got it crossed out and put the name of a girl he met that time under it
he did it on purpose and it's pretty funny/looks kind of cool
reminds me of these, traditional bosnian tatoos
I've got an idea for one, but first I need you /fa/iries' opinion. I want something like this, but instead of holding the globe, Atlas is standing on top of it, but in the same pose.
i got my first tattoo today to see if i could handle the pain long enough to do my "real shit" tattoos in march.
is it /fa/ at all
The celestial spheres support us, not the other way around. The only meaning in our minuscule, ephemeral existence is that which we ascribe to it. Atlas isn't supporting creation, he's supporting the meaning it holds for him, and that requires hard work.
just to elucidate this whole cringe feel for anybody who is interested: it's because it comes across as grossly self absorbed. It's like "this tattoo is such an important part of me. This is who I am. Let me tell you about who I am, just look at this tattoo". no disrespect to the guy who posted that shit tho gl
A tattoo should mean something to the person getting it, after all it's permanently drawn on them and all that. but yeah, I agree, telling other people about it trying to impress them is stupid as hell.
>tatto should mean something
Oh boy, it looks like the fun police just showed up.
Look faggot, if you want to understand what you're talking about, you should look into the history of traditional tattoos. They didn't get them because of some meaning, they got them because they wanted something they could keep and incorporate into their life, sometimes they just wanted to support the artist. Getting a meaningful tattoo is middle class white girl shit and thats because they want to pretend and feel deep to justify their pathetic existance.
Me would be funnier, your real name Will Also lead People to believe (Who dont know you) that there is a special person in your life, that's atleast how I think about it.
Funny and original idea though.
Also sorry for random caps, phone is acting like a lil baby bitch
Mine from a while back, first tattoo, want to get another but don't know 100% what so I won't rush it
It's driving me crazy. I really want tattoos but I want something original that wont look too dated within 5-10 years and I just can't find any good ideas.
I really like black and grey realism stuff, but I can't think of anything decent. I also like bold-lined traditional-ish tattoos, but at the same time I think they look a bit messy and childish perhaps.
I just can't make my mind up, but everyday I spend at least 30 minutes looking at tattoos and trying to get ideas and it's just burning me out so much. I want to commit to a specific style so they don't look out of place.
Not to mention I hate the idea that so many plebs are getting tattoos nowadays that it's no longer that "cool" to have tattoos.
>not drawing your own shit tattoo ideas that people will make fun of you for
No, I wouldn't just do "me", that seems kind of unoriginal and obvious.
I think your real name would be better.
Do it all girly and cursive so you can't really tell without studying it a little.
Or do comic sans. Your choice.
Medieval manuscript/codex/woodcut tattoos are some of then only ones that look any good.
sup b. it's not /fa/, but if it's /fa/ to you then that's all that matters.
Would something in that style be an effay way to show off my nerdness without being cringeworthily blunt about it?
Ofcourse it wouldn't be nerdish, most People wouldn't know what it means, if they ask you you can say none of your fucking business. Also those look nice, if you like em, go for it.
Do enough people recognize the Wolfsangel for it to be a bad idea as a tattoo?
Tattoo isn't blurry. Just blurry picture. What do ya think
>it made it extra weird when i pulled out and came on her children's names but i did it anyway.
just got this 20 mins ago
I always thought some of Andzrej Klimowski's drawings would make good tattoos.
Do you reckon this could work?
Do you think this would make for a good tattoo?
You guys like some pretty shitty tattoos. I'm dumping some I've found.
I actually found this on a girl from okcupid. Stole the pic from her profile.
Check out these links for great tattoos.
That's fucking cool. I like how the eyes just dont seem quite right. It's resting in a weird, cozy cave in the middle of the uncanny valley.
Jesus that looks great.
Interested in Lee Brown Coye. Would defo consider getting one of his works as a small, first tattoo as I'm very interested in the macabre, and I'm also keen on art.
Any artists similar to this?
I'm planning on getting my first tattoos in the near future. I'm getting this on my entire back, opinions?
Cool shit, bottom left sort of reminds me of a less intense Scary Stories to Tell In the Dark illustration. That could be something to look into for macabre.
Really like that African witch doctor looking one.
I'm considering getting this one done, although I don't know what area I want it done in. I'm pretty much guaranteed to get a job in a business position where tattoos might be frowned upon. What's a safe area?
Been thinking about getting a knight on hose back charging into battle. Kind of wants something minimal pic related
this stuff is cool
>When people ask, just say that you have got your reasons
Late reply but that sounds even more cringey desu senpai
You unavoidably come across as if you are begging them to ask "what reasons?" and if you don't answer you come across desperate to appear mysterious because you have no personality
Just say you think it looks cool or you like the artstyle
