How come there aren't any "quality" third person/first person /d/ games?

Unity is pretty much piss easy to learn (or UE if you're a masochist). You can reuse assets from other games since the SFM community is full of /d/eviants.

Why don't we have a proper /d/ game where you play as Nier Automata's 2B, going around fucking everything, or playing as 9S getting pillaged by stronger androids who've been infected and grown dicks?

A text-game requires just a coder. A writer would be good, but most people can do some kind of writing.

A simple 2d-game requires mostly just an artist. A coder would be good, but so long as it's simple, a dev can just use game maker or something to make up for lack of coding experience.

A 3d-game will require a decent coder, a good artist and an animator to top it off. It's very rare that you'll have all three in a single person, and groups for h-games don't really work out too well.

But hey, you could become the next HW, get $100k a month and use it to pay for animators, coders, writers and artists and make something "decent"!

Unity itself may be free for free projects, but you're not going to get quality assets for free, and there's no way in hell it'll include the kind of animations a 3d /d/ game would require. A random artist with no coding experience will not just be able to make a full game through looking at tutorials, and you get pure creepy valley when a pure coder tries to animate 3d assets.

Even if they were compatible though, you'd need to plug a keyboard into your Android device in order to play them.

I haven't used Tcl. Generally, though, the algorithms are all the game, just implemented in different languages. For pathfinding on a grid, you'd use something like A*, and there's other algorithms for finding paths between arbitrary points in a world (nav-trees etc).

I mentioned before I was thinking of splitting the update in half when I finished just one area, and initially decided against it, but that is looking to be the case.

When I started I had these plans for the game, a huge "scope" really. An amateur mistake, even though I thought I was being realistic. I realized today I need step back and try to look at the full picture. Last month I started looking into an alternative to the Tile Maps for numerous reasons. One alternative was a 3D over-world with sprites and a moveable camera similar to Don't Starve. Another thought would be low poly models, similar to StarCraft.

Now I'm thinking of ways to remove the traveling/walking all together. I'm not sure if I'm going to go with a (very CoC like) "explore desert", and have event systems like combat. Honestly I really feel like I have all these art assets, 20 sprites from different artist, almost 40 sex animations, a character create system, a party based combat system, and --no game.

The sunk cost fallacy will prevent abandonment, but I have no clue what I'm going to do at the mo.

Maybe you should think about the games yours is often compared to, or considered inspired by. You know, the ones with the never-changing war.

F1/2 have a world map, but it's only really there to give relative distances/travel times between locations. There may be differences in exploring various terrains, but until the PC/party hit an actual location, there is no combat and no need to render/load the PC/party. The problem with this method is that it requires you to KNOW your world map, and figuring the whole thing out early in development may not be the best use of your time/effort.

The CoC system is great because it is easier for you to implement and for the user to understand, but it lacks immersion. Compare F1/2 to the mobile trash F Shelter, which does away with the map altogether. Where the wasteland itself isn't presented in the game, it might as well not exist. Personally, I would suggest a compromise - shelters/hubs/staging areas where the player can adjust party setup, obtain/distribute supplies, and then head out to explore various terrains/directions. Party setup screen would have a background of shelter's terrain (desert, hill, cave, urban, etc), with an option to interact with the shelter (resupply, rest) or explore.

EX
This shelter is: a crevasse shielded from the elements by surrounding rocks.
The supplies are: whatever the previous visitors (and/or PC) leave behind, + maybe a clean water source.
The surrounding explorable terrains are: desert, hills, mountains (each of them containing various encounter maps).
List of previously encountered shelters: (A, B, C, with time/resource/danger travel advisories).
Rumors about nearby shelters: go in X direction for Y time, you'll find Z shelter.
Rest here: quality of rest (squatting vs getting a bed in town, HP restored and/or resources drained/time unit) for X time units

Tbh I don't even know, all the codes I found for A* were either unnecessarily complex or the guy making them loved to unnecessarily "optimize" the code by making a ton of local variables called var l = something;

What mine does:

Is the RPG maker combat system on default? That's my biggest complaint for nearly every rpg maker game. At least scale down the combat so I don't have to spend 10 turns hitting attack vs trash mobs, holy shit. Fights should end within several turns unless it's a boss or something.

If someone builds a game in RPG maker from the ground up then the only reason combat is in the game is because they put it there with things to fight.

What I find with the combat is not that it takes several turns but that there is so much fighting and especialy when you have to try and cant have everyone just attack and mash enter to win. Magical camp is generous enough to have mobs that walk in a patern that can be avoided and is fun in a way too but allows you to turn enemies off an on (besides bosses) with a big switch on the wall you can go to anytime outside a dungeon.

Literaly the only downside for me about the Magical Camp combat is that its not lewd in any way.

I can't remember the name of some short rpgmaker game I played off of tfgamessite recently (I think it started with an A) but whoever made it tweaked the fights so that they usually ended in 2-3 turns regardless of whether you won or lost.

From what happened after testing the lymphilaria from a previous save, I predict some sort of overflow bug is happening.
Moments after hitting hyperBBW status, I completely deflated into the most anorexic chara model I ever saw, coupled with inexistant stats (not 0, just "-") for HP, SP, lust, fatigue and hunger. Body weight of 0, but still "extremely obese".
Retried on a brand new character, hit 0 weight as "blob-like" and all stats but AP, SP & fullness at "-".

Shit, turns out the zeroing bug isn't as fixed as I thought it was, it seems. Sorry about that.

Turns out its unrelated to the parasites, weight, or breast though, it's due to an error with Lust. Somehow lust is becoming "NaN" and since the breasts are supposed to "swell slightly with lust level" that NaN throws the breast into the void. Not sure about the rest of the body just yet, but obviously some NaNs are getting around and I really have no clue where they're coming from but I'll be on the hunt. But thanks a lot for the report.

Both FO1&2 have random encounters on the wasteland map, but all you get is a "travel interrupted" indicator before the encounter map loads. This cuts down on the level of detail the world map needs to display and lets the game be broken down into nearly independent subsystems. In a similar vein, the two original XCOMs have a separate world and battle map, with the battle system checking where on the world map the encounter is taking place and loading terrain of the appropriate type.

In order to properly mold a slave in FC, you need to make them fear you. That's just an unfortunate fact of the game's design - trust without devotion means rebellion, and raising devotion without fear is almost impossible (to my knowledge). Breaking a particularly rebellious slave means raising their fear until they're willing to comply, then raising devotion because they're too afraid to disobey, then raising trust (if you want). This means:

- No nice clothing; naked or by fetish (straps for masochists, etc)
- No nice footwear (flats). Disobedient slaves resist heels even when needing them to stand.
- No nice collars; tight steel or shock (overrides social flaw with Odd +devotion, which can be removed w/ PA for +devotion every other week).
- No surgeries unless necessary (fix tendons/eyes) or trained (penalty offset by bonus).
- No diet change unless aligned with flaw (anorexia/gluttony).
- CONFINEMENT. The slave will be terrified but more willing to obey. Slave's health will decrease, so invest in curatives or...
- PERSONAL ATTENTION. This removes independent thought INT penalty, lets you fix flaws (shock collar) or health.

With the shock collar trick, even -100 hateful amputee attempted escapees can be brought around eventually, but not all slaves need it.

While traps would be good, so long as it's not male mc harem kind of game I'll probably enjoy it. I'd worry more about the gameplay itself, most of these text-games look less like games and more like a CYOA book, which is not really fun...

Multipul ideas for Fantasy Adventure:
1. Starting in a village that has just been attacked by the new demon king's minions and you must fight mages and demons and monstergirls that want to doo all sorts of michivous magical corrupting and slimy things to you before you can stop their master who would try make you his human slave and serve him forever.

2. The Wickid Wizard's /d/ungeon is where you begin and must beat your way past summoned creatures that serve their perverse master, mind and body altering booby traps and the overbearing sense of being watched. The wizard, if he defeats you personally should you reach his sanctum, could turn you into his obediant and eager lab assistant, a guinie pig for his magics or as a womb for his experements to grow from.


Sci-fi idea is youre tasked with hunting down "Illegal Drug X" and fight through thugs with dangerous chemicals and technology (fun stuff, of course) for info and lead into a bar with dialogue choices or something with people inside and someone might try spike your drink with a lot of something if you do the wrong(?) thing and bring you to the woman incharge of the drug opperation. She would obviously want you to not be found so would give you a new face and a generous amount of re-education for your new position as one of her bars (occupation goes here).

Yes but otome games are just as bad. The blandest woman imaginable with a non existant personality is suddenly the centre of attraction for several guys who are themselves each a specific stereotype. Honestly an outcome where they all find other woman/ all find out they're gay is more believable.
And we get afflicted with games,books and movies like this because people like these self insert characters, and imagine that they are the mc instead of whatever empty void is on screen

I think you should decide realy early if you want to have partial transformation because then youre going to write for each for every other scene. A common complaint is that they usualy never get used or brought up during most scenes because, realy, it would actualy be an enormous amount of work.

So you should think if you want a fail and instant lose but not have them chained to the possibility of worrying about other transformations interfeering with it later so it's contained and writen for its value type of end scenes.

I think you shouldnt make a 100% similar to CoC and TiTs type of game because CoC took fucking years. Have stats and hp and items maybe for that difficult adventure feel but openworld sounds too heavy and broad for what is your first game.

Make it concise and manageable so you wont regret your shortsighted enthusiasm for something you cant do.
