They each have planets they govern and gems of all types under their command, likely birthed from their given planets.
White seems to be special as she has governance over Homeworld itself and seems to have the most planets under her control, but otherwise the Diamonds all rule together, but govern their own planets.

Think of it more as them all being mechanics with particular interests and specialisations than as 4 differing professions. Ultimately they exist to lead and control. Their preferences cannot affect that role. They are auxiliary to it.

Lapidot was a silly ship that started shortly after Peridot was introduced. Generally, Lapis was the silly one who goofed around and annoyed Peridot, who at the time was the more serious and level-headed of the fan-pairing.

Peridot and Lapis ended up on rather antagonistic terms, based on how Lapis was being treated in The Return and Jailbreak. Not sure, what happened to Lapidot fanart after that. I'm sure it was more about JasperxLapis and JasperxPeridot. I think people started drawing them as a sort of "HW trio"? Is this when "Momswap" got popular?

Anyway, some short clip of Peridot giving Lapis the present was shown on CN, despite the episodes not airing for months, so people got all excited for Lapidot again, and by the time Barn Mates hit, the fanart hit and all time high, I think.

At this time, imo, I started disliking Lapidot because it felt like a different dynamic than the relationship the fanart had depicted back when it still a crapshoot as to how they'd interact. I also started noticing a lot more shitty fanart, in terms of art quality, of this pairing, so I guess it was getting popular among many people.

S3 and S4 was a bit of a drag, and the high that people got from Peridot's spotlight of S2 had worn off, along with some general disappointment of Lapis's return and little development for her with the CG like they did for Peridot.

I believe the distaste for Zuke started when she created the Peridot5XG account, linking it back to her own account and basically pointing huge blinking arrow signs at her being the mastermind behind Peridot's "meme" status. This is, honestly the single largest factor for people directing their dissatisfaction with Peridot and Lapis's character development stagnating while the show shifted to other matters. People started pestering her with messages on Twitter and Tumblr, she responded by talking about what the characters meant to her personally, which bothered some people /sug/

There is little chance of that being the case. Narratively speaking they're setting this situation up carefully. Exploring the possibility of both how it happened and who is responsible. Also it was done with a sword. Which is both Pearl and Rose. They're introducing that Rose couldn't have been the one to initiate and they've shown that Pearl has imprinted onto Rose heavily and would 'do anything for her'.
Narratively speaking they're foreshadowing either a fake-out or a pay off. To just go it was someone else it doesn't matter is bad writting. We're either getting HEAVY story for pink pearl either via flash back or meeting her OR it's going to be a did she or did Rose between her and CG Pearl. Anything less is literally bad writing from a technical perspective.

I don't remember what episodes had already aired in the fall, probably Gem Harvest, but some time in the fall this guy who was stalking Zuke's secret blog shared some stuff and then others found her blog and started posting some interesting shit that she was talking about. Then some idiot compiled it into a messy picture and started spreading it because he wanted to feel notorious without thinking further ahead and realizing that keeping his fucking mouth shut would have been way more interesting for us in the long run.

then she deleted her blog, and later talked about her feelings for the show in a much more professional and level-headed manner in her main blog, and that's the end of that, I think.

Because the narrative is pushing towards that end and setting things up in that way. That's like asking why the bad guy and good guy will have a final showdown in the end rather than one of them dying from cancer leaving the other to win by proxy.
There's certain beats to a story. Build up, pay-off, fake out, resolution. The centre of Steven's story is coming to terms with his mother and what that means for his existence and purpose. The core of Rose's dynamic is the schism between affectionate nurturer and callous warlord. The key to that clash is her shattering of her own Diamond. The Story has now established that it could very have been someone else who did it. A pearl that specialises in swords.
If you can't see how that's required to be addressed in the story order to provide a satisfying structure then you're hopeless. I won't tell you to stop consuming media but to not EVER attempt to make or contribute to media.

Lapis alone could straight up murder all the Crystal Gems by herself, but when it cane to trying to beat back Jasper she decided to go the roundabout and completely unnecessary way of trying to maintain a fusion at the bottom of the ocean for eternity.

The entire plotline was really convoluted to start with and ultimately ended out stuffing Lapis in The Barn.

Both characters could have had potential, but they way they've been used has has so many fumbles and dropped balls that trying to make sense of them as individuals, let alone as a pair, hard to do from a writing standpoint.
