I'm kind of torn on Blade. On the one hand, I think it's cool that Marvel has these characters who are dedicated to putting down supernatural threats and generally don't stray outside of that wheelhouse or interact much with the more traditional heroes - similarly, I enjoy it when characters who have history in that area go back to it, like when Union Jack ends up having to take on some vampires or Moon Knight has to put down a werewolf. On the flipside, when characters like Blade DO interact with the mainstream guys, it feels pretty lame and forced. Especially in Blade's case, since he was retrofitted to match his movie portrayal, which was as far removed from mainstream Marvel as it's possible to be

Blade is a guy who generally works by himself and sometimes with one or two people like Hannibal King who devotes himself 100% to killing vampires and generally doesn't have much of a personality outside of "Badass Man"

Easy, Blade is not a super hero per say, in the 90s it was cool to like comic characters who weren't part of the bright spandex crowd and did something different, these days the bright spandex crowd IS the gimmick....people don't feel like they're in on the trend if they don't like SUPER HERO heroes, what would be the point of liking comics then if it didn't get you nerd points?
