I'm not sure the comparison is entirely apt. Teodora's not really as much of a snob as Pacifica, that was really only the case in the first movie where she was an aristocrat and Xochitl was her servant (her origin has been changed in the series). She was also as dumb as a brick in that movie. Since then however, even in the later movies, she's been more of a shallow modern girl but who's still shown to be caring and occasionally intelligent, moreso in the Netflix show.

I think it's a very enjoyable show in its own right. It's just good old school fun and adventure with a likeable cast of characters, it isn't trying to say anything deep, perform social engineering or getting bogged down in bore-fests like complicated character relationships like some modern US cartoons have a tendency to do.

Oh, I actually used SAI for this. It's a custom brush I took from Tumblr.
Basically you have to take a normal brush and customize it with the brush textures SAI comes with, that's how one creates them.

The films started off looking pretty bad but they've improved with each one to the point Chupacabras legitimately looks really good. It was traditionally animated rather than Flash like the previous films and it shows.

The Netflix designs are fine for a TV series, but they'd make a theatrical movie look pretty cheap. I just see them as simplified versions of the movie designs anyway, which while drawing them I can totally understand - Netflix Teo takes literally half the time to draw Movie Teo does.

I'm glad someone understands, you can't release the Netflix show designs in theaters, unless you're going for something like Equestria Girls. I can't believe they thought that looked good for cinemas.
The first 2 Legend movies had the excuse to look strange at first but they seriously improved on that. Especially with the latest movies.

I've only ever lucid dreamed once, and I didn't really make very good use of it.

I just occasionally get lucky and dream about characters I like, usually when I'm very immersed in media about them and they're occupying my waking thoughts a lot - I think most of the inspiration came from these threads plus the fact I was drawing her and so looking at pics and skimming videos for refs near-constantly.

Basically in my dream Teo was really upset because she'd lost Chichi, we were in a series of very dark rooms and corridors it was hard to find your way around. I calmed her down and comforted her and then we went looking for him together. That was pretty much it.

When I saw promo arts for the series the first time, I thought Alebrije was some kind of a wrestler dragon wearing a luchador mask. What does that say about my soul?

just watched the full season, honestly it was pretty okay show

plus:

>great art direction, especially the storytelling sequence
>the characters were fun to watch, albeit kinda underdeveloped. Teo was my favourite, it seems she got the most personality and development compare to all characters.
