Let's pay tribute to one of the most aesthetic people to ever live.
>Just got back from the gym
>Decide to look at twitter on my phone before bed
>See two separate people talk about David Bowie
>What a funny coincidence
>See a third
>I wonder what this might be all abou-

David Bowie turned marketing into the essence of his art. All great phenomena of popular music, from Elvis Presley to the Beatles, had been, first and foremost, marketing phenomena (just like Coca Cola and Barbie before them); however, Bowie turned that into an art of its own. With Bowie the science of marketing becomes art; art and marketing become one. There were intellectuals who had proclaimed this theory in rebellious terms. Bowie was, in many ways, the heir, no matter how perverted, of Andy Warhol's pop art and of the underground culture of the 1960s. He adopted some of the most blaspheme issues and turned them upside down to make them precisely what they had been designed to fight: a commodity.
Bowie was a protagonist of his times, although a poor musician: to say that Bowie is a musician is like saying that Nero was a harp player (a fact that is technically true, but misleading). Bowie embodies the quintessence of artificial art, raises futulity to paradigm, focuses on the phenomenon rather than the content, makes irrelevant the relevant, and, thus, is the epitome of everything that went wrong with rock music.
So yeah /fa/ as fuck.
piss poor description
really fuck off with posting scrauffi b8 copypasta and show some fucking respect. you're not getting any points with /mu/, in fact bowie is/was one of the most respected mainstream artists on the board,
i saw this gif (and then the movie) a few months back... it made me stop wearing graphic tees/band shirts and switch to white shirts
i thought: "if bowie can look good in a simple outfit, so can i"
thank you david
had like 10 messages this morning from different people telling me he is dead...
always fond of him. he was my favourite artist
I think he was the most /fa/ in his berlin period
he tried to dress like a he would in normal life (instead of personalities like thin white duke, aladdin sane etc.)
proceeding to upload rare ones
don't remember her name unfortunately
Thanks man, gonna miss him but atleast he lived a great life.
Im going to start dumping my favourite gifs I have of him
He was probably my single greatest influence and was pivotal to my coming of age
Much love to great man
Yes. Funny thing about his music is that his style is constantly changing so you can connect with him in a random part of your life. There is a song and a personality of him for you to emphatize and connect.
Like love, pain, suffering, excitement, feeling good etc.
He will always be remembered.
Ill finish by posting one of his most powerful songs to me, it helped me in my hardest time where I was coming out as gay and expelled from my school around the same time. Its so sad to know he's past on and his music will always sound slightly different knowing this, but I'm happy he gave us what he did and changed so many of us.
Gotta give him props for putting Luther Vandross (the R&B GOAT) on
Everything feels a lot less colourful today.
And it will stay like that forever.
The world will never be the same without him.
Or the devil who knows
RIP in piece you magnificent bastard
Tfw you will never be a legendary rockstar with a supermodel wife
I REMEMBER SEEING THE BOWIE ‘DIAMOND DOGS’ ALBUM COVER IN THE SALES BIN AT THE KMART IN MY LITTLE TOWN. I FELT A SECRET I DIDN’T EVEN KNOW I HAD HAD BEEN DISCOVERED AND EXPOSED. IT MADE ME VERY UNCOMFORTABLE AT THE TIME… THE MONSTER GLAMOUR OF THAT COVER MADE ME FEEL THERE WAS A PLACE FOR ME IN THE WORLD.
He influenced everything from music to fashion. RIP you beautiful bastard.
Biggest loss in music since John Lennon died.
Rest in peace, Ziggy.
He was the inspiration for one of the coolest villains in Jojo
But John Lennon was an ingenuine prick. He was like some mook while Bowie was a Titan.
does anyone know what that leather jacket is?
here's another pic with better angle
this looks the same
