Avatar land edition

Oh right that's going to be going on.
Is all the construction going to ruin the animal kingdom experience when I'm there.
>>
>>91322134
nope, it'll still be as shit as ever

>Avatar-land
Why does this exist? When it does open, I'm going to expect that a few cosplayers dressed as Na'vi will be arrested for indecent behavior/disorderly conduct.
>>
>>91322181
I don't think Disney allows cosplay.
They don't want you to mix up official character with randos.
>>
>>91322181
They're definitely gonna lose a shit ton of money from this.

People traveled from all over the country and probably the world JUST to go to the Harry Potter thing at Universal. Nobody is going to do the same for fucking Avatar.
>>
>>91322316
Should have added a Pokémon world instead
>>
>>91322186
I recall a specific rule that allows small/young children to wear princess dresses and the like
>>

Well yes, bibidi babidi boutique would be out of business otherwise.
>>
>>91322083
A bit late with this, aren't they?
>>
>>91322316
they only lose money if they spent more on it. and they are taking sweet time...
>>91322404
yes
>>
>>91322153
Animal kingdom is the best park there
>comfy atmosphere
>not a lot of people
>best shows
>best queues
>>
Will there be any actual fun rides like Universal Studio's Back to the Future ride or Epcot's O Canada! 360 experience?
>>
Remeber when we thought that when the mainstream public heard the word "Avatar" they would remenber first about this movie and not the cartoon?
>>
>>91322316
You're right that Avatar Land probably won't be its own draw, but they'll have Star Wars Land for that soon enough.
I could see Disney opting not to renew the Avatar license as soon as it expires and reskinning the land with an original theme that's better received
>>
>>91322404

Seriously, what's with the Sudden Avatar push? Like, the time to build a "Pandora" Park and make an Avatar Sequel was like in 2010. I honestly don't know if anyone gives a shit at this point, do they?
>>
>>91322418
what all shows are there, Lion king and Finding nemo...is that it? are you counting tough bug?
also, expedition Everest and Dinoland are both based as all fuck.
and they have the self-fellating bats
>>
>>91322404
It seems worse than they thought it would because Cameron was supposed to have released a sequel or two by now.
But because he's making them all simultaneously he's taking his sweet time

>>
>>91322479
Lion King and Finding nemo is all it needs lad, still has the best shows by those two alone
Finding nemo almost made me cry first time I watched it, it had no right to be that good

I also really like the zoo parts, the exploration trails, too comfy to put into words
>>
>>91322494

I'm reasonably certain Disney could if they wanted to. And besides, the point still is that Avatar drifted pretty damn far out of the pop culture mindset by this point, so I don't know why they're even bothering.

No one is going to go to Disney World to see "Avatar World" who wasn't gonna be going to Disney already.
>>
>>91322083
Avatar land was a mistake - Disney
>>
Does Disney world have Pokémon Go stops and gyms?
>>
>>91322512
>still has the best shows by those two alone
Finding Nemo is mediocre at best. Indiana Jones, Fantasia, and I'd say even beauty and the beast at MGM are all better.
>>
>>91322540
Someone's not going with the flow

I never cared for Fantasia, it's pretty bland when it comes to night shows, indiana jones and beaty and the beast you got me though

Also animal kingdom has rivers of light
>>
>>91322537

I'm sure; they're every where, and it's not like Niantic needs official approval to create them.

Disney could ask for them to be removed, of course, but that'd be a dumb as shit move.

Apparently Cameron's making 4 sequels at the same time to save money and keep the hype going.

Well, do the animals count as shows?
is the "safari" a ride?
anyway, I'd say MGM has best shows
that said, with Kali river rapids, Expedition Everest, Dinosaur, and Primeval Whirl Animal Kingdom may just have the best rides
>>
>>91322518
I think when Disney builds another park has a whole hell of a lot more to do with its own natural cycle of building parks rather than it just shitting another one out every time it gets its hands on a new IP. To say nothing of the cost benefit analysis, design, and general planning that goes into the initial stages of making a new park.

>>91322418

Animal Kingdom is actually immersive, unlike Epcot I argue. Epcot you can pretty much see every other country from the one you're in. Animal Kingdom, you enter the "Africa" zone and they went all out to make you feel like you're in Africa, its more like you actually stepped through a portal.

I like animal shows a lot more than animatronic trickery, since you can't fake the natural behavior of the animals and the unpredictability that brings. You an go on the Jungle Cruise at Magic Kingdom and see fake elephants doing the same thing over and over again, or see ACTUAL ELEPHANTS. Love the show that has the Macaws fly in overhead as a flock.

Also, Expedition Everest is strong contender for Best Ride.

All in all, it feels less 'artificial' than the other parks. They could take it a lot further if they wanted.

Main complaints:

1. They should do better w/animal exhibits. If you're Disney, you should do better than a somewhat glorified zoo.

2. Get something better in the Tree of Life. It is your Centerpiece, why is Bug's Life the attraction you put there?

3. Dinoland is ultimately underwhelming to me. It doesn't feel like I am in prehistoric earth.

4. There's a petting zoo but it is literally farm animals. Couldn't even pull a SINGLE exotic animal.

*****

Mind you, I could voice a lot of complaints about Epcot and Magic Kingdom too, though Epcot improved a lot last time I went.
>>
>>91323428
I'm convinced if you have to try this hard to figure out why people like what you don't your violently autistic

Are we ever going to get another Dark Ride?

Say what you want about Frozen (I hate it) but that ride is VERY impressive from a tech standpoint.
>>

We have more money than God and have to spend it on something - Also Disney
>>
>>91322653
>>91322633

I have to assert that it's a pretty shitty Disney Ride, but as a Carnival ride its fun to pack 4 drunk-ass adults in there and get slammed into each other and spun around for 2 minutes.
>>
>>91322660

That was a genius way to occupy people in line, I was saddened it had little effect on the ride itself.

Some changes to the ride's scenery was lame.
>>
>>91323599
don't you have to bring your own flask if you wanna get drunk in Animal kingdom?
>>
>>91322779

>Men in Black, shooting actual models is better than flat targets.

The models have flat targets on them. what's better is the guns that don't murder your thumb tendons.
>>
>>91323533
well there are all sorts of gay rules and retarded strategies you need when corporate is handling live animals.
what Disney really needs is to make a system to revive dead ones so they can REALLY do whatever they want
>>
So guys, any good mistakes you've caught at the parks recently?
>>

I got the "pleasure" to experience the Pirates of the Caribbean stop moving, but the music to continue playing for about 20 minutes. Finally, they showed us some mercy and turned off the music and animatronics. It makes you realize just how lifeless some of the places are when not in motion. Finally, we all had to leave our boats and exit through the backlot of the park, which is a Herculean task considering how we were with my grandparents who need wheelchairs to get around distances. Try getting them out of a boat without them falling!

Our consolation for this ordeal? Fastpasses we couldn't use because we had to leave the park for La Nouba. On the bright side, I did get to see the backlot with a lot of parade floats hanging around.
>>
>>91323557
What would you like to see in terms of an actual dark ride?
>>
>>91322518
Avatar is now at the point that the cohort who watched it when it came out when they were 13 and for whom it was really formative and impressive (think about the movies you watched at age 13; even the bad ones stand out as really interesting, right? >3. Dinoland is ultimately underwhelming to me. It doesn't feel like I am in prehistoric earth.

I think the idea of "Prehistory through the lens of Americana and our simultaneous reverence and irreverence for dinosaurs" is a sound idea for a land, but Dino-Rama screws it all up for being a totally incorrect approach to the idea of paying tribute to cheesy Roadside Dinosaur attractions. Like a family oriented dark ride with a Jungle Cruise tone featuring dinosaur figures in that wonky aesthetic of stuff like Prehistoric Gardens would be much stronger.

That or take the time travel idea further and do some Radiator Springs Racers type thing through badlands full of prehistoric animals that have escaped from Dino Institute pens.
>>
>>91323987
Going back to the start of things and revamping it into Beastly Kingdom would be perfect, since those things could be passed off as the result of magic or something. They could even change the flight simulator ride they're planning to let you fly dragons.
>>
>>91324118
>>91323987
The nice thing about Avatar being so derivative of other fantasy and sci-fi is that it'd be fairly easy to turn it into something new.

Beastly Kingdom through an Roger Dean album cover/Lisa Frank folder lens instead of classic storybook could be pretty interesting.

You could build the Dragon's Keep coaster in that last bit of expansion plot between Avatar and Africa, turn the banshees into something about riding Griffins and Pegasi, and reskin the boat ride into Fantasia.
>>
>>91323859
Wreck it Ralph, now that I think about it

King Candy bug would be the moneyshot animatronic
>>
>>91323677

They do some cool shit though, they have two separate walk-through aviaries with birds everywhere.

Obviously not an option with aggressive/predatory animals, but surely they have the tech to make it seem more open and 'dangerous.' Or would it be too real then?

The sheer variety of animals they have is impressive too. I bet they have some really cool behind the scenes tours for VIP and such.

Well it kinda changed things, now there's an option to pay "more" money at the theater.

To be fair, I saw Kong and Beauty and the Beast in 3D recently and they were pretty good, not really necessary but fun.
>>
>>91322594
At the time the deal was struck, Avatar 2 was scheduled for like 2013, with Avatar 3 in like late 2016. So according to the original plan there would have already been 2 sequels by the time it opened. It's not really Disney's fault that Cameron can't get his shit together.

I mean it's still their fault for making this deal but the fact that they're making an Avatar Land at a time when there's only one movie and the sequels are still years away is all on Cameron.

>>
>>91327299
That's what you get when you crib most of your story from better writers short fiction.
>>
>>91327400
Yeah, hence the name.

http://james-camerons-avatar.wikia.com/wiki/Unobtanium

>It is a room-temperature superconductor for energy, which makes it very valuable; it is worth $20 million per kilogram (2.2 lbs) unrefined (worth $40 million per kilogram refined) on Earth. However, as the Pandoran atmosphere is toxic to humans it is expensive to mine. For mining operations all human personnel are required to wear an exopack, which is very cumbersome. Humans transport unobtanium on trucks called Hell Trucks from the mining sites back to Hell's Gate for refining and eventual transport back to Earth.

>Unobtanium proved to be the most baffling of scientific discoveries in the area of superconductors as it had an extremely strong magnetic field, reversing prior knowledge that all superconductors repel magnetic fields. Furthermore, unlike the fragile crystals of human-created superconducting compounds, the substance found on Pandora was a stable quasi-crystal with its atoms arranged in a never-repeating but orderly pattern with fivefold symmetry. This matrix was not only structurally rugged but also has microscopic voids in the quasicrystalline structure that contain the magnetic flux lines (see Type II superconductor). Unobtanium has a unique magnetic field and properties of superconductivity, causing it to levitate in magnetic fields under the Meissner Effect.

>Without unobtanium, interstellar commerce on this scale would not be possible. Unobtanium is not only the key to Earth’s energy needs in the 22nd century, but it is the enabler of interstellar travel and the establishment of a truly spacefaring civilization. This makes a feedback loop; the more unobtanium is mined, the more ships can be built and the more mining equipment can be sent to Pandora.

But he's still planning six or seven of the damn Avatar films. Supposedly they'll start making the second one in the fall.

No one who cares about value for their money would buy VR right now. Unless they already have a high end PC.

People will find uses for it in a professional setting and as tech gets cheaper an unwieldy version will trickle down to consumers. That's how adoption of new tech works. If you think VR won't take off because of how clunky it is you should see how uncomfortable it was to operate a Model T.

I was so hyped for the Ratatouille ride and it's a terrible Spiderman clone where you're supposed to feel like you keep flying through the air whilst your car stays rooted to the spot and you're so far from the screen you can see the fucking floor.

The park had better get some exclusive rides soon. All it has for the next year or two is Hyperspace mountain and the Star Tours update the other parks got years ago.

>>
>>91328295
Should have been a new build over in Magic Kingdom or something.

Like if they weren't constrained to a ride that didn't have the capacity to meet demand or do something substantial, the Frozen ride could have been more then just an Elsa meet and greet on a boat.
>>
>>91328200

Hope they improve it. Needs at least one more scene and tweaking so that the illusion of running around and jumping about is more convincing.

Transformers the ride is proof that you can go flying around in that sort of ride well.

The rumours are also suggesting that the Spain Pavillion is finally being approved in order to get a Gigantic tie-in.

From the sounds of it, Gigantic is going to be the film Disney are hoping will be the next Frozen given the people they have on it.

Darren Brown's ghost train at Thorpe Park shows that hybrid VR experiences can work (apparently the new show is amazing) so I'm relatively hyped for the stormtrooper thing if they can get the throughput.
>>
>>91328501

I think it's a mistake making the 'princess' a child rather than a vague late teen. You'd have thought that they'd have realized after Brave and Frozen that little girls want to dress as a 'grown up' princess.

But then, if you make her older you run the risk of introducing a whole generation to a new fetish.
>>
>>91328589
Pfft, this one is going to be bad enough if they keep her looking close to the sketches.
>>
>>91322186

>>
>>91328739
I remember reading about that. It's why fans came up with that movement to dress resembling the characters without actually dressing as the characters.

I keep having to tell this to an acquaintance of mine who keeps trying to show up at the park in a home-made goofy costume or jedi robes.

Animal Kingdom gets really busy during the daytime... I still firmly stand by Epcot being the best park. Sure, the experience of visiting the countries isn't as immersive as Animal Kingdom is, but Epcot just feels like a better park overall.

Though personally my biggest issue with the Disney Parks are the wild bats at Magic Kingdom. Seriously those things could have rabies and it seems like they're going unchecked. I was there last year during the Pulse shooting and I remember seeing multiple live bats flying dangerously close to guests in Magic Kingdom... Why isn't Disney doing anything about this?

I was always really intrigued by the idea of Beastly Kingdom, and I wish they had gone through with it. I think it would have been cool. Maybe would have clashed too much with how "realistic" the rest of the park is, though we're getting Avatar Land anyway.
>The original design for Animal Kingdom included a themed section called the Beastly Kingdom (possibly spelled as "Beastly Kingdomme"), devoted to creatures of legend and mythology. Camp Minnie-Mickey was built instead of Beastly Kingdom and was meant to serve as a temporary placeholder until Beastly Kingdom could be built.
>Beastly Kingdom was to feature mythical animals such as unicorns, dragons, and sea monsters, featuring realms of both good and evil creatures:
>The evil side was to be dominated by Dragon Tower, a ruined castle home to a greedy fire-breathing dragon who hoarded a fabulous treasure in the tower chamber. The castle was also inhabited by bats who planned to rob the dragon of his riches. They were to enlist the guests' help in their scheme and whisk them off on a thrilling suspended roller coaster ride through the castle ruins. The climax of the ride was to be an encounter with the evil dragon himself, resulting in a nearly barbecued train of guests.
>The good side was to be home to Quest of the Unicorn, an adventure that would send guests through a maze of medieval mythological creatures to seek the hidden grotto where the unicorn lives. Finally, the Fantasia Gardens attraction was to be a musical boat ride through animal scenes from Disney's animated classic, Fantasia. The ride was to feature both the crocodiles and hippos from "Dance of the Hours" and the Pegasus, fauns, and centaurs from Beethoven's "Pastoral."

why are you so mentally inflexible?
For me, Disneyland's greatness is not just in its top-down design, but in the happy accidents of craft and enterprise that collectively brought it to its current state of being. Despite the overt synthetic quality of the "Disney Park" experience, Disneyland manages to feel nonetheless genuine. Los Angeles is a city of plastic people and plastic history; Disneyland is in many ways the least plastic part of the city. It has an emotional honesty, an aww shucks sense of intimacy, that is not replicated anywhere. Disneyland is kitsch, a fake, glossy pastiche of the past and of folk memory. Despite this, it manages its own kind of sincerity. It was truly built in a different time, and reflects both the inexperience and (importantly) lack of rote thinking in its construction. Every part of the park has been intricately and lovingly crafted, but WITHOUT extensive planning aforethought. You couldn't build Disneyland today; if you tried, you'd start by making sensible changes to make handicap accommodation less tedious. Then would come better crowd management solutions than the jury-rigged legacy of 50 years of trying and failing to control the mob. You'd probably add some underground tunnels, because they work so well at Disney World. In the end, you'd construct a more perfect, more unified experience, and be worse-off for it. Disneyland, in part, is the smell of rotting garbage as you pass the poorly disguised service door between Fantasyland and Frontierland. You can't remove that contrast and still have Disneyland.

The park is not unlike the Winchester Mystery House. It's ad-hoc. It's almost folk art. And like the Winchester Mystery House, I think its disorganization reflects a common west-coast neuroticism and sense of out-of-place-ness.

precisely. Los Angeles is in many ways a town of extreme glitz and glamor; Dubai West. Despite that, Disneyland presents an utterly approachable, slightly dingy face to its visitors. This isn't really what Disney wanted. As far as I can tell he wanted a perfect world, flawless in every description. I believe you when you say Disneyworld is Walt's Vision, because it is. Disneyland isn't perfect; it in fact abhors perfection. It's a mishmash of ideas and visions and realities. It's schizophrenic. In its schizophrenia it achieves a far more effective sense of otherworldliness and suspension of disbelief than Disneyworld could ever hope. Disneyland is like the mental fog when you're sick with a bad fever.

Wait, are they making a Star Wars dark ride attraction or is it all VRshit?
>>
>>91334679
There are two rides in Star Wars Land. A massive Dark Ride about escaping a First Order base/Star Destroyer and a Millennium Falcon ride that basically sounds like a simulator on a turntable track.

The idea behind the Falcon being that with the ride vehicles being done as the cockpit, these would rotate into place for guests to board after they walk through some of the ship's assorted corridors. Build the illusion that you are actually in command of the Falcon.

Marvel's the schrodinger's cat of theme park licenses.

Universal has it mostly iron tight with the characters people care about, but that isn't strictly the case with the MCU putting out more obscure shit like Guardians of the Galaxy and Ant Man, properties nobody thought about securing because they were literal who's at the time of purchase and so Disney is doing their damndest to capitalize on that, so a proper land is all but impossible for either park since neither side would be wiling to cooperate with the other.

Jurassic Park on the other hand would fit like a glove for a new section of the park, it's entire premise is based around theme parks. Not to mention the actual ride is really showing it's age and could use a major update

Disney can do whatever they want with Marvel stuff on the West Coast, it's why they have the Spider-Man meet and greet and shit like that.

Stuff like Guardians and Ant-Man would be fine for Florida since the deal only keeps them from using characters already in use at Islands of Adventure. There's a rumor they're gonna put a Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster where Universe of Energy is, since those characters aren't affected by the deal and are also popular as fuck with the kids.

The Jurassic Park area at Islands of Adventure is mad immersive, but there's like nothing to do there. The Visitor's Center is basically literally the thing from the movie and the River Adventure is cool, but there's so much more they could do with the license aside from a playground and kiddie coaster. If Jurassic Park was made as immersive as Harry Potter, I'd shit my pants in joy, that movie is the reason I got into studying film.

A lot of Renaissance Faires I go to do this thing where a whole story plays out every day, but in different parts. And the characters are roaming around the faire all day and interact with the guests, making them part of the plot. Like, last year, the story was about Vikings showing up, so me and my friends got asked by some maidens if we could deliver a love-letter to a visiting Viking Prince. We found him eating with his men and helped him write a love poem, which we delivered back to the handmaidens.

Something like that, but Star Wars, would be fucking dope. They already have those old-timey Hollywood people hanging around Studios, so they're clearly fine with improv characters. It'd be amazing for immersion.

>You get a note from a Rebel Spy, are told to deliver it to character X
>Stormtroopers and Bounty Hunters will hassle you if they see you carrying it, you can send them away with a Mind Trick
>If you deliver it to the Rebels, you get a medal
>You can also totally sell the Rebellion out to the Empire and get a commendation from Lord Vader
>Implements Magic Band tech everywhere, so if you were the Rebel Spy on Star Tours, you'll start appearing on wanted posters
>Cantina that sells Blue Milk
>Occasionally there'll be Han vs Greedo style shoot-outs in the restaurant
>Wandering background characters with animatronic alien heads
>Jawas running around stealing pins and Magic Band accessories from gift shops

The cool thing about Star Wars is there's so much established lore, so the immersion aspects of a theme park area based on it kinda write themselves. It's all a question of just how much work Disney wants to put into it.

I could just buy a scarf, tie, etc. from other places, but cheaper, right?

>>
>>91338783
Knockturn Alley is cool as fuck too and air conditioned

Diagon Alley in general is one of the best themed areas in a park ever, Star Wars sounds like it will rival it with stuff like the stormtrooper interaction

>Make a 19-year old's job more difficult by making her uncomfortable while in character
>Immediately get removed from the park when she/one of her handlers/one of the million security cameras/one of the million plainclothes cops catches what you're trying to pull and reports you to security
>Good idea

Imagine how many people they have to greet in an average day. Now imagine how many of those people wanna fuck a Princess. Now imagine how many of THOSE people actually try to fuck a Princess.
Now imagine that every day they go to work.

If you wanna hit on a character actor, either do it in a showy, fun way that makes you part of the bit (like when Gaston challenges dudes to feats of strength for their girlfriends) or just hit up a bar in Disney Springs and hope to get lucky.

Or join the College Program.

Butterbeer is delicious, get it frozen.

And yeah, stuff like Harry Potter scarves are pretty common at outside retailers. If I had to suggest getting anything, I'd say either get a wand (since there's a whole show they do in Ollivander's) or drop the money and get a set of robes (since that's considerably less common to get compared to stuff like scarves and neckties).

Kinda?
Like, you can buy replicas of the characters' wands, but they also have original designs. There's also two types, the ones that are just resin and the ones that light up. Obviously the latter is pricier, but they're both quite nice.

>>91339027
Animal Kingdom was originally gonna have another area called Beastly Kingdome. It's the reason there's a dragon on the logo for the park, basically it would have been a fantasy-themed area split into good and evil sections.

Good section would've had a maze with a unicorn in it and a Fantasia-themed boat ride, Evil section would've had a bigass castle containing a suspended rollercoaster where you help a bunch of bats steal treasure from an angry dragon.

Turns out animals are expensive, so that part was put on ice before the park opened. They were gonna implement it once they recouped the cost of building Animal Kingdom, but it got to the point that they just canned the entire idea. It was gonna go where Avatarland is going now.

Aren't most of the actors gay? And their lines are always almost entirely women.
>>
>>91339176
Eh, I'm warming up to the idea of Pandora, just because the tech they're implementing looks utterly fucking stunning.

Apparently the flying simulators aren't just moving rows of seats like with Soarin and Star Tours, rumor has it they actually put you on an animatronic banshee that blinks and breathes and shit. Like, you're sitting in a saddle.
>>
>>91339218
Basically, yeah. I have a friend who was part of the college program last year, apparently Boba Fett is dating Darth Maul.

>Tells me a story about Boba Fett
>Dude is apparently the nicest, sassiest gay man you've ever met
>One time he was marching with the Stormtroopers
>Kids are always trying to touch his gun or jetpack
>One kid actually reaches out and does that
>Guy does sassy gay head-cock
>Helmet is so bulky he appears to just turn in a really threatening manner and stare the kid down
>Afterwards said he had to stop himself from instinctively raising his finger and snapping

Fun Fact: The Stormtroopers have biometric sensors in their gloves and guns that play different voice lines out of the helmets depending on the gestures they make. For instance, if they point at the ground, they'll say something like "STAND HERE" or if they're waving people away it'll go "MOVE ALONG, MOVE ALONG".

It was gonna be called Tomorrowland 2055.
The basic jist is that the original Tomorrowland started looking mad dated in the 80's, since all of it still focused on space-race shit.

So the plan was to redesign it to look like it was from a point in the future where we've since made first contact and established a space port on Earth. The idea was that Earth was like the hot new place to come shill your alien tech, hence why there were attractions like Star Tours and Alien Encounter. It wasn't gonna be "dystopian" persay, but it was gonna be closer to "darkly humorous, cynical space society where money is everything" moreso than "wonderous vision of the future where you can GO SHOPPING ON MARS!"

They ended up scrapping most of it after Euro Disney did so poorly, which seems to be a theme with Disney parks.
>Have really cool new idea
>Spend fuckton of money on new theme park
>Start hemorrhaging money
>Scrap all the cool ideas, implement some in a really half-assed sort of way
>Scrap the half-assed parts within the next decade, never revisit said cool idea ever again
>>

>After getting spooked, you find out the alien is actually sentient and just wants to go home
>He lets you out of your restraints and you exit to the gift shop as you hear the scientists running the ride getting torn to shreds

Call it unfitting all you want, Alien Encounter was one of the coolest, most imaginative things to ever be featured at a Disney park. They should really nut up and bring it back in some way, even if it's like a standalone complex in Disney Springs or something.
>>
>>91341911

I met Adam The Woo and Justin Scarred once while riding Jungle Cruise for the twentieth time that night. They were streaming and I called them out while periscoping. I even got them to take a picture with me afterwards, I behaved like a complete autist but I think they didn't care. He has the same problem as all the other TGWTG Reviewers in that his videos get bogged down by constant sketches.
Only his sketches usually take place in a Disney Park, so the sound and lighting is trash.

I'd actually watch him more if his videos were like 5-10 minutes longer and just focused on the subject, rather than trying to be a character through the whole thing.

Bullshit, that ride was my shit when I was a kid.
I've made my peace, since it's old and janky and hasn't been updated since the 90's, but it'll still suck to see something so utterly from my era get replaced.

Like, that ride is like a time capsule from a very specific time in my life when I was like 4; it's got Ellen DeGeneris, Bill Nye, Alex Trebeck with a moustache, and fucking dinosaurs. I was all about all of those things when I was little.

Don't get too excited, that's just the kinda stuff I HOPE they implement.

They made back practically a quarter of what they spent on Lucasfilm from Force Awakens' box office run ALONE, so I don't think they're gonna have any qualms with going all-out on the parks and dumping a shit ton of money into them.

It's also tied to the Society of Explorers and Adventurers, which is Imagineering's new DEEPEST LORE obsession.

Through that organization, Indiana Jones is tied to the Jungle Cruise, Big Thunder Mountain, the Tokyo version of Tower of Terror, Haunted Mansion (One of the nu-Bride's victims was the brother of the guy from Tokyo's tower), Mystic Manor, Typhoon Lagoon, and Atlantis the Lost Empire (Atlantean script on the diving bell of the Typhoon Lagoon-based Society member)

The Society pre-dates Indy. Like most of the members we've seen getting rides were active in like the late-1800s-1910s.
