Any othere tradesman on here? My go to hammer is the Hart 25 oz framing hammer. What do you guys use and why?
>>
Leather laminate handle or bust
>>
Dude its a piece of hard material used to hit things. How much money do you really need to spend on one and what the fuck is there to discuss?
>THIS ONE HITS SHIT BETTER THAN THAT ONE
>NO FUCK YOU THIS ONE DOES
>>
>>938775
>I have never actually used a hammer before
Shame that /diy/ is filling with this type of shallow shitposting.

22oz Maydole straight claw. Hits well and, though I have to be mindful of the wood handle, I find the beefy claw pries and separates better than other straight claws I've used. I also like the notion that a perfectly acceptable tool is still being used 90 years later.
>>
>>938775
Agreed, if you're doing weekend projects. If you're on a jobsite using your hammer all day, every day, the little things make a big difference.
>>
>>938775
You have clearly never tried to hit something with the wrong type of hard thing for an extended period of time.
>>
>>938775
Listen smartass, go to harbor, buy the 3 dollar hammer, pound a 1000 nails, then go and buy a quality hammer and do the same. It will be much more pleasant with the quality one

Jesus do I love this hammer.
>>
>>938823
I have the standard claw antivibe and the 3lb antivibe we they're great.

Really are the sort of hammers that will be with you a lifetime or until some prick steals them.
>>
>>938823
Big clumsy thing that, don't like it at all, makes a pinging noise with every strike

>>938710
I've used this hammer and its p good, heavy though, and i have little girly wrists. I like my estwing 20oz it's pretty cheap, hits nicely, and to be honest if I've got thousands of nails to nail I'll just use a nailgum

Joke aside, I use these for electronics and machine repair. I feel they're just more precise and lighter while still packing some punch for what I do.

not sure about $300, but this is the most expensive one i know of.
>>
>>939014
I might be wrong about the price, but it's up there in the hundreds, and they're fairly traditional hammers, just really damn expensive...hrm, off to google I go.

Still can't find that damn company I'm thinking of (want to say the company's name was German/central European), but I came across this site that has some neat looking hammers on it.

Tapping bricks into mortar vs. trying to a drive a framing nail. What's not to understand.?

Why do some hammers have a meat tenderizer texture/pyramid texture on the strike face? Is for specific nail or does it just make it harder to miss and slip off the nail head?
>>
>>938710
>made in Vietnam

The commies really did win.
>>
>>939263
it just keeps it from slipping off the nail head like you said. i dont notice much of a difference personally
>>
>>939292
thanks for the info, that was what i guessed. Odd though, i feel like it would fuck up very thin nail/small nails

It's usually only on framing hammers, which the nail heads used in framing are ample sized and the nasty marks it leaves don't matter.
>>
>>939298
It would, that's why you only frame with it.
Small stuff you use a lighter, smooth faced finish hammer.
>>
>>939199
>what tool this is ?
You could be a little more specific with your inquiry.
Take your pick.
drill,
hole-saw,
deburring tool (made by many brands) manual blind rivet puller/pop-rivet tool.
-Thanks a lot for making me watch this fucking how to install a fucking vent screen on a fucking skeedoo video.

>>

same here, 22oz but filed down the waffle head so i can use it for finish work too. Been using it 15 years.
>>
>>939325
maybe where the video started playing at?
>>
>>939415

on 4chan the "?t=406" part of the link doesn't work mate
>>
>>939415
>"?t=406"
That's a hole saw. Looks like about 1-1/4" give or take. Apparently that doesn't matter since he didn't say. If it's plastic you'll want to keep the speed down so you don't melt it and if fiberglass you'll also want carbide tipped. something a long the line of pic related, this one drills it's own pilot hole.

What is the purpose of the vent (isn't it open just behind this thing anyways?) besides paying for this guys sooperdooper mod vent screen kit?
