Because we have consistent comic releases as well as cartoons. It's not like other generals where they have no new content for months, or even over a year.

Even when Rebels is off air, we literally only have a few months to wait before new episodes, with consistent comics releasing almost every week, sometimes multiple issues, along with plenty of other Star Wars content keeping threads alive with actual discussion. We also have actual discussion, and dont spam/shitpost all over the board, so we're not pissing anybody off for people to complain about us. A lot of the time storytimes even happen in-thread, so we take up minimal space on the board despite being the biggest franchise ever.

We've been here for like 5 years now, I don't think we're going anywhere anytime soon.

Chopper/Saw/QT-KT already made it into movies despite first appearing in cartoons, and Hera very notably was name-called and shown flying around in the Ghost throughout Rogue One. Not to mention the Hammerheads, as noted earlier in the thread. So in some neat ways, Rebels/TCW has already crossed into the movies. Nothing major or gamechanging, but it shows they're willing to do it if the story fits.

I'd read a book about a shockboxer that was a champion living the high-life during the final years of the Republic, but is now down on his luck and out of work after the rise of the Empire and their outlawing of the sport in the core worlds who is forced to work as an enforcer for a crime syndicate on Coruscant and compete in illegal fights in the outer rim to survive. The Hurts, Black Sun and maybe a known bounty hunter or two (Embo? Cad Bane? Sugi? Auura?) could show up at some point too.
But primarily make it a character study of the main character and the criminal underworld that thrives beneath the veneer of order that the Empire projects. Show the consequences of a man being broken down and forced into a criminal lifestyle with all of its grime and violence as well as the slowly deteriorating moral compass and mental stability of someone that went from fame and fortune to squalor and desperation.

Speaking of Xizor, is there anything, at this point, that would be problematic about recanonizing Shadows of the Empire? It was always meant to take place between Empire and Jedi anyway, so it already cleaves very closely to canon. The biggest obstacle would be Dash Rendar and everything surrounding him, but I think they could make it work.

Or is it assumed that Shadows is in nucanon already?

I hope next season they make ship hulls and shields tougher, and ESPECIALLY buff their weapon power. Because the otherwise awesome Orbital Bombardment scene was REALLY hurt by Kanan walking off a hit five feet away from him.

Ironically the Novel that he was in was part of a really good duology in the otherwise mostly awful Vong wars era. (It's By Aaron "Wraith Squadron" Allston so of course it's good. RIP)

He's basically a partly braindead cyborg mindrapist that thinks in pictures and mindrapes part of the Coruscant underlevels (Full of refugees trying to avoid the vong as they transform the planet) into slave labor to dig into the old Jedi temple so he can steal/corrupt its power.

The other half of the book is generally better, it's Wedge using the NR's "only" (It's not actually the only one they had another at Mon Calamari but that's not a well known one) Super Star destroyer to delay the Vong's ability to move on to the next conquest, but the part on Coruscant isn't as bad as his hilarious appearance.

I really don't get the idea that he was ruined. They've done a rather good job of showing that if he fails, it's not because of his own ego or issues. It's because the Empire as a whole produces people desperate for glory and advancement.

The Governor and Admiral BisectedByAStarship were the entire reason it failed. Even when the Bendu decided to end up between the rebels and the Empire, demonstrating previously unimagined levels of force powers, he kept his cool and brought the storm to an end.

He's not perfect (Kallus had a few moments against him with the upper hand) but he's ungodly good and failures are never really his fault.

Part of it is the hype he's built over the years. People forget how Thrawn was actually written by Zahn and have fallen for this idea that he was some kind of unstoppable supergenius that never lost and destroyed the entire New Republic and killed multiple main characters. I mean, it worked killing off two minor villains with the inquisitor to show just how ruthless and cruel he was...but Thrawn is not that. He's pragmatic.

I honestly really liked how they handled him. It's like a good mystery novel, you can tell exactly how he got to his conclusions and how he worked stuff out. We saw him in earlier episodes looking at local art showing star charts and we saw him walking through his search, narrowing down all the many options. Rather than 'Hah Hah! I have used my Brain Magic to retroactively have stuff in place to stop you and to make you all act stupid in response!'

It is, but there's people that seem to equate killing off main characters with quality. Early on people were honestly upset that Rebels wasn't more like Game of Thrones and that the main characters weren't being killed off for shock value. People don't directly cite GoT anymore but you still see people bitching that nobody died. Some people complain that Zero Hour did nothing of consequence just because none of the main cast died.

Anakin was an obsessive and possessive guy, of course he slapped a chain on his piece of poon to make himself as much the center of her universe as he could. Kanan's not nearly so needy, and he was significantly younger than Anakin was by the time of Order 66. Hardly a fair comparison to make between a relatively new padawan and a guy who'd been a full knight for years.
