I love the issue with the rock and the mountain stuff, I think it was #5 or #6.
Here we go
Hey man, thanks for storytime.
>>91901232
No problem anon
Is Ewing the only one actually trying at Marvel?
Christ
This is as far as I've read so I'm in new territory from here on out.
>>91901359
I guess. owens and Jeff Loveness
DAMN
Fuck yeah
>>91901767
Cute
This book is probably one of the only times I've ever liked Carol or Chavez.
Test. It's not letting me post for some reason
Is this saying the Marvel Universe has been rebooted eight times? This is getting really meta
>>91901828
Agree on Carol, I'm still waiting for someone to make me give a shit about Chavez
There we go. Couldn't post pics for some reason
>>91900887
This was pretty great
Ah crap a tie-in to an event I haven't read
>Ultimates, I've heard of that, maybe I should check it out
>page 2
Oh, this is the NEW Ultimates. Nevermind.
>>91902042
>not reading based as fuck comics
Your loss, anon
>>91899714
Hypercrisis thread? kek. Based Ewing playing with cosmic entities is the best thing to come out of Marvel since Vision.
>>91902143
This. I got sucked in andI read ahead of the thread. I'm in awe.
>>91901915
The rock keeps on a rollin
Ah shit
The fuck does any of this have to do with Civil War II?
>>91901431
Damn this art is amazing, thanks for the storytime senpai
>>91902326
You're welcome
>>91902313
absofuckinglutely nothing
I really hate those fucking "malicious code" and "embedded image" messages
But WHY is Human Torch in Medusa's speed dial and not Crystal's?
>An Inhuman that sees the future
>She-Hulk killed off panel
>Thanos puts a hole through Rhodey
Is the event as bad as these pages are making it seem because this all seems retarded
I think my dog might be high
>>91902600
Thanks
>>91902538
He was fucking Medusa at this time
>>91902578
The entire thing is awful. There is a parody going on over at illuminatingcomics.
All of the tie-in books played "make the plot almost make sense" with it. A-Force changed it so Thanos punched Shulk around a bit before she took a missile to the tit.
>>91902630
>He was fucking Medusa at this time
Wait what? What the fuck? Who the fuck goes "man, I really liked this girl. Better hook up with her mother"?
>All of the tie-in books played "make the plot almost make sense" with it.
So just like Civil War 1 then
>A-Force changed it so Thanos punched Shulk around a bit before she took a missile to the tit.
>she took a missile to the tit
She died from a missile to the boob? What the fuck?
>>91902578
even worse, this is Ewing fixing some of the fuck ups that Bendis did. In the latest issue it seems like he retconned another of Bendis's CWII things but making a big monster they fight at the beginning of the event tie into the Celestials and Asperants battle.
>>91902630
I would read the parody
>>91902724
I plan on going all the way until we're caught up so I'm sure that will make more sense to me later
>>91902698
She's not dead, she was just in a coma for a bit.
http://illuminatingcomics.tumblr.com/post/159822512625/posting-this-page-unedited-wouldve-been-funnier
Medusa is Crystal's sister, but that isn't much better
>>91902724
This is the start of "Civil War 2" or "Carol's War," as the author calls it:
http://illuminatingcomics.tumblr.com/post/120258618130
>>91902814
I could have sworn Crystal was her and Black Bolt's daughter. Who the fuck am I thinking of then?
>Raz Malhotra
Literally who?
>Hawkeye killing Bruce Banner for something that didn't happen
What the fuck?
>vision of the Hulk
I read the Frank Cho part of the new Hulk, wasn't it established that Banner was Gamma free?
>>91902578
The event is hilariously bad, if anything Ewing spend a considerable part of the second arc of ultimates building a better story from Bendis' spoils and fuckups.
>>91902872
I was thinking of Luna Maximoff for some odd fucking reason.
Whoa
>>91903004
>Ewing spends time cleaning messes
That doesn't sound too good
>>91903036
Yeah, I know. Rockafort outdid himself.
>>91902952
>>91902970
Yep. Banner is free of radiation, but Bendis might not have known that. Carol had a bunch of armed people surround him, and demand that he not Hulk out. Hawkeye was hiding in a tree, and claims that he saw Bruce's eyes turn green, so he shot a "hulk killing arrow" that Bruce gave him into Banner's head.
It is exactly as dumb as it sounds.
>>91902625
No problem.
>>91903060
>Bendis might not have known that
>We need someone to write an event that ties the whole universe together
>let's get the guy that retconned the entire Ultimate Universe into a single year
Genius. I assume Hawkeye is now a shit stain in everyone's eye and rotting in cell until he's needed for a top secret mission that will make everyone forget he killed an innocent man?
I'm sure this will end well for everyone
>>91903167
Remember, this is the Marvel Universe! The Citizens are awful. He was acquitted of all charges, and has been roaming the country in a book called "Occupy Avengers." No one hates him for killing the Hulk.
>covers with word balloons
I miss this
>>91903209
Of course, why fucking not
>>91903036
Damn what a great design for a comic travel, fucking nice
>>91903209
I do...but I also understand that he wasn't at fault for his actions. Some writer thought the whole event was a good idea, stupid Marvel Gods. Gorr was right and Bendis is unworthy
>>91903252
Have you seen some of the UltimatesSquared art? It works alright in some cases, but I find the regular humans terrible
>>91903310
Not yet, waiting to get to the next thread before I dive in
>>91902937
Literal who that was given Hank's stuff by Scott Lang, the guy was pretty much an IT guy that Egghead kidnapped to help program his robots. Not surprisingly his first foray as giantman nearly destroyed the golden gate bridge.
>>91903036
I was hoping this guy was gonna join up with the Ultimates.
>>91903396
O-okay. Why does he exist though? Why did Scott Lang give a nobody Hank's stuff?
>>91903425
Hank died and his corpse became Pymtron, Scott is kind of an idiot and unqualified to pick successors. Jan gave him a lot of shit for just FedEXing Hank's stuff to some nobody.
>>91903481
See, that sounds more reasonable.
>>91903204
That face is so goofy.
So how much of this books is going to be dealing with Civil War stuff? 'Cause I really couldn't be inclined to give a shit if that's going to be a reoccurring thing here.
>>91903527
The rest of it, except maybe the last issue. Civil War 2 killed it (only 2 more issues)
UltimatesSquared, the sequel, already has cancellation numbers, and is stuck tying into Secret Empire now.
>>91903527
Ultimates #1-12 dealt with very little despite being on most of the covers. No idea about Ultimates 2 though
>>91903553
Fucking christ Marvel
>>91903574
You see how Ewing is building up to some big cosmic event? That thing will probably be resolved in a normal book now, because Marvel has promised 18 months of no events following Secret Empire. Here are the sales numbers:
11/15 Ultimates #1 - 61,406
12/15 Ultimates #2 - 37,055 (-39.7%)
01/16 Ultimates #3 - 30,068 (-18.9%)

Marvel: Where Quality Goes To Die
>>91903474
Ungh, I love it.
>>91903660
I'm heading out now, but expect some art whiplash when you get to Ultimates^2. Some of the celestial things are good, but humans are terrible
>>91903779
Will do, thanks for reading
>>91903637
>>91903660
This spread is fucking terrific, It felt like a breath of fresh cosmic air after all the civil war II stuff.
>>91903481
Well, Scott needed someone to help him who WASN'T a villain. The guy proved himself pretty smart, smarter than Lang anyways, so he did is normal dumb move and mails away a supersuit...
The new gay Giant Mexi-Man seems like he could be cool.
>>91902042
I don't know what's sadder, that you've never read Millar's Ultimates or that you dropped this 2 pages in for what I'm sure are stupid reasons.
>>91902578
Even worse.
>>91903813
>The new gay Giant Mexi-Man
Jesus, double the minority
>>91903780
>Hold on let me use my light form
>AAAAAAAARRRRRRGH
>>91902698
>her mother
You mean her older sister.
>>91903633
I hope they give him some leeway, they do that sometimes if the story is good enough.or if it's good enough PR
>>91903859
kek
>>91903848
>>91903813
Pretty sure he's Indian, not gay.
>>91903779
yeah, but I encourage OP to try and overlook some of the the bad stuff in issues 1 and 2. The colouring seems to ruin some great ideas. But the human stay bad...however you have some epic entity designs to look forward too
>>91903912
Not Mexican, I mean. I doubt being gay and being indian are mutually exclusive.
I wish this comic had more consistent art, it's so good.
>>91903912
he could be indian, I don't remember, but he is gay. When he opened the box from Scott his boyfriend was there.
>>91903660
>So that's the Adam Warlock Tribunal right?
Yep.
>>91904011
Are you going to have enough images for the remaining issue? If not, I'd recommend going back and deleting the letters and recap pages while you can.
>>91904043
I will, just barely
Nice
>>91903813
He'll never be anything more than a cameo until they inevitably bring Hank back, the Ant-man book was really his shot to get some exposure but marvel cancelled that.
>>91904110
Fucking sick
>>91903912
He's definitely gay, I remember that when he got the suit he was with his boyfriend.
>The Treiskelion was destroyed
Good to see some things stay the same
>>91904065
>>91904043
Bless all the double-length pages
>>91904231
who drew this garbage
Hmmm I actually took a hard pass on this one but I like Ewing so might pick it up.
>>91904265
Literally why not do this instead of hitting her with a chair
Huh
>>91904305
Christian Ward, I think he's doing the Black Bolt book.
The regular artist for U^2 is Travel Foreman, who looks a bit better than this, but still terrible
Awesome
New thread coming up
>>91904353
Tensen is fucking great.
Ultimates 2
>>91904453
>>91903506
>>91903474
I fucking hate America, and these show exactly why. Not to be a power level fag, but I mean, come on. She takes down Carol and Monica in one go, and fights BM without him laying a finger on her, a guy who can fuck up King Hyperion, Anti-man, and the Sentry. She survives by herself in the neutral zone without any protection and beats down the existential threats that live there with ease, despite everyone else needing specially designed suits to protect them from ceasing to exist. Almost every single time she does something, someone else praises her, or gets beat down. Literally Poochie
>>91900453
Quality storytime OP
Thank you.
>>91904378
I love how Ewing writes Galactus. Pretty much every sentence he utters feels like something of genuinely epic proportions, he really nails the godly feel. In this particular scene, every word is a delight
>>91904408
>BRING ME FIVE NERDS WITH ATTITUDE
I love Rocaforts art here.
I wish DC would get him on Titans or Flash
>>91909726
He is doing at least one issue of Titans, but that will just make the regular art look worse
>>91904408
This was one of my favorite pages in all of the Ultimates stuff so far.
>>91909791
well yeah.
the idea is that the current regular artist on the Titans book gets the axe
bumperino
>>91903660
has the shaper of worlds been dead for a while now?
>>91900453
It's cool, but on the other hand I don't like that Ewing contradicted the idea that Galactus must feed in order for the universe to survive. Seems like a really shortsighted move. But then again, I do understand that new multiverse = new rules, so I guess it doesn't have to be like that.
>>91912155
Keep reading
bumpin
>>91902970
In Uncanny Avengers, the Hand was able to steal Banner's body and make a zombie Hulk, though that was another case of tie in writers making self-fulfilling prophecies even though that's explicitly not how Ulysses's power worked.
>>91903051
>>91903076
I really love this. It's something that couldn't be done without Ulysses and it's not some lame minority report reference.
>>91903952
I like that Ewing is pointing out just how incoherent Tony's side is in all this.
>>91904313
Sometimes being hotblooded is a bad thing
>>91901212
>Vote Loki
I'm not convinced it would make things worse.
>>91901281
>Everything lives.
I don't suppose that saying something like that in this place would have any consequences even if you are the cosmic Life Bringer right?
>>91915046
when it came down to final crunch, Loki admitted he had no policies, no plans, and no solutions. His whole campaign was just telling people he cared very much for their concerns and letting them assume he agreed with everything they agreed with
then it turned out the whole thing was a roundabout way of repaying the damages he owed to this has-been reporter for blowing up her house during a past life, since her big expose on what a fraud Loki was made her an award winning journalist.
Also he blackmailed the guy who did win the election into doing him an unspecified favor, since before Loki split the polls with his candidacy the guy was losing by a landslide
a fun book, but god the art was bad and the colorist made it worse. this page was put through filters to up the saturation by a good 70%. Everything was drab and grey before I did that. made the lineart look even worse than it was, which wasn't good to begin with
>>91899714
