Are these shoes good for carpentry work?

Steel toe? Sure.

They got a nice enough heel.

They wil be annoying to put on or off because they don't have the quick hooks, just eyelets.

Are you hiking in them or working in them?

If you use your toes for woodworking, then no. If you will be doing primarily scroll sawing and inlay, wear corduroy slippers. If you'll be building houses, they will get scuffed.

Also good if your name happens to be Bobby and you have the tool.

I wear tennis shoe with insoles. I don't make anything gigantic enough to crush my toes. The biggest hazard I face is pain from standing too long.
