First time read through of a comic I just found out about a few minutes ago. Let's see if it's actually any good.
>>92512496
Kinda neat, this entire book was done on a Mac.
>>92512592
I honestly like these colours a lot.
Bump. Thanks for sharing this, OP.
>>92512657
>>92512627
Seemed to be some interest in it in that other thread and I wanted to see what it was all about. Thanks for the bump.
When they say computerized, they mean that this was digitally drawn, right?
>>92512769
>>92512766
According to that intro page, it was entirely drawn and lettered on a Mac.
>>92513121
This is it for the first issue.
Up next, first issue of the ongoing.
>>92512688
I was surprised at all the (you)s I got off it.
>>92513369
>>92513353
I admit that was part of the reason why I wanted to read it. That, and I'd never heard of it before. Thanks, it's pretty novel, if nothing else.
>>92513841
The corridor in the previous page reminds me of those base stages from Contra.
>>92512425
BORP!
>>92513295
thicc
>>92512285
Oh cool, I have this book. Picked it up at my favorite used book shop. They get a lot of graphic novels coming in there.
I was always curious that it was "drawn" on an old Apple computer from the 80's. Has it ever been reprinted? Is it even possible or are the files so corrupted on floppy discs that it's impossible.
>>92514372
>>92514329
>Has it ever been reprinted?
I seriously wouldn't know. I've never even heard of it before today.
>>92514636
POW POW POW POW POW
Appreciate it.
>>92515066
>>92515001
Thanks for the bump.
>>92515589
I really miss the good ol' days when you could do a storytime with a 30 second cool down.
>>92512285
Thanks OP, looking forward to this.
>>92515929
>>92515911
It's been pretty okay so far, gotta admit.
>>92516393
That's it for the first arc of SHATTER.
>>92516424
Thinking about skipping over the letters pages.
noice.
The art is good, albeit strange given the artist's method.
>>92512285
Bump
>>92517309
>>92517295
Yeah, I'm digging the art, especially the colours. There's been a few off things, mostly Shatter's stubble in the more recent issues, but overall I'm not regretting this.
>>92517400
>issues
*pages.
>>92517916
Alright, so I have to head out for a bit, get some shit done. If I get back early enough and this thread's still up, I might finish tonight. If not, I'll do a part two this weekend.
Thanks, all.
>>92517957
Thank you. This was fascinating.
>>92517957
bumping for OP to finish
bump, this reminds me of the graphics in old 80s games
>>92515620
Dude you're just lucky you're not getting your thread deleted. A couple weeks ago I was trying to Storytime all of black science but when I tried to Storytime Volume three I got the thread deleted on me three times before I finished posting the first issue. I gave up all together after I got a 2 day ban from posting after trying a fourth time.
>>92517957
I'm back, but I probably don't have enough time to do the rest of the issues. I'll dump the next issue to finish up this story arc and then finish up the rest of it this weekend.
Thanks for reading.
>>92521628
That fucking sucks, bro.
>>92521942
Yeah it does man and it's not like they were getting deleted because no one was reading along. The first two threads had around 30 people discussing it. Apparently I'm not the only person on this board to have this problem when trying to Storytime non big 2 so good luck.
>>92522220
>>92522199
I feel for you. I like to throw in a few courtesy bumps in any storytime I'm reading that doesn't have a lot of discussion, but for my own there have been times where I've just quit before finishing because I had no idea if anyone was actually reading or if I was just wasting my time before the inevitable premature slide off.
>>92522543
That's last page had a lot of exposition.
>>92522575
>that second panel on the previous page
welp.
>>92521628
Why in the fuck did that happen?
First Comics was the best publisher ever. Nearly everything they ever put out was worth reading and most of it was legitimately excellent or at least interesting.
The 1980s was easily the best decade for indie comics. It's a shame that most modern comics readers don't know anything about indies before Image came along or even think that Image was somehow doing something new.
>>92522635
Last page. We've hit the halfway point and so far it's been pretty damn interesting.
Thanks for reading along. For anyone interested, I plan to finish up the series with a part two tomorrow.
>>92522667
I'll be looking for more of their stuff now. I'm liking it so far, and indie comics from the 80s are generally pretty great, on average.
If you guys want to download this there's a link over here: >>92472872
>>92522639
Not that guy, but It sounds like there was some decent discussion in his first couple of threads, but when he tried to finish up the last volume he wasn't getting any bumps.
OP's can't bump their own threads, so the thread would have deleted itself from sliding off the board.
>>92522639
My ban was apparently for making threads that did not relate to comics or cartoons and my attempts at making a black science Volume three Storytime was the 'evidence' I was provided.
>>92522856
You can bump a thread if you wait 5 minutes between posts. Just a heads up for future reference.
>>92522907
That's the dumbest fucking thing I've seen on this board in a long time.
This... This actually really kinda cool...
>>92522856
No I had only posted maybe the first ten pages at most and was on one of the third page when it got deleted. The second timed I tried I had received a bump before get deleted which was the only reason I tried two more times.
>>92522907
I've seen threads deleted before about non-Big Two comics, though it's usually when it's about movie or TV versions. (meanwhile the board is dominated by DC/Marvel movie discussion and those threads stay up).
>>92522912
That's cool. Good to know.
>>92522907
Jesus fucking christ.
>>92523115
>meanwhile the board is dominated by DC/Marvel movie discussion and those threads stay up
I participate in them sometimes, not going to lie about it, but they really should all be moved to /tv/. They take up a lot of board space.
>>92523950
>They take up a lot of board space.
About 10%. It's not as bad as you're making it out to be.
And the reason why they aren't allowed on /tv/ is because superhero movies are by far the most popular genre of movies currently and if discussion of them was allowed on /tv/ it'd completely take over the board.
>>92514978
> suddenly entire new creative team
Wonder what was up with that
>>92522907
Jaysus.
>>92523115
But we need five threads dedicated to what people think of meras movie costume.
badda bing badda bump
>>92512285
Why does this look like it was put through a pixelation filter?
>>92527767
Try reading the comic. Like the inside cover explains this: >>92512335
I picked up the bound version back in 91 and I had no idea there's more to it
