What is the best ecchi anime in your opinion?
In terms of:
I will post in the meantime.
The monogatari series would rank pretty high for art quality. Although it's not a fully fanservice oriented show, there are many notable ecchi moments, especially in nisemonogatari. Also it has a much better plot than most series that exist only for the ecchi content.
There is a lot of eye candy of Holo in the story, and a great story
Outlanders also has a strong relationship comning of age as well as a good romp
Omamori Himari, but manga, anime's kind of crappy.
The art and designs are well done. The story is... well, acceptable for an ecchi harem, but it gets pretty annoying towards the end, and the main hero is of course as generic as much as he can get.
Zero No Tsukaima FTW
Really like the plot and production
Fanservice here and there but definitively not watching with girlfriend
Im still loling
Most ecchi anime, including many of those mentioned in this thread, have insufferably bad writing that kills boners far too hard to make me fap to the show.
The Monogatari series is great, but it has little in the way of real, sustained fapability. Collecting a few gifs is better than actually trying to fap to the show. Watch it for the writing though.
Godannar and Bakuretsu Tenshi are two of the only shows I can think of with high levels of fapability that I can actually say I enjoyed watching in the past, for non-fap reasons. In the present? Kill la Kill, of course.
Although, quality of the actual shows aside, there are some great DVD extras out there. Ladies vs Butlers is my definitive example. My dick fucking lost it.
Sekirei and DxD are good
Hoping for a true to the manga adaption of Rosario vampire once it finishes
DxD will be god tier if they adapt all the material they have at the same quality. It's the studios biggest money maker so I don't see why not
Zero no Tsukaima is baffling to me. If it weren't for the all the fanservice, you'd think the target audience was preschoolers. The story and format of the show are otherwise age appropriate for five-year-olds.
As for positive examples, I remember watching Green Green and liking back in the early 2000s. The plot is fairly cliche, but the execution was decent enough. Most ecchi is so agonizingly stupid that I can't make it through the first episode.
There's gratuitously shallow
Then there's offensively shallow
GG falls beyond that. After a certain point you go "Gee, I wish I was rather watching porn so I don't have to take any of this remotely seriously"
Well, you certainly nailed how I feel about ecchi anime in general. But I can't really reconcile my memory of the show with your claims. Puddles have nothing on the shallowness most of the ecchi I've seen, so I have a hard time buying that Green Green is a standout in that regard.
this topic is interesting to me.
First to answer the OP:
Seikon no Qwaser, Manyuu Hiken & Kagaku na Yatsura (OVA)
As I see it, ecchi needs to be very plentiful or you might as well leave it out. Either I want to Watch something so hot that I can fap to it, or I want to Watch something serious. Its my opinion that you cant combine the two. When I fap I care not for story good sir!
This is a problem for me because the quality of animation is often bad in hentai anime, while its often very good in ecchi anime. I long for a hentai with the the same quality as seen in the ecchi.
The animes I listed above actually sort of comes Close to this, because there is so much ecchi in them that they almost qualify as hentai. Especially Kagaku na Yatsura
PS Big boobs is my thing
People have different tastes. For some people simple concepts - for example, the protagonist being addicted to a girl's drool in Mysterious Girlfriend X - can be far more arousing than episodes chock full of panty shots.
Ecchi anime tend to fall into the latter category, likely because they can reach a large audience by following a proven formula. But while some people will really enjoy it, that kind of ecchi isn't for everyone.
For me it seems to be there can only be so much of plot AND ecchi in something for me to enjoy it. If it overloads in a combination of the two I just can't enjoy it.
Kagaku na Yatsura for instance, TONS of ecchi/almost hentai stuff with hardly any plot. Loved it.
Sekirei, Sora no Otoshimono, Senran Kagura and Highschool of the Dead have a lot less ecchi compared to Kagaku na Yatsura but a bit more plot, humor and such to balance that out. I like those equally as well.
But then Queen's Blade and Seikon no Qwaser... I can't watch them and enjoy them. The fact it's trying to have a fairly dramatic plot mixed in around all of this over the top sexuality... I find myself conflicted and end up frustrated. I dunno, maybe I'm just weird.
I'm surprised nobody said Freezing. Great eye candy (boobs in almost every frame) with a good story and likeable characters. I loved the first season, even though the ending was meh, there is a second one now. Great anime.
Another great one is Infinite Stratos, though it has a lot less eye candy.
I dunno, the convoluted story and rather crappy characters kinda put it all off for me. If I don't pay attention to the dialogue, then it's a bit more enjoyable just for eye candy, but that's me trying too hard.
Really? I really liked it. Maybe I just think I did from what I remember, it has been like 2 years since I watched it. Need to watch it again to see if I like it as much as I did the first time.
yeah I agree. Kagaku na Yatsura is the best thing ever. Sadly as far as I know there is only one episode.
If you compare my favorite hentai "Haha Musume Donburi Oppai Tokumori Bonyuu Shiru Dakude" & that Kagaku na Yatsura OVA, there is not much difference! And thats the way aha aha I like it!
My nigger. This. Except thanks for sharing the OVA - never heard of that. I've rewatched Seikon and Manyuu far too many times. Senran Kagura is meh, Eiken is meh, and HotD has it's moments... But those are my top 5.
Hm, nobody has mentioned Hagure Yuusha no Estetica.
Though its character-design seems a bit bland and it might get kinky from time to time, it has one major advantage over most ecchi anime. The protagonist isn't dense, nor is he a weakling either. He's a perverted badass, who immediately is one of the strongest characters of the show. And he knows it.
>>1658425 ppl who use big swords only do it cus they have small dicks
Well, nonetheless he's one of the better self-insertion characters I've seen for years.
Sadly, the show didn't sell well enough in Japan, so I guess we won't see a S2, which is a shame, because the first season is more or less mere exposition (I bought the localized version btw).
Oh and one more: I don't know why, but Kuttsukiboshi really got me. I don't know if it still classifies as ecchi or already moves in the hentai direction (though it contain's no graphical elements). It's worth checking out if you like yuri stuff.
I didn't think a single word of what the person used was "big". So from my perspective, you're insulting someone just because they don't express themselves the way you do.
Also, by looking at your small piece of text, I can clearly see your grammar could improve as it couldn't possibly get any worse. Well, that's not true. You did spell everything properly.
I feel that if you're going to make a self-insert, make it blatant enough to the point of parody and just run with it. Attempting to give the gary stu 'flaws' and make him 'realistic' often comes across as pretentious.
I guess I missed something about the thread so maybe that's why it wasn't mentioned. But I personally liked ToLOVERu alot. Its a pretty standard harem comedy, so it's plot is, albeit, lacking, but it does have good animation, and the characters are (almost) all pretty interesting.
I'd say "Kamen No Maid Guy".
i'm surprised, Golden Boy is my all-time favorite
the English dub is great
it's short so it doesn't drag
I dunno i'm just a big fan
> Sora no Otoshimono
> Kiss X Sis (story? is shit and humor cliché, but lewdness in full effect)
> Highschool DxD (funny and with a "decent" plot)
> Rosario + Vampire (funny, easy watching with some nice ecchi)
pic related; kiss x sis
Oh, this thread is still alive? Not bad.
Though I'm not that much of a fan when it comes to self insertion, one must admit that Harem/Ecchi Anime definetly serves this purpose. Therefore, I think, it's legit to compare anime of that genre in this category. Furthermore, at least to me most Ecchi/Harem protagonists are simply embarrassingly stupid, and I hate that.
To be honest, ToLoveRu is awful, though this is merely my opinion. It has barely any plot development. This is mostly strengthened by the fact, that the ending of the original anime resets the plot development to zero.
Forgot about KissXSis. In terms of entertainment, it's alright, but the when it comes to ecchi scenes, the OVA series is far superior.
Oh and Rosario to Vampire is... alright. But I definetly prefer the Manga over the Anime (actually I never saw the second season of the Anime because the first season discouraged me way too much.
But the Manga? oh boy, the Rosario to Manga is so much better. Just. Read it. Pic related, it's one page from the manga.
Oh and the Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai Blu-Rays have some nice Ecchi scenes.
>opinion that you cant combine the two.
Unless you're kojima. Kojma can Combine Tradegy and Camp, maybe he can combine Fappable and serious one day.
I actually read some H manga to end after fapping because I wanted to know where the story goes.
>Hoping for a true to the manga adaption of Rosario vampire once it finishes
and this scene right here sums up why I agree 100%
It's got awesome art, but it's gory, sad, and dark as all getup. Examples:
Episode 1: Naked chick mass murders innocent people
Episode 10 or so: Parapalegic little girl delimbs and tortures a woman.
Episode 12 or so: Child makes several children literally explode after they kill her puppy
A new Rosario/Vampire Anime that follows it down to the bone would be amazing, that said the intros to the current series are amazing and we'll have to see if it'll get topped by a new series
i'm still a huge fan of Aika (first series)
best animations/fight scenes
but i'm old school
Urusei Yatsura is a great classic.
More of a comedy than ecchi I think but given Lum's outfit and the occasional nudity I think it counts.
First three seasons of Queen's Blade were great. Rebellion was shit though.
That show is still fucking hot for something fifteen years old.
Labyrinth of Flames is another good one by the same studio.
It doesn't have the same staggering levels of pantsu as Aika but it's still good.
I'll admit I enjoyed the original seasons, but Rebellion was...eh.
I might get some shit for this, but I'll say in anyway.
In my honest opinion, Queen's Blade Season 2 was one of the best ecchi anime ever produced. Great visuals, copious amounts of fanservice, an epic OST, great characters, and even the plot was pretty damn good. Season 1 was definitely "meh". If you asked me, I'd say the quality difference between Queen's Blade Season 1 and Season 2 is akin to the difference between Fate/Stay Night and Fate/Zero. The 6 episode OVA series that came afterward are also pretty good, since it's just a continuation of the story. Queen's Blade Rebellion definitely blew, but I have high hopes that the next season will do exactly what the second season did and turn around into something epic again (if there will even be a sequel, because just about every one of Arms's 2013 anime fucking bombed). As for the BD specials for every season, just about every one of them sucked, you're not going to find anything as godly as the Ladies Versus Butlers specials.
Anyway, it's sad how overlooked that particular season is. The show itself is already pissed on by the majority of anime fans because "too much fanservice", and with the first season being so bad, people don't even make it to Season 2.
The first Vanquished Queens episode was definitely not as good as I thought it would be, they really reached out to all the torture porn lovers out there. The second episode is actually kinda good though, so watch it.
>tfw the only guy who translated the first two Vanquished Queens episodes probably won't translate the last one because he doesn't want to
Hmmm, I don't know. I mean obviously the reason why most people watched it was for the fanservice, but I kinda wish that they'd have uncensored the girls instead of "going safe" by showing the nurse uncensored. It's not often that a high production value ecchi show comes around looking phenomenal, so it sucks to see it get censored.
They're continuing season 2 of Highschool of the Dead in the manga! Going to be released this year.
Its like I said in an earlier post, the plot is lacking, its a harem comedy and doesn't do anything to try to hide it. Its not really meant to captivate the viewer with its compelling story. Its goal is to be lewd, and it does that pretty well.
My issue with Queen's Blade is that the characters are ALWAYS acting sexy; even when they are trying to be serious. Just made some of the scenes too goofy for me with the conflicting tone. I couldn't help but think of Crow from Mystery Science Theater 3000: "Oh quit pretending you have a plot! Don't cheapen yourself further!"
Like in Kagaku na Yatsura it just seemed that everyone knew they were in a really silly, over the top ecchi and acted accordingly.
I definitely agree with you on that, but with that said, I would gladly watch another season of Queen's Blade if it were made. With all of the ridiculous sexy moments aside, I like where they were going with the concept. Also despite the "plot", It had it's fair share of very likeable characters. And there was a certain something that keeps you watching until the end.
I too vote for Golden Boy. The dub was great, it was short and sweet, and funny as fuck. I'm biased though, my girlfriend in high school got the dvd from a friend one day and we would watch it all the time, laugh and then fuck like rabbits. Those were good days.
Damn it, I think I just convinced myself to buy it again.
I am certain this precedes shitstorm, but my favorite 3 series of all time are
Asobi ni iku yo
Ichiban Ushiro no daimaou
Dakara boku wa H ga dekinai
All of them had a great sense of humor - I think. For real, until I saw people bashing Asobi ni Iku yo hardcore for having a totally incomprehensible plot, I assumed it was obviously a postmodern work of genius. The lampshade is so integral to the plot in those 3 - it's so bad that it must be good.
Not that it really matters whether the writers knew they were geniuses. I found them all to be very entertaining deconstructions regardless of their intentions, and that's what counts.
Then there's to love ru. Take Asobi ni iku yo, subtract wit, charm, nipples, and plot, multiply by 3 seasons.
Show that aired last season. Full Japanese name is long and I don't remember it, you can find it by searching "My mental Choices are completely Ruining my chances at a high romcom" or something like that. It was funny, a bit silly, but funny.
I'm going to say it now
MEDAKA BOX THE ONLY ANIME WHICH FANSERVICES LIKE A BITCH HAS A SURPERB STORY LINE FULL OF ACTION AND SHIT THE FIRST EPISODES ARE BASICALLY FANSERVICE O' PLENTY WHICH LEADS UP TO THE MOVEMENT OF THE ACTUALLY STORY WHICH IS THEN STILL FANSERVICE O' PLENTY SERIOUSLY YOU CAN'T DO ANY BETTER THAN MEDAKA BOX
Pic related: it's Kurokami Medaka by the end of the season not spoiling anything
I only have two ecchi/hentai permanently downloaded on my computer. You just named both of them. You are a true gentleman.
Is there another anime that does this? I really like the concept and the chemistry references as well. I want to share this to my friends without, you know, the other interesting part.
Yes, I watch this for the plot.
I love Aika too. Delicious pantsu and the story / animation is still top notch.
Anyone who liked the Ladies x Butlers specials should check out the Kanokon specials. But don't bother with the show, the characters are violently unlikeable, the sexy moments are not worth it.
I don't think they do a complete collection. I know you can get it on Blu-Ray but that's it.
The thing about QB is that it can't do middle-ground.
Either make it fanservice, or have a serious-plot with the occasional awesome fight.
They went with both and at times it was silly. The first two seasons were still entertaining though.
Pirating shit isn't always optimal.
My HD is filled with porn and vidya at this point so I prefer to stream anime/movies/tv now. Maybe that's what his deal is too.
I always horded anime too I noticed, despite watching 90% of it only one time, besides my few favorites.
this is japanese animation as a whole though. i've never seen a google even "middle ground" series. the most you get is good fanservice with a very very mediocre but passable story or writing.
a bunch of people will disagree with me though, especially in a thread like this.
personally i just wish the japs would stop trying to shoehorn their attempts at "being deeper" into ecchi and hentai.
as long as a series is fine with just being mediocre on plot and doesn't go save-the-world type of bullshit though i guess that's okay. something like umisho. it knew it was dumb and got most of it's popularity from "those" types of scenes and was never really up it's ass about some high drama where the writers suddenly decide their characters need to be a pillar of hope and morals or a savior of mankind.
I beat off to the ending of the Queen's Blade: Utsukushiki Toushitachi OVA's so many times I thought i was gonna break my dick. QB has to be one of the most overproduced ecchi series of all time. You can really see how much money was sunk into it when you look at the art, animation, ost and stellar voice cast.
I didn't mind rebellion, but mostly because it was more boobs and some of the boobs got cute new outfits. But some of the character designs
Mirim
were shit. But hey, to each his own.
well fuck me guys i went and spoiled the whole thing for you my bad.
That brings up a question.
...How did they repair their armour between fights? Leina especially.
I am a big fan of ecchi and harem ecchi
though all of the ecchi anime I know of only show breasts and panties
so I guess I want hentai?
can you guys suggest any starter hentai that shows everything but is closer to the ecchi side than the rape side (i would honestly prefer all of the sex as lesbian if there is any at all, I am just kinda tired of not seeing anything)?
I also really dont like rape
Look no further.
Kagaku na Yatsura!
What are some anime that are just ecchi non-stop? Like constant, shameless fanservice, something that I could actually jack off to instead of getting teased here and there, but without being a straight up hentai? Comedy and action is fine as long as there's non-stop lewd.
I hated mirim so much, This isn't K-on goddamint.
Also rebellion was pretty annoying some times, some scenes looked like they were going to be great and with lost of sexual stuff, (dont know how to express it) but then plot something happens and back to pointless drama, they forgot people watch that for the ecchi not plot.
Well, I knew /h/ was fucked up but this shit just here must be stoped, that "fake redirections" are just a classic way to tell you to go back to where ever shithole you came from, said that go back to your fucking normalfags life on leddit.
The only stupid here are you subhuman scum, you and those sauce fags that are ruining /h/.
Queen's Blade at times was, in my opinion, everything that should be in a ecchi anime. Consistently good animation, combined with a good helping of nudity and fun sexy fights made it a enjoyable watch.
However, I still feel it ultimately feel victim to the same thing that many other anime of its kind do.
It wanted to be both a good ecchi show but also be a good drama/action story. And sadly you just can't really do both.
Because of that we as the audience continued to encounter situations where what should have just been a bit of sexy fun was dampened by sudden drama or the other way around. Mood whiplash was abound.
And because of that I feel it suffered.
Girls Bravo has both surprisingly good animation and a good story with both heartfelt drama and the periodic gut-punch of comedy. I went in expecting fanservice and was pleasantlyu surprised to actually find a really top-tier anime under the glaze of fanservice.
Monogatari has excellent fanservice, both visual and story-driven. You have to be willing to digest it's incredible dense amount of dialog though. Nisioisin writes very witty banter, but it results in characters who spend a lot of time monologuing or one-uping each other in a war of words, puns, and double-entendres.
Spice and Wolf is literally "naked flirty wolf-girl teaches you about the merchant economy of the early 1000's-1500's", so if that sounds good to you then go for it.
Some older titles like "Rune Soldier Louie" and "Those who hunt Elves" are high fantasy series from the turn of the millennium had a nice mixture of comedy, fanservice, and story. They're much lighter on the fanservice and more focused on the comedy though.
Golden Boy is another classic that generally bounces manically between gripping drama and irreverent comedy while occasionally diving head-first into heavily fetishistic fanservice.
The anime adaptation of Witchblade is rather famous for it's character designer being an artist who usually works in hentai and it shows, but at the same time the story doesn't slouch either. Be prepared for a lot of drama about the difficulty of being a single mother in a harsh world, but if you like milfs or that sort of "mama bear protecting her young" style of story then go for it.
Spice and Wolf has a grand total of three nude scenes, and they are non really sexual in any way. Holo is flat as a board and apparently has no nipples, and it's pretty much just incidental nudity. Nobody watches S&W for the nudity.
Everyone watches it because it's a fucking excellent show.
Girls Bravo is ecchi done right.
I agree with you. The first Queen's Blade was really great show to fap to. Just the right balance of "plot" and nudity. Too bad they really never did anything more with Cattleya past her first scenes.
Hentai is boring and often poorly drawn, ecchi is often not hot enough. Queen's Blade is just the right balance.
I wonder what could be if the artists got more money and wouldn't have to face any pressure from censorship.
do you know where the fuck are you filthy cassual? You're on fucking 4chan where people is serious when talking like that, also
Being an underage faggot is AGAINST THE RULES, so gget the fuck out of here shitty namefag.
This thread is dead, but I'll post my 2c anyways.
First off, golden boy did not get nearly enough mention. It may not have as much oppai jiggling and pantsu shots as modern prototypical /e/ shows, but its one of the most hilarious things ever to have been animated. To me its a clear cut above everything else.
Also no mentions of Ichiban Ushiro No Dai Mao? (the retard who mentioned it along with Asobi No Iku Yo doesn't count)
Yea, the ending was a trainwreck, but if you can overlook that then it was a pretty much the best you can get from a /e/ show. If the second half of the season was the same as the first, my dick would not be alive right now. Badass MC, mostly good girls (blue, purple, and green manage to drown out the boner killing, vomit inducing trash that is red), good plot for the first half of the show.
I really got the feeling that the setting mattered for this show. Most /e/ shows you can take the cast and transplant them anywhere and it would be more or less the same. In Dai Mao the setting and the world were pretty well fleshed out and interesting in and of themselves.
Ladies vs Butlers gets some well deserved mentions, but perhaps too many. I don't think there is much to set it apart from other good /e/ shows like MM or Princess Lover, or Omamori Himari, all of which have a similar art style and vibe, but none of which got mentioned.
Anyways. I've watched almost everything I could find on anidb and bakabt and nyaa with an ecchi or harem tag. I don't think my autism would let me sift through all of that and come up with a proper top 3/5. Instead I'll do the only /e/ shows I've ever dropped.
Will be in next post, comment too long.
Asobi No Iku Yo
Gutter trash tier. the animation is nice and I wish I could have forced myself to sit through the nauseating cesspool of shit that stood in for plot, but I couldn't
Didn't make it past the first episode teir. You ever get the feeling that the director just doesn't give a shit? I got that vibe pretty strongly from these shows. It felt like the dirrector would just slop some shit together, put on a smile, and collect his paycheck.
Too long. There's only so many things a beta on an island full of women can do.
Got a couple episodes into this when I ran out of ecchi shows on this side of the millennium. It might be good, I just didn't have the patience.
I have to agree with you, who's your favorite character?
Despite some areas where it could really use some improvement, DxD would probably still be my favourite.
I really like Hyakka Ryouran
>best artwork I've ever seen in anime
pic related: I love gisen
I really liked Kenkou Zenrakei Suieibu Umishou.
Didn't immediately close it once I finished my business.
Hey, /e/ i'm very new to ecchi and would like some help finding a good show for a beginner. The only ones I've watched are highschool DxD and Highschool of the dead.
I'm currently watching the first episode of Seikon no Qwaser due to reading most of the thread but could anyone give me a show similar to highschool DxD? I loved it.
I've seen DxD new and am currently reading the LN too.And for everything else no I haven't seen any of those listed shows.
As for Seikon no Qwaser the first 4 episodes don't really peak my interest, don't think i'll finish it to be honest.
TLR manga is good, anime is ok
if you are a hardcore fan then the anime is watchable
if you want a decent ecchi to love ru darkness is amazing. ALso highschool dxd is good.
It could be Queen's Blade if it weren't for the fact that the drawing quality rapidly declines after the first episode of each season.
Also their character Melona is meant to be a goo girl that rarely does anything relating to the fetish. There's already so few goo-girls in well animated anime so the expectation on QB is a lot higher to do more stuff with her.
If there was anything like the KissxSis OVA that featured accidental penetration, my dick would've shot off like a force of a 1000 quasars. I love being teased but just going over the edge makes me Carl Sagan happy.
Aika is god tier.
Something about henchgirls getting their ass kicked is just the tops.
Was wondering if anyone knows the name of a series/ clip floating around, the guy character gets turned into a girl by another girl by magic, he then wanders about and gets into the bathroom where all the others are, then they all engage in boob fights against each other until he gets caught out and the house gets blown apart, he gets turned back when one of the other girls pitys him. if anyone knows that'd be great.
there are a few good ecchi animes but i barely know the names of them, Girls Bravo is good
Ichiban Ushiro no Daimao is only mentioned twice in this thread
I didn't even watch it for the ecchi
Is Asobi ni Iku yo! worth watching. I've heard...mixed things about it. However, I enjoy the character designs, the ecchi clips I've seen were pretty fap-worthy, and they seem to throw around a lot of sci-fi references which I also enjoy. Is the series worth it?
What I liked about freezing is that without the panty shots and boobs, the series would be almost exactly the same. Its a good action anime.
I didnt like the second season though. They reduced the panty shots and fighting and focused too much on the story. And the plot for it was horrible overall.
The first season is great because it was simple. No "deep" story. Just characters rivaling each other.
Kanokon is my favorite ecchi. Chizuru's onscreen orgasm in episode 3 was EPIC.
