Pyrrha's kind, understanding, serious when she needs to be but can still have fun. She understands the weight of her situation and is genuinely apologetic for the few mistakes she ends up making.

Where are her flaws? She has character drama but she's almost too perfect. Is saying sorry a lot a flaw? Literally the perfect waifu.

I really don't see it. She pickpockets, kills and deceives without complaint. I've never seen any hint of her even having empathy, besides her recent reaction to the attack. And even that isn't really conclusive.

Maybe I'm just over-analysing this because I like Emerald and thus pay more attention to what people say about her, but she seems to be really divisive. You've got some fans claiming that she'll betray Cinder and outright join the good guys (even before her comment this episode), then you've got other fans who just think she's bad.

I wonder why she's so divisive? The other villains don't seem to get this treatment.

Pyrrha's character is the "lonely at the top" archetype. She's the invincible girl, on the front of every Pumpkin Pete's. Because of all this success though, people don't relate to Pyrrha as Pyrrha, they relate to her as a champion - an undefeatable warrior. She's similar to Weiss in that regard, but Weiss also has this big family legacy thing to uphold. All Pyrrha has is the legacy of Pyrrha.

They can avoid making it Breach 2.0 just by having either party (good or bad) actually have something change overall for them. Maybe Beacon is so badly damaged that the student body gets split up amongst the different academies while repairs are underway. Maybe Cinder's plans genuinely fall apart, with no real backup in place, and we see whoever it is she's working with/for finally step up to the plate.

I'm hoping that things mostly go right for Cinder. The good guys salvage the situation so they're not completely fucked, but otherwise Cinder is left with the upper hand, leading to a Volume 4 about making a plan to fight her.

At least that's what I hope. I have the feeling that Pyrrha is going to overall succeed with the Maiden transfer, and defeat Cinder and her forces.

Here's my problem with this: I feel like this has been the way EVERY FUCKING VOLUME has ended. "The good guys have one the battle, but the bad guys still have a Keikaku for the war!" A perfect way to have a conclusive victory for the good guys while also not feeling like, "Buh, good guys are always winning!" is to make the victory costly, hence why Beacon is going to be badly damaged in this season. On top of all of that, admit it, seeing Cinder freak the fuck out would be cool and actually be surprising considering how cool she's been this entire season, and if it were to be followed by us catching a glimpse of the party behind her power, it would actually feel like a genuine upping of the stakes.

The thing is, when a match occurs affects the curve. Early any match can be made, but once it starts to get data it "assumes" based on that data. That is working as intended, but this does not mean results are as intended. This is how bit characters who get in early can shoot up in a list and even get ahead of main characters without beaconship actually comparing those two characters - which if they did the results would be different. It assumes every match has an absolute value, which I get is how the list building works but doesn't mean it's not a flawed result. Which is really endemic to any kind of "voting" system - but it's important to acknowledge that there are flaws.

But, you're not actually creating an ordered list. Beaconship develops an ordered list based on a random order of matches you pick from. The result beaconship generates is most likely going to be different than if a person numbered the characters by hand.

Of course, numbering by hand presents a second problem, where people would have to actually figure out their own numerical order for characters, which can be difficult on its own. Not everyone can put a number on their opinion, especially if you start getting up into the higher results. Beaconship gets around that, but at the cost that you get these weird comparison chains.

Combining powers is boring and vapid and takes away from the individual strength/abilities of a character, maiden or not. I want to see Yang punch things to pulp, not hover in the air with the rest of RWBY and summon the four elements of buttfuck. Its boring and lazy and takes way from the individualism of RWBY, and showing how each character is strong on their own.

Pyrrha's "death flags" are just warnings of a fall from grace and not some stupid character annihilation that would come much too soon for her character, while Cinder is going to exist for a long damn time by how she's been portrayed.

Killing these two characters this early is just weird and cuts the possible plot and story behind RWBY in like half. I don't consider it possible.
