So can anyone explain what the new krypton arc was all about?
>>93561917
The Bottle City of Kandor expanded back to full size. In the process the Kryptonians used their crystal tech to create a new planet around it. Ta-da, New Krypton was now orbiting in our solar system. Superman went "native" to figure out if they would be a danger. His aunt was the leader and they went and put Zod in charge of their military. (I think it was Zod?) Anyway. With Superman trying to size up Ne Krypton Cadmus was getting up to some old tricks. The Guardian was back in action in Metropolis. Mon-El was trying to fill his shoes. Kara was getting to know her parents again and decide how she felt about them trying to adhere to Kryptonian society in light of what she came to experience on Earth. And Chris Kent and another Kryptonian who was Kara's childhood friend had taken up the rolls of Nightwing and Flamebird, who were avatars of Kryptonian gods.
Four books a month. I really REALLY liked it. But sales weren't great. Probably because Supes himself seemed to be relegated to such a small position and Robinson's return to DC was marked by a few shaky awkward early arcs that hindered the reception of his Mon-El. So it got cut short and wrapped with with War of the Supermen.

Also, there was NO hint that he "lost touch" with Earth or anything. He was still married to Lois, etc etc. He was keeping an eye on New Krypton. Strazynski went melodramatic for reasons that escape every person who read New Krypton and we get this 12 issue mess.
>>93562034
That actually sounds pretty cool anyone got any links for it or is willing to storytime it later?
>>93562015
>>93562032
Jesus we Marvel civilians now
>>93562094
I don't have links or such but if you read anything at least read Last Son and Johns Brainiac first. Last Son is Johns doing a fresh take on Zod and introduced Chris. Brainiac is finding Kandor, and a lot of other stuff.
Really I loved the entirety of Superman from One Year Later until the New 52 wrecked it. Grounded was two thirds a stinker, but Roberson helped turn it around into something decent.
>>93561917
Kryptonians are saved from brainiacs cities, and zod and superman kind of help rule their world, but superman isn't an arbiter of sorts between the two worlds
>>93560954
I'm still pissed Gary frank got his art book cancelled his dc work is Fantastic
>>93562174
Woa he was going to do an artbook? What happened?
Did DC get territorial over their characters?
He's one of the best Superman guys they've had in.... well maybe ever.
>>93562081
G Willow Wilson.
Huh.
Huuuuh.
>>93561549
That's a pretty badass one liner.
>Straczynski made my favorite TV show Babylon 5
>Made some damned good comics in Rising Stars and Midnight Nations
>I love Superman
>Superman comics were on a tear after years of great quality
>This happened.
>THIS
What the hell happened man?
Is this suppose to be Dickbats in this?
>>93562230
Yeah we were supposed to get a graphics ink art book
http://www.dccomics.com/graphic-novels/graphic-ink-the-dc-comics-art-of-gary-frank
But for some reason it got canned

>"Sadly, DC have canned the Graphic Ink book but here's the wraparound Brad and I did. Hope you like it, twitter"
>>93562326
This is a shit cover
>>93562395
If the angle was a little better and the issue was actually good it could be an amazing and striking cover.
An abused child who loves Superman, meets him, Supes can't fix everything, he hates he can't, the kid gets a bad taste of reality, etc. There's a lot of drama to be mined there. But this issue just doesn't do it well.

>>93562209
Jesus why do the both have dead eyes the artist is shit
>>93561384
Godsdamnit
>>93562579
Biddy is the definition of FUCKED
>>93562381
This whole page is stupid but the last panel tops the cake with the dead eyed expressions
>>93562374
Damn, that looks awesome
>>93561020
Did everyone suddenly become Marvel civilians or something
>>93562598
Damn this page hits me like a brick wall.
The end.
Does anyone have the three doors down edit from Grounded?
>>93562579
its such a strong page, i really felt for it. bravo.
>>93562342
I'm really enjoying this so far. what's the problem?
Does anyone know what issue of what series it was where Superman interacted pretty heavily with Catwoman? I'm sure I remember someone posting a page with them a while ago.
>>93562928
what happened with the black woman>?
>>93563117
It's from superman/batman
Thanks for the storytime. The art was a little rough in places, but I really enjoyed the writing.
>>93562939
I got you senpai.
>>93563495
Thanks
>>93563478
You welcome anon.
Wait so why is this arc disliked?
>>93564419
I'm wondering that myself. Bad art is really the only thing I can think of, and even that isn't that bad for most of it.
>>93564498
>Bad art is really the only thing I can think of, and even that isn't that bad for most of it.
No Barrows art is fully good.
That last issue had a lesser artist but still.
>>93564419
By the looks of it it's just nitpicking desu
>muh four panels with "dead eyes"
>>93564419
Yeah I gotta say I always hear this trashed but now I'm starting to wonder why. Superman realizing he's starting to become out of touch and trying to reconnect with his humanity via small scale acts of kindness is good stuff.Wish the movies had done this instead of his death.
>>93560905
>G. Willow Wilson
No wonder this book is shit.
