It's actually divided by the Mississippi line. Everything left of the river is Disney can use Marvel territory, and everything left is Universal.

Also, to get even more specific, characters who haven't been shown in the Universal parks are fair game, such as, you guessed it, the Guardians of the Galaxy. So, for example, if they made a Thunderbolts film, they and GOTG will be in the Disney parks, but not any Avengers, Spider-Man, X-Men or Fantastic Four, as those four groups are all used at Universal (the Hulk roller coaster, the Spider-Man ride, the FF Dr. Doom ride, and X-Men costumed people)

GOTG are not part of any deal due to how obscure they were prior to the movie, Universal has the theme park rights to Marvel's big characters east of the Mississippi and the weirdly the use of Marvel's logo in theme parks across the US. Disney's workaround for that is that they don't include the Marvel logo when addressing the Marvel characters they can use.

Also, since GOTG are one of the few Marvel properties Disney can use in both park resorts in the US, there have been rumors they might close down the Ellen's Energy Adventure show at Epcot for a Guardians ride.

I know Universal is expanding Marvel Super Hero Island with more Marvel rides, but Disney also can make Marvel rides?

Depends on the franchise and location. Disney is free to do as they wish on the west coast. East of the Mississippi is different. As long as Universal keeps and properly maintains the rides they already have, they have perpetual rights to Marvel in their parks (unless either Universal or Marvel decides to back out of the deal).

Honestly, the news of them adding more rides to Universal is a bit surprising. You'd think they'd try to avoid promoting rival properties.

Universal is also planning that Video Game based park that's going to to be on the land north of IOA so it makes sense to invest like crazy into stuff that will capture the audience like Marvel even if Disney owns the IP. I'd expect some refreshes or new rides in the next few years in Universal and IOA while the Game park is being built.

Super Nintendo World is going into California and Japan as the kids area replacement. Florida is getting a whole park based on video game properties and Park insiders have already said they have heard that Universal has deals with Blizzard, Ubisoft and Microsoft along with Nintendo for the Florida park. Considering the Aladdin theater is now the Frozen theater, I don't think that's gonna go away any time soon. But as it stands, the Hollywood area is in dire need of some love. Only two major attractions, and the rest is just shows/entertainment.

Re-theming A Bugs Land would probably be the better choice. Not sure what the choice opinion is on the place (though I've heard some interesting talk on 'It's Tough to be a Bug'), even if it is the resident kid section of DCA.

The land opens in 2 days. People seem to really like it.

Got to go during the AP previews. The mountains are cool. Flight of Passage puts Soarin' to fucking shame since the screen actually works well from all angles. The animatronic dude in your photo is weird but is a lot larger than you think. Nav'i River Journey is too short but it looks great and the animatronic is incredible and imposing. You turn the corner and it's kind of shocking how big it is.

The atmosphere is the most impressive part. They got speakers all over the place with some 'alien' sounds that actually sound pretty fucking good. Supposedly the sounds change at sunset as well. Plants look great, both real and fake. Pathways are a bit barren but it's not a huge area honestly.

The most shocking thing is that both of the rides have water fountains in the queue with spots to REFILL your water bottles. It's like they don't want you to spend $3 on a bottle of water!

Guardians is coming to Disney World in some way or another, but nobody's really sure yet.

The big thing is that Tower of Terror at Hollywood Studios is not being replaced. That was confirmed by many, many insiders and flat out by a higher up at Disney during the last D23.

The long-standing rumor has been that Ellen's Energy Adventure/Universe of Energy at Epcot would get replaced. According to some people that seem to know what they're talking about, it was originally going to close and be demolished all the way back in 2015 to make way for a reverse launch roller coaster. That never happened. Apparently there's a lot of debate over it.

What's interesting is that there was a permit filed about 10 days ago to remove and create some retention ponds and canals between Ellen's/Universe of Energy/Wonders of Life and the parking lot. They're installing ponds, so it won't be a parking lot expansion. The permit directly references the space that Ellen's takes up.

Other rumors are that it may come to Hollywood Studios elsewhere. They have space to expand, Star Tours will go away a year or two after Episode 9, there's talks of re-theming the Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, and Indiana Jones/Beauty and the Beast is ripe for replacing considering the age. The park is going through some crazy changes with Star Wars Land, Toy Story Land, and the rumored closure of The Great Movie Ride later this year. Only gonna have like 4 rides and 3 shows.

It isn't coming to Magic Kingdom or Animal Kingdom of course. Animal Kingdom will apparently be expanded drastically in the next 10 years if Avatar opens well.

tl;dr: Guardians might move into Epcot, replacing Ellen's Energy Adventure/Universe of Energy, or into Hollywood Studios as a new ride or an overlay. It isn't moving into Tower of Terror.

Another issue is that it would fuck up the theming of World Showcase at Epcot. The back of ToT was designed to fit into the Morocco pavilion so you don't notice it unless you're looking for it. A giant grey space base would kind of ruin that. Morocco is also the only pavilion to get help from the actual government of the country, so they probably wouldn't be thrilled.

But then again Test Track/World of Motion has always existed and has always look horrible from China so maybe not. The Swan & Dolphin also exists.

They ain't gonna get rid of GMR. Turner Classic Movies just became the new sponsor and they finally got rid of the eyesore that was the Sorcerer's Apprentice hat blocking the view. The only real reason they would have to tear it down would be if the people who own the real Chinese Theater told Disney they don't want to be associated with the park anymore.

A history of Mickey Mouse pretty much. From Steamboat Willie to whatever Disney Channel is doing with him nowadays. The theming would be excellent but a lot of people have issue with the fact it would:

1) Be entirely about Mickey Mouse and a bit of the Fab 5

2) Cause the ride to go down for months and months in a time where Hollywood Studios is already thin on stuff to do.

A ride about all Disney movies could be cool. Start at the shorts and end at Moana, stopping for scenes from Mary Poppins or Beauty and the Beast or whatever.
