It's Deadpool. He's not and never will be the textbook "good guy". And Colossus puking at the sight of someone getting their brains splattered on the ground is definitely in character. Piotr abhors violence and killing.
Funny thing is, I went to this as a first date with a girl.
When the Cap 3 trailer showed up I asked her who she was rooting for. She said "Iron Man because I feel closer to him mentally".
I don't know what to think of someone who feels close to such a character, but more often than not being a nice upright guy like Cap and Superman is seen as "unrealistic, stupid and not interesting".
It makes me sad. I'd rather root for someone I'd like to be like. Like Cap or Supes, than for someone who is exactly like my bad sides, just because he happens to be funny and rich as he's displaying those bad personality traits.
>>79824706 >But since when did being a good guy become stupid/lame? It was just the recurring theme in the movie, how Deadpool is not a hero, is not that it was lame, but they showed that being a good guy does not always apply.
Dude, this is exactly what happens with guests in an anti hero's comic book, a bit like that time Spidey was in Warren Ellis' Punisher and he used him as a human shield, they poke fun at the superhero tropes trough them. It's glorious because it truly felt like the comics.
>>79833115 It was very white. They could have made it funnier if it clanged when it hit the ground. The puke was needed imo, otherwise it was just a super obvious setup for Wade to shoot Ajax, the puke brought something funny and unexpected to what would have been a scene anyone could spell out from the second it started.
>>79833557 Yeah, I know. That's why I want to see the English version as soon as possible. Russian theatres are only showing the dubbed version right now and they screwed up Colossus. They tried to point out that he actually has a Russian accent, and to do that in Russian, they gave him a really weird rural accent which just sounds awkward.
>>79833755 Maybe not super serious costume? They are just trying to help Deadpool after all, not exactly the ideal time to remind people that X-Men are involved when all sorts of death is about to rain on a city. Negasonic I suppose has to wear hers, other clothes perhaps tend to burn off.
Not that guy, but I have pretty much completely sworn off the theater going experience. It's never been pleasant, as all theaters are loud and tend to smell vaguely of body odor, but my most recent experience with The Force Awakens sealed it for me. Fucking mongoloids screaming and whooping and yes, clapping at every saber ignition or X-Wing appearance.
>>79835607 Jesus fucking Christ, where the hell do you live? Movie theaters are pretty good where I am in Washington.
Also, see the movie at a time kids/teenagers will still be in school during the day. For example, I went to see it at 11:30am yesterday, so every underage was still in school. Pretty good viewing experience.
>>79829826 More like FOX let them use Colossus because they didn't have any faith on the movie and since it was going to be a flop, better they use one of the most expendable X-Men that's still recognized and doesn't have a major part in other movies.
>>79836039 >Fox lets them have Colossus because they didn't see any value in generic Singer mutant #289 >they actually go ahead and make a Colossus that looks, acts, talks and behaves like the actual X-Men character from the comics for the first time >random people really start really liking that character all of a sudden
>>79829899 >Gina Carano >losing clean in a funnybook movie
lolno From the moment she was cast I knew the fight was going to end on some kind of interference. But kudos to the staff for having them both trade shots and get in a few good moves, instead of playing the entire fight for laughs.
>>79830390 And honestly, Colossus WAS kind of lame for waiting until that moment to give that speech. Really, that's the sort of thing you whip out on the cab ride over.
>>79831722 He never existed, since DOFP, Fox can use the "wizard did it" to get out of jail free on all recasting and plotholes. If something doesn't make sense AT ALL, its becasue DOFP changed the timeline somehow.
>>79836117 >>79836108 I'm still worried they won't give Thanos enough space. I'm worried he'll just be insane and the best we'll get is a Death character being all in his imagination. Marvel has to go all fucking out to make that shit work as more as their generic event movie and while my hopes have certainly been lifted a bit with Russos in charge, I'm cautious about Marvel "Ragnarok script had too many dead gods in it" Studios
>>79834482 See, the constant shit like this where every person involved with this movie loves the stuff makes me forgive the shortcomings of Deadpool, and believe me there's many. Meanwhile I get pissed of with every new Apocalypse trailer where JLaw isn't blue, like she's above that stuff now.
>>79837561 Not just the actress, all the time they have to devote to waiting for her makeup, having all the artists on standby in case part of it peels off during shooting, and whatever else they need for every shot she's blue in. I mean fuck, they already have Apocalypse to do too, and Nightcrawler I think. Might as well pick the one that can actually change their appearance to return to looking like a normal human most of the time.
>>79836573 It would be cool if instead of Surtur or whatever, Ragnarok consisted of Thanos descending upon Asgard to claim its treasures. With both Thor and Hulk already confirmed to be in the movie, it'd be a blow to see him beat both the team's heaviest hitters at once. They can be saved by a weakened Odin who transports them(and a fleeing Loki) to another realm in an Empire strikes back kind of moment. Then have Odin tell Thor he's going to prep him to inherit the Odinforce, giving them all a good reason to stay out of Infinity Wars Part 1. Last shot could be Thanos preparing to arrive on Earth. It'd tie in by having Thor's antics attract the attention of Thanos, and have Thanos be a legit threat.
>>79829041 Maybe she identifies with a more flawed character who struggles to do the right thing. She could be the kind of person who dings someone's car door and thinks about bailing for a split-second before leaving a note.
What did she say after you flipped your shit because she didn't like your favorite superhero as much as she should have?
Something that disturbs me a little, because I don't really remember the Deadpool comic that well, is that Deadpool is constantly trying to join the X-men and even designed his own suit, but in the movie he's more of a loner and constantly denying X-men's invitations, even when in the comics is the other way around IIRC. Also, wouldn't that be a problem for a future Cable & Deadpool plot? Because the little I remember is that the X-men try to convince Cable that Deadpool is not worth the trouble.
>>79839288 He was in X-2 and all he did was put two guys through a wall and lead the kids out of the mansion. Don't think he had any lines. X-3 he didn't do much besides stand in one spot clotheslining an endless hoard of mutants running into him. DoFP he did nothing except get his ass beat twice to show off the Transformers
I think he may have had a handful of lines but didn't do anything besides be the big strong guy.
>>79843603 This always bothered me. I get that Wolverine is looking after the kids, but aren't there other people that can lead the kids through the tunnel? I mean, an invincible person is always good back up to take with you.
Colossus represented the heart of PG-13 cape films. He is no stranger to violence but the sight of a bare breast stops him in his tracks. He has seen death but he doesn't see a bullet point blank through the skull. He hears crass language quite a bit but rarely the f word if ever. The evil villain deserves to be redeemed. He's so clean that he's shiny.
Deadpool has nudity, has sex, has brain splattering violence and has liberal usage of popular four letter words. It has to juxtapose itself against the X-Men universe somehow but in a way where the canon couldn't be affected in case this bombed. As others have pointed out, Colossus was perfect for this role. He's iconic yet expendable.
So, in short, Colossus pukes so Deadpool the movie can jerk itself off.
>>79824706 Haven't seen it yet, but my friend said he was stupid when Colossus tried to convince Deadpool not to kill people. I told him that's why I was looking forward to Colossus. I love kind-hearted noble heroes that just want to do the right thing.
>>79835607 Isn't Deadpool R-18 in most places? I watched it yesterday in some third world theatre and the experience was solid. No anmoying people (other than my friend and she was promptly told to shut up) and most importantly, no stupid kids or babies that fucking ruin everything. The only noise is people laughing at the movie.
>teach sixth grade >kids come to me on Friday telling me about how their parents are going to take them to go see Deadpool >know when the weekend's over I'm going to have to listen to more kids with zero filter who don't understand that slinging around words like "cocksucker" or references to masturbation isn't acceptable social behavior and WILL use that sort of speech in the classroom to make themselves seem like hot shit
>what I want to do to the parents who take twelve-year old kids or younger to this movie
They want to be seen as the "cool" parent and don't stop to think that maaaaaybe you might want to hold off on it until they're older and actually understand what sex fucking is in the first place before they get blasted by raunchy sex jokes in every other line of dialogue.
They have zero context in life to process any of what they're going to see joked about and presented other than the spectacle, so they're just going to repeat what they hear and model what they see, again, without context, and have a completely fucked up picture about what adult behavior is actually expected to be.
When kids sneak these movies, they understand at least that what they're seeing isn't really socially acceptable and they shouldn't go around parading that fact unless they want their hide tanned by a parent. When a parent TAKES THEM to go see it, you are implicit in condoning what they are going to see in the movie. The kids take completely the WRONG context from how its presented.
>>79853585 I disagree. Sure, in comparison to Deadpool he's lawful good, but the guy walks out into a scene of massacre and burning wreckage and just goes 'Deadpool, come on, you can be better than this.'
An actual lawful good stick in the mud wouldn't even associate with someone so blase about murder as deadpool
Lawful Good doesn't mean Lawful Stupid. Colossus sees the best in Wade and wants to bring it out, even if Wade doesn't see the use. At the very least by the end of the movie he's got a couple friends who were willing to bail him out of trouble when it counted.
>>79829899 she never did any damage to him at all, but that's the thing about people with super strength, even if you're totally invulnerable, they can still knock you around like a ragdoll unless you can fly.
>>79849837 PTA announcement. Use what little power you have to send some sort of newsletter voicing concerns about the movies content. Attach qoutes from said movie. Strongly suggest that movie is rated r for a reason. You can do dis mang.
and risk the ire of parents? Have you ever done teaching?
They bitch enough when the problems are legitimate and they just don't want to listen about 'stan's' problems and why little timmy doesn't understand the curriculum because the parents thought tons of soda is a good idea for a little sack of meat to survive on.
He has much bigger fish to fry than movies. He just hates seeing each new product as it affects said children in waves.
>>79849837 There was a mother and her two young boys sitting right in front of us when we went to see it last night. Sex scenes came on she went to cover their eyes and i am thinking "KEK, too late now bitch!"
>>79859610 He's what happens when a lawful good character can't do anything about the unlawful party member. He's definitely lawful, not just in the don't-break-laws way but also the structure-and-rules way. He's gives opponents chances to surrender, wont attack them if they're indisposed, and even insists on the importance of always eating breakfast.
>>79859809 He's Chaotic Good. The poster boy for it. He generally knows right from wrong, knows what he should and shouldn't do and will follow that, but do it his way; which usually involves a lot of killing and zany antics. He doesn't follow any structure at all, sometimes he'll do the most morally right thing, others he'll hurt innocent people just to get what he wants or if he needs to; case in point, keeping Blind Al hostage and forcing Weasel to do his work for him or when he sucker punched Kitty Pryde to get Logan to fight him, or the time he kicked Cap right in the stars and stripes to wake him up out of mind control. Chaotic Good to Chaotic Neutral is Deadpool in a nutshell.
