Okay, the goal is to use this auto led bar for an aquarium moon light (preferably with a dimmer).
I did some calculations but I likely fucked up somewhere. The bar needs 12V DC and a maximum of 1A. I'm in America, so the outlet I'll be using is 120V AC.

getting the psu from amazon will be much easier than building one from scratch (also probably safer, if you don't cheap out)
I'm just trying to go the cheap route since I work in an auto parts store and can get stuff cheaply there. If I were to just buy stuff, I'd go ahead and buy an actual moonlight fixture

Everyone here has a stockpile of old DC adapters, right? Find one that's 12VDC output and <= 1A
